Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña is the clear favorite to win this year's World Series MVP award based on the latest DraftKings Sportsbook odds.

The rookie sports +105 odds ($100 bet to win $105). He's followed by Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez (+700) and Houston third baseman Alex Bregman (+850).

A pair of Philadelphia Phillies in outfielders Bryce Harper (+950) and Kyle Schwarber (+1600) round out the top five.

The Astros lead the Phillies three games to two in the best-of-seven World Series thanks largely to Peña, who has eight hits in 21 at-bats for a .381 batting average. His 1.028 OPS also leads the team.

Peña has contributed in each of the Astros' three wins. His RBI double got Houston on the board first in a 5-2 win over Philadelphia in Game 2. He hit a single and later scored in the Astros' five-run fifth inning in Game 4. Finally, the Dominican Republic native went 3-for-4 with a run and two RBI in the Astros' 3-2 win in Game 5 thanks to a first-inning RBI single and a fourth-inning solo homer.

The 25-year-old played an instrumental role in helping the Astros win 106 games en route to the American League pennant by virtue of his 22 home runs, 63 RBI and .715 OPS in place of Carlos Correa, the team's longtime shortstop who left in free agency for the Minnesota Twins.

Peña and the Astros will look to finish the Phillies off Saturday in Houston for Game 6. Zack Wheeler will start for Philadelphia, and Valdez will get the ball for the Astros.

Losers of three straight games and with a trip to Buffalo on the Week 8 schedule, the Green Bay Packers are currently listed as 10.5-point underdogs at DraftKings Sportsbook for next Sunday's game against the Bills.

Ben Fawkes of VSiN reported it marks the first time in Aaron Rodgers' career he'll start a game as a double-digit underdog.

Green Bay's offensive woes continued in Sunday's 23-21 loss to the Washington Commanders, as Rodgers was limited to 194 yards on 23-of-35 passing. He has not topped 255 passing yards in a game all season and ranks 26th among quarterbacks in QBR (40.5).

"I'm not worried about this squad. In fact, this might be the best thing for us," Rodgers told reporters. "This week, nobody's going to give us a chance, going to Buffalo on Sunday Night Football, with a chance to get exposed. Shoot, this might be the best thing for us."

The oddsmakers have plenty of reason to back the Bills. Buffalo looks like the Super Bowl favorite through the first seven weeks of the season, reeling off a 5-1 record and coming off a win over the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, the Bills are so historically backed by the books that they made Patrick Mahomes a home underdog for the first time in his career in Week 6.

With a bye week getting the Bills back to as close to full health as they've been since the opening of the season, Rodgers and Co. are going to have an uphill battle at covering 10.5 points—let alone pulling off an upset win.

That said, Rodgers is the back-to-back reigning NFL MVP for a reason. He's pulled off far bigger wins against far better teams in far more dire circumstances.

For what it's worth, that spread also means the Packers sit at +420 odds (bet $100 to win $420) to win the game outright. Bettors may never get a chance to roll the dice on Rodgers at +420 again the remainder of his career, so this may be a come-up chance of the season.

The Promotion Entities are not responsible for lost, late, stolen, damaged, incomplete, invalid, un-intelligible, garbled, delayed or misdirected entries – all of which will be void. 1. PRIZE, APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”), AND ODDS OF WINNING: 

1. Prize (1).  The “Prize” is a four (4) day/ three (3) night trip for two (2) people (winner and one (1) adult guest of his/her choosing) to Las Vegas, Nevada. Prize includes round-trip coach class air transportation from a major commercial airport near winner’s residence (selected in Sponsor’s sole discretion) to Las Vegas, Nevada, transportation to and from the airport/hotel while in Las Vegas, a standard hotel room selected by the Sponsor (double occupancy) for the winner and one (1) adult guest, and the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) made payable to the winner.  Only one (1) Prize will be available in the Promotion. 

The Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the Prize is Four Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($4,400). The actual value of the Prize may vary depending on point of departure and fluctuations in the cost of air transportation. Any difference between the estimated ARV and the actual value of the Prize will not be awarded.

Food, ground transportation, parking, meals, and any and all other costs and expenses, including airline baggage fees, not expressly set forth in these Official Rules are not included in the Prize. The winner will be responsible for all gratuities, meals, ground transportation, and any other incidental costs or expenses not identified in these Official Rules. The winner’s guest must be at least 21 years of age (at time of travel) to participate in the Prize. The guest must execute liability/publicity releases prior to issuance of travel documents. Travel dates are subject to availability; blackout dates and other restrictions may apply. The winner and guest are responsible for having valid travel documents including government identification and/or passports. Travel must be complete within one (1) year of award and booked at least 30 days in advance, except as otherwise permitted by Sponsor in its sole discretion. The winner and his/her guest hereby acknowledges that Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance for any part of the Prize. The winner will be required to provide a major credit card upon hotel check-in, and all in-room charges will be charged to the credit card. Any damage to the room will be the responsibility of the winner. Sponsor and the Promotion Entities bear no responsibility if any event, element or detail of the Prize is canceled, postponed or becomes unavailable for any reason. Should any event, element or detail of the Prize become unavailable, the Sponsor shall have no obligation to the winner aside from providing the remaining portion of the Prize, minus any unavailable event, element or detail.

1. General:  In no event will more than one (1) Prize will be awarded. If, for any reason, more Prize notifications are sent (or more claims are received) than the number of Prizes offered, as set forth in these Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right to award the intended number of prizes through a random drawing from among all eligible Prize claims received. Further, if, for any reason, including but not limited to an administrative, printing, production, computer or other error or due to technical difficulties or incorrect announcements of any kind, more winning messages are distributed, or more Prizes are claimed than are intended to be awarded for any Prize according to these Official Rules, the intended Prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from among all verified prize claims.  Prizes are not transferable and include only the items specifically listed as part of each Prize. No substitution or cash equivalent of Prize is permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. If the Prize, or any portion thereof, cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prize or portion thereof with another Prize of equal or greater value. Any portion of the Prize not accepted by a winner will be forfeited. Federal, state, and local taxes on the Prize and any expenses relating to the acceptance of and use of the Prize not specified herein are the responsibility of the winner. The potential winner will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release (except where prohibited by law), and any other requested documents within five (5) business days from the date of attempted notification as set forth above or the Prize may be forfeited in its entirety.  If a potential winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, if a potential winner declines to accept the Prize, if Sponsor or Administrator is unable to contact a potential winner via Instagram messenger, direct message on Bleacher Report app, or e-mail address at the e-mail address provided by the potential winner when his/her account was created, if a potential winner fails to complete and return all documents within the time period specified, or if the notification set forth above is returned undeliverable, the Prize will be forfeited, and an alternative winner will be selected at random from the pool of Entries.

(ii) any computer, telephone, satellite, cable, network, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, or availability;

(iii) garbled, corrupt or jumbled transmissions, service provider/Internet/Website/UseNet accessibility, availability or traffic congestion;

(iv) any interruption, disadvantage or loss in the Promotion due to any connectivity issues including bandwidth, WiFi or cellular signal strength/speed/range, data outages, data buffering, etc.;

(v) disadvantages or losses in the Promotion due to mobile device operability issues such as low battery, screen timing-out, accidental button-presses, screen orientation issues, touchscreen malfunctions/inaccuracies, etc.;

(vi) disadvantages or losses in the Promotion due to software or internet browsers issues like rendering inaccuracies, compatibility discrepancies, VPN or network security-related blockages, etc.;

(vii) interruptions, loss or disadvantages in the Promotion due to device interruptions such as incoming calls, texts, messages, system/software updates, notifications or any kind, etc.;

(viii) any technical, mechanical, printing or typographical or other error;

(ix) the incorrect or inaccurate capture of registration information or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information;

(x) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, technical error, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to the Promotion;

(xi) any injury or damage, whether personal or property, to Entrant’s or to any person's smartphone, tablet, computer, or similar devices related to or resulting from participating in the Promotion; and

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Without limiting the foregoing, everything regarding this Promotion, including any Prize, is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

RELEASE: By participating in the Promotion, each Entrant releases and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Promotion Entities and Instagram from and against any and all costs, claims, damages, (including, without limitation, any special, incidental or consequential damages), or any other injury, whether due to negligence or otherwise, to person(s) or property (including, without limitation, death or violation of any personal rights, such as violation of right of publicity/privacy, libel, or slander), due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Promotion, or arising out of participation in any Promotion-related activity, or the receipt, delivery, use or misuse, of any Prize.

DISPUTES: EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, THE PROMOTION IS GOVERNED BY, AND WILL BE CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH, THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN, AND THE FORUM AND VENUE FOR ANY DISPUTE SHALL BE IN THE COUNTY OF OAKLAND, MICHIGAN. IF THE CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM IS NOT OTHERWISE RESOLVED THROUGH DIRECT DISCUSSIONS OR MEDIATION, IT SHALL THEN BE RESOLVED BY FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION ADMINISTERED BY THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH ITS ARBITRATION RULES AND PROCEDURES OR SUBSEQUENT VERSIONS THEREOF (“AAA RULES”). THE AAA RULES FOR SELECTION OF AN ARBITRATOR SHALL BE FOLLOWED, EXCEPT THAT THE ARBITRATOR SHALL BE EXPERIENCED AND LICENSED TO PRACTICE LAW IN MICHIGAN. THE REMEDY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL DAMAGES, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL ANY PARTY BE ENTITLED TO RECOVER PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES OR OTHER SUCH RELATED COSTS OF BRINGING A CLAIM, OR TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT OR SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR ANY OTHER EQUITABLE RELIEF. ANY DEMAND FOR ARBITRATION MUST BE FILED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR OF THE TIME THE CAUSE OF ACTION OCCURED, OR THE CAUSE OF ACTION SHALL BE FOREVER BARRED.

PUBLICITY RIGHTS AND PRIVACY POLICY: By participating in this Promotion, each Entrant agrees to allow the Sponsor and Sponsor’s designee the perpetual right to use his/her name, address (city and state), biographical information, likeness, picture and other information and content provided in connection with the Promotion for promotional, trade, commercial, advertising and publicity purposes in all media worldwide including, but not limited to, on television and the Internet, without notice, review or approval and without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.  Any personally identifiable information collected during an Entrant’s participation in this Promotion will be collected by Administrator and/or Sponsor, or their designees, and used by Administrator, Sponsor and/or their designees: (i) as stated in the Privacy Policy located at https://wbd.com/privacy-notice and/or as otherwise disclosed to Entrant in connection with any separate opt-in opportunity provided to Entrant during participation in the Promotion, (ii) for any other purposes as may be necessary in connection with the proper administration, fulfillment, publicizing, and promotion of the Promotion as described in these Official Rules, and/or (iii) as otherwise expressly consented to by Entrant during any separate opt-in opportunity provided to Entrant during participation in the Promotion. If an Entrant does not fully agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy stated above or with Sponsor’s statement in the Official Rules as to the use of an Entrant’s personal information, such Entrant should not provide any personal information to enter the Promotion.

GENERAL: If, in the judgment of Sponsor, the Promotion is not capable of running as planned, or the integrity and or feasibility of the Promotion is severely undermined by a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention,  technical failures, fire, flood, epidemic, earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy, satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, war (declared or undeclared), terrorist threat or activity, or any federal, state or local government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction, or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor, which corrupts the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Promotion, Sponsor reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to discontinue, suspend or terminate the Promotion. In the event of any such discontinuation, suspension or termination, notice thereof will be posted @br_betting on Instagram and Sponsor will make the Prize available to be won in a manner it deems fair and reasonable, which manner shall include the selection of potential winner in a random drawing from among all eligible Entrants received prior to any such discontinuation, suspension or termination.  A potential winner may be required to show proof of being the primary account holder. The big-spending Los Angeles Dodgers are the clear betting favorite to win the 2022 World Series ahead of Opening Day on Thursday.

L.A. owns a $277.1 million payroll, which is $24 million than any other MLB team and more than double the league average ($134.5 million). That alone ensures it's a championship-or-bust season for Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Clayton Kershaw and Co.

Here's a look at some of the other top contenders based on the odds at Caesars Sportsbook (via ESPN's David Purdum):

The Dodgers already featured perhaps the most complete roster in baseball when the lockout ended in March, but that didn't stop them from adding more star power.

They signed Freeman, who helped lead the Braves to last season's World Series title, to a six-year, $162 million contract in free agency and then completed a blockbuster trade to acquire eight-time All-Star closer Craig Kimbrel from the White Sox.

Given the Dodgers won 106 games last season and added one of MLB's best players over the past decade to their lineup, it'd be impossible to consider anyone else the favorite.

That said, it's a bit surprising to see the reigning champion Braves with odds more than double L.A.'s.

Atlanta won the title without the electric Ronald Acuna Jr., who suffered a torn ACL in July and is expected to return in early May, and was able to acquire Matt Olson to replace Freeman at first base.

The Braves also get Marcell Ozuna back from suspension and re-signed Eddie Rosario, who delivered several clutch hits during last year's playoff run.

Add in a possible midseason return from Mike Soroka (Achilles) to bolster the starting rotation, and a title defense isn't out of the question.

While L.A. and Atlanta seem like the class of the National League, the American League carries a far more wide-open feel into the new season.

The extra playoff spot—the are now six berths in each league for the three division winners and three wild cards—should benefit the teams in the AL East, which figures to see a tight four-club race between the Blue Jays, Yankees, Rays and Boston Red Sox.

Chicago and Houston are also threats for the pennant, but one sleeper to watch is the Minnesota Twins, who own 50-1 World Series odds.

The Twins started slow last season, but they played above .500 (29-27) from the beginning of August and then made several key additions during the offseason.

That group of arrivals was headlined by Carlos Correa and also included Gary Sanchez, Gio Urshela, Sonny Gray and Dylan Bundy. They also just added starter Chris Paddack in a trade with the San Diego Padres on Thursday.

If the dynamic but oft-injured Byron Buxton can put together a healthy season atop Minnesota's order, the team could emerge as a contender.

The MLB season is scheduled to get underway Thursday at 2:20 p.m. ET when the Brewers visit the Chicago Cubs.

A Professional Fighters League Challenger Series event on Friday has reportedly been flagged for suspicious betting activity.

According to ESPN's Paula Lavigne and David Purdum, the event was originally promoted as a live broadcast on fuboTV, but the PFL later said that the fights had already taken place a week earlier. The odds had moved significantly in favor of each of the winning fighters on Friday afternoon leading up to the broadcast.

U.S. Integrity, a Las Vegas-based company that monitors betting markets, alerted sportsbooks on Saturday that the PFL confirmed it had pre-taped the event on March 25.

"As such, it's very possible that any potentially suspicious wagering activity is indicative of nefarious behavior," U.S. Integrity wrote in the alert, per ESPN.

In a statement provided to ESPN through a spokesperson, PFL denied any wrongdoing and did not specify the reason why the event was prerecorded before its initial airing, despite noting it was the first such occurrence in the company's history.

"Any sportsbooks that took bets on the prerecorded program did so without the consent or knowledge of the PFL," PFL spokesperson Loren Mack said in an email.

Mack also stated, "PFL did not include any betting lines, content, or promotion in connection with the program."

Regarding why the event was promoted as a live broadcast, senior vice president of communications for fuboTV Jennifer Press told ESPN, "We inadvertently used the same promo copy for the April 1 show as we did for previous shows, which was a mistake. We regret the error."

A spokesperson for DraftKings told ESPN that it had initially offered odds in several states before noticing some irregularities.

"At the time we believed the event in question was live. After noticing unusual activity on a number of fights, DraftKings removed the markets," the spokesperson said. "We are working with regulatory bodies to determine the appropriate course of action."

U.S. Integrity's investigation into the matter is ongoing.

"Our goal as always is to notify the industry of any potential nefarious, abnormal or suspicious activity as soon as possible so they can take action as quickly as possible," U.S. Integrity president Matthew Holt said.

DraftKings announced Wednesday that it reached an agreement to become the official sports betting, daily fantasy sports and iGaming partner of the NHL as well as the exclusive NHL sportsbook and DFS provider for Turner Sports.

Regarding the working relationship between DraftKings, Turner Sports and the NHL, DraftKings CEO Jason Robins said:

"The NHL has some of the most passionate fans in all of sports and we are delighted to be working with the league once again, while developing a rich and engaging viewership and content experience that matches this fanbases' enthusiasm through our deal with Turner. Over the years DraftKings has become a brand synonymous with sports, with a fan-first approach through real-money gaming options, and we look forward to collaborating with the NHL alongside Turner Sports and Bleacher Report to provide hockey fans with what's next in sports."

The partnership is in conjunction with Turner Sports' new multimedia rights agreement with the NHL, which will have 50 regular-season games air on TNT during the 2021-22 season as well as the Stanley Cup playoffs and Stanley Cup Final.

NHL Chief Business Officer and Senior Executive Vice President Keith Wachtel also commented on the new arrangement, saying:

"As we embark on what promises to be a thrilling 2021-22 NHL season, our partnership with DraftKings, as well as with Turner Sports, will provide for new and exciting experiences to deepen our fan engagement. We're proud to welcome back DraftKings to the NHL family, and look forward to collaborating together with Turner Sports—one of our valued media partners—to develop unique and exciting content for our fans."

The partnership will allow Turner Sports to utilize DraftKings betting and daily fantasy information and content on its telecasts and across all Bleacher Report digital platforms.

The 2021-22 campaign represents a new beginning for the NHL, as its 16-year run with NBC came to an end following the 2020-21 season.

Now, the NHL has broadcasting rights deals with both Turner Sports and ESPN for the foreseeable future.

Regular-season games will air on TNT every Wednesday night throughout the 2021-22 season, and the slate will kickoff this Wednesday with the New York Rangers vs. Washington Capitals and Chicago Blackhawks vs. Colorado Avalanche.
