Las Vegas Raiders offensive tackle Trent Brown is expected to miss at least one month after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list for a second time.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Brown was recently hospitalized after an IV mishap before a game and is also dealing with complications from COVID-19.

Brown was originally placed on the reserve/COVID list two weeks ago. No further details on the complications from the virus have been made public.

"There have been some reports out there and I'm not going to cover Trent Brown until he's back on the field with us," Raiders coach Jon Gruden told reporters Wednesday. "But he's in good spirits. I'm told everything is fine. But right now, I'll just leave it at that."

Brown's tenure with the Raiders has been derailed by illness and injuries. He has appeared in just 13 games since signing a four-year, $66 million contract with the team in March 2019, missing all but two games this season.

His absence has left the Raiders scrambling at their right tackle spot, with veteran journeyman Sam Young currently taking Brown's place in the starting lineup.

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis expressed his displeasure with the NFL's hefty fines against his team for violations of COVID-19 protocols and announced his intent to appeal them.

"The fines are draconian," Davis told ESPN's Paul Gutierrez on Friday. "But we will appeal them. Outside the organization, people have the wrong impression about the Raiders. We take it seriously. It's unfortunate that certain things outside the protocol are the things being focused on, rather than the positive steps we've taken as an organization. You've been in the building. You've seen it."

As Gutierrez noted, the steps include "daily COVID-19 tests, temperature checks, trackers and masks being mandatory to enter the team's facility."

Davis added: "[Raiders head coach Jon Gruden] and those guys are working their asses off every day. But at the same time, [the NFL] feels we've failed some of those mandates."

The Raiders have had numerous issues related to COVID-19. Most notably, the team was fined $500,000 and stripped of a sixth-round draft pick and Gruden was fined $150,000 for repeat violations of the league's protocols. Gruden was fined $100,000 (and the Raiders $250,000) after the coach did not wear his mask properly on the sideline during his team's win over the New Orleans Saints on Sept. 21.

The league has levied $1.2 million in fines against the team, per Gutierrez.

COVID-19 is rapidly spreading in the United States. Per Lenny Bernstein and Jacqueline Dupree of the Washington Post, the country set its third straight daily record for COVID-19 cases Friday with over 128,000.

The Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and Detroit Lions have entered the NFL's COVID-19 intensive protocol, per Nick Shook of NFL.com.

Sixteen of the league's 32 teams have at least one player on the reserve/COVID-19 list, according to John Breech of CBS Sports.

The NFL's Week 9 slate will go on as planned, however, and the Raiders will visit the Los Angeles Chargers with kickoff at 4:05 p.m. ET Sunday.

The Las Vegas Raiders have been fined $500,000 and stripped of a sixth-round draft pick after the NFL concluded the organization again broke COVID-19 protocols, according to Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.

The league began investigating after a positive test was confirmed for offensive tackle Trent Brown in late October. Head coach Jon Gruden has also been fined $150,000.

This is the first time the NFL has revoked a draft pick from a team for violating COVID-19 protocols.

The Raiders were one of the first teams penalized for not properly wearing masks on game day this season. Gruden was fined $100,000 while the organization was forced to pay $250,000. In total, the NFL has now taken $1.2 million in fines from Las Vegas as well as a pick.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the league found multiple violations of the health and safety guidelines agreed to by the NFL and Players Association, including Gruden's failure to consistently wear a face mask, players attending a large indoor gathering and allowing unauthorized personnel into its locker room following a game.

The penalties come at the end of a week where multiple teams have seen COVID-19 outbreaks shut down their facilities including a number of clubs that have already been fined for not adhering to the the coronavirus protocols.

The San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos have both had employees test positive this week with multiple Niners starters forced to miss Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers.

Las Vegas is scheduled to face AFC West rival Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Trent Brown was reportedly placed back on the COVID-19 list ahead of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers

Albert Breer of The MMQB reported the news Thursday, noting Brown is "still experiencing complications from the virus."

Brown missed the Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because he tested positive for COVID-19. He also missed the Week 8 win over the Cleveland Browns after Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported he was hospitalized following a "mishap with his pre-game IV that caused air to enter his bloodstream and required immediate medical attention."

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported the NFL Players Association is investigating the IV situation, while Vic Tafur of The Athletic reported Brown checked out of a Cleveland hospital on Monday.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden provided an update Monday, per Paul Gutierrez of ESPN:

"We were all shaken up pretty good. You get shook up when you see one of your own go down and you don't know what's wrong with him. But we were able to assure our players he was in good hands and his signs were vital and he was doing good. We said a prayer for Trent before the game and we went out and tried to win a game for him. It's something that's on our mind and weighing heavily on us right now. We hope he's OK."

When Brown missed the Week 7 game against Tampa Bay, the rest of the starting offensive linemen self-quarantined because he did not wear his tracker inside the team facility. The other starters were cleared to play during the day of the game.

Brown has played for the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots in addition to the Raiders and was a Pro Bowler for his current team last year. He has appeared in just two games in 2020.

Las Vegas is 4-3 on the season.

Las Vegas Raiders right tackle Trent Brown was released from the hospital Monday after missing Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns because of a medical matter, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

Tafur noted Brown will, however, have to remain in Cleveland overnight because of the lack of available flights to Las Vegas on Monday.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Brown was hospitalized following a "mishap with his pre-game IV that caused air to enter his bloodstream and required immediate medical attention."

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden provided an update on Brown on Monday, per Paul Gutierrez of ESPN:

"We were all shaken up pretty good. You get shook up when you see one of your own go down and you don't know what's wrong with him. But we were able to assure our players he was in good hands and his signs were vital and he was doing good. We said a prayer for Trent before the game and we went out and tried to win a game for him. It's something that's on our mind and weighing heavily on us right now. We hope he's OK."

Earlier Monday, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported the NFL Players Association is investigating what happened.

Gutierrez provided more details, noting Brown practiced Friday and was slated to start even though he tested positive for COVID-19 less than two weeks prior. The rest of the starting offensive line had to self-quarantine prior to the Week 7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because Brown was not wearing his tracker inside the team facility before he tested positive.

In their statement explaining Brown was out for Sunday's game against the Browns, the Raiders made it clear that it was not because of COVID-19 symptoms.

"All of a sudden, we come in and they're wheeling him out and I'm like, 'Bro, what is going on?' It was crazy and so we prayed," quarterback Derek Carr said, per Gutierrez. "As a team we prayed for him, we made sure he was OK, his family, because I'm sure they were scared to death."

Brown was a Pro Bowler last year for the Raiders but has appeared in only two games this season.

Las Vegas defeated the Browns 16-6.

Las Vegas Raiders right tackle Trent Brown reportedly has been hospitalized following a "mishap" with a medical procedure prior to Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported there was a "mishap with his pre-game IV that caused air to enter his bloodstream and required immediate medical attention." According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the NFLPA is investigating the matter. Florio also reported that Brown remained in the hospital as of Monday morning and was undergoing additional testing.

Paul Gutierrez of ESPN noted Brown tested positive for COVID-19 less than two weeks ago but practiced Friday and was slated to play in Sunday's contest. He was inactive, though, and the Raiders released a statement saying he "felt ill before the game, resulting in his deactivation" but "did not exhibit any COVID-related symptoms."

Carr provided more worrisome details.

"All of a sudden, we come in and they're wheeling him out and I'm like, 'Bro, what is going on?' It was crazy and so we prayed," Carr said. "As a team we prayed for him, we made sure he was OK, his family, because I'm sure they were scared to death."

According to Rapoport, Brown will remain in the hospital overnight Sunday for further tests.

"We're just going to say that he got ill here in the locker room and he's being evaluated right now," Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said, per Gutierrez. "We'll update you as soon as we something. But I'm told everything is OK. We were expecting Trent to play today; he had a great practice on Friday."

Gutierrez explained the entire Raiders starting offensive line was forced into self-quarantine because Brown was not wearing his tracker while at the team facility prior to testing positive for COVID-19.

The Raiders have made a number of COVID-19-related headlines this season.

Gruden was fined $100,000 and the organization was fined $250,000 because the coach did not properly wear a mask during a game. A number of members on the team, including Carr, also attended a charity event in September when players were photographed without masks.

As for Brown, this is his second season with the Raiders. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots earlier in his career and was a Pro Bowler last year.
