Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones denied rumors the team has been in contact with wide receiver Terrell Owens about a potential return for America's Team this season.

"I've never talked to him or his agent and will not seriously consider it," Jones said during his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. "But I've never talked to him."

Owens' agent, Gregory D.L. Daniel, recently told Sports Illustrated's Aaron Wilson that the former NFL wideout had been in "constant communication" with Jones about a possible deal.

Daniel said:

"We've been in constant communication with Jerry Jones' office over the last few days about the possibility of him returning to the Cowboys. Terrell is ready to contribute and play any role, big or small. He's in outstanding shape. He looks no different than he did years ago. I watched him running routes full-speed with DeSean and he looked great. He didn't drop a pass.

"He most recently ran a 4.5 40-yard dash, which was his warm-up. He's a legend. We want to make history and see him break these records. If anybody can do it, it's him. His three Ds are desire, dedication and discipline. He embodies that every day, even running hills at 3 a.m. on Christmas morning."

NFL reporter Dov Kleiman reported Wednesday that Owens "won't be signing with the Cowboys at this time." A source told Kleiman that one reason the deal isn't happening is because Owens is asking for more money.

It's no secret the Cowboys could use another wideout, but signing the 49-year-old would be a risk that many teams probably wouldn't be willing to take at this point in the season.

Owens said earlier this month that he had also been in contact with the San Francisco 49ers, another of his former clubs, about a possible return during an appearance on 95.7 The Game's The Morning Roast (h/t Angelina Martin of NBC Sports). The two sides obviously never reached a deal.

Owens last suited up in the NFL in 2010 when he was 37. He spent three seasons with the Cowboys from 2006-2008, racking up 3,587 yards and 38 touchdowns in 47 games.

In addition to the Cowboys and 49ers, Owens also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals across his 15-year career. The Hall of Famer's 15,934 receiving yards trails only Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald for most receiving yards in NFL history

The Cowboys had also been in contact with Odell Beckham Jr. about joining the team this season, but Jones essentially ruled out that possibility, saying recently that "it's not realistic to think about having him in any meaningful way for the playoffs."

Beckham remains unsigned while rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered in the Super Bowl last season.

The Cowboys enter their regular-season finale against the Washington Commanders next week having already clinched a playoff berth with a 12-4 record. CeeDee Lamb has been their best receiver with 1,307 yards eight touchdowns in 16 games.

Terrell Owens knows just the guy who can help the San Francisco 49ers if they're looking for a wide receiver.

Owens said Wednesday on San Francisco radio station 95.7 The Game (via Audacy) he's "definitely available":

The six-time Pro Bowler isn't wrong in that he's "definitely available," but it's safe to say he definitely won't step onto an NFL field again.

Owens last played in the NFL in 2010 and has been out of the league long enough to get enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He's also celebrating his 49th birthday, so he'd be the oldest player in the history of the NFL. George Blanda was 48 when he retired.

Owens is a 49ers legend and one of the most prolific pass-catchers of all time. He ranks eighth in receptions (1,078) and third in receiving yards (15,934).

The former Niners star remains in great shape too.

But the ship sailed long ago on an Owens comeback in the NFL.

Former NFL player Terrell Owens says he was acting in self-defense when he punched a man in a CVS parking lot, telling the Associated Press that the other person "made offensive gestures and threatening statements."

The altercation, which took place Saturday night in Inglewood, California, was caught on video and shared by TMZ Sports:

Owens said the situation began inside the store when a person threatened both him and a fan and that the man continued to do so after they walked outside.

"The aggressor continued threatening the fan just as he did in the store," Owens said. "Once again, attempting to diffuse the ongoing situation, I placed myself between the fan and the aggressor. I made verbal demands asking the aggressor to stop his threatening behavior."

Owens told the AP that the man "swung at me first," and he "felt obligated to prevent the aggressor from becoming more violent."

According to TMZ Sports, Owens left in his own car and police were not called.

The 48-year-old former wide receiver played 15 NFL seasons, earning five first-team All-Pro selections, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

He has stayed active in various football endeavors since his last NFL season in 2010, including playing in the Fan Controlled Football league this year.

Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens said he feared a dispute with his neighbor about his driving Wednesday night in Florida could have turned violent.

Owens told TMZ Sports in an interview released Saturday he was "very aware" of the danger the situation presented, so he attempted to remain calm while filming the scene.

"If the wrong type of cops came out, if they got the wrong type of information," Owens said. "Her, you saw the video, she started crying, you never know how that situation could've turned."

He added: "I could've died. Honestly, I could have died and the storyline would be totally different."

Owens noted he's hopeful Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody will look into the situation, which began when the woman called police saying the football player almost struck her with his car, something he previously denied, per TMZ.

"I think there should be some consequences to her actions," he said. "You just can't go around and blurt out things like that and then go about your everyday life and feel like as though you've gotten away with it. Because people are going to witness this, they're going to monitor this…and if they feel that she got away with it, somebody else is going to feel like they can do the same thing."

The Broward County Sheriff's Office told TMZ after Wednesday's incident that Owens and his neighbor were separated by the responding officer and no arrests were made.

Owens played 15 NFL seasons as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. He was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of its 2018 class.

The 48-year-old Alabama native most recently played for the Knights of Degen in the Fan Controlled Football league earlier this year, and he's expressed interest in returning to the NFL with the Cowboys.

No charges were filed after an altercation between Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens and a neighbor that was partially documented on social media.

"The parties were separated and the situation resolved," the Broward County Sheriff's Office told TMZ Sports.

Owens posted a nearly 11-minute video on his Instagram late Wednesday night that includes both his account and the woman's account of the argument, along with an intervening police officer. The altercation began when the woman allegedly yelled at Owens and accused him of speeding while driving to his mailbox.

Owens said he then got out of his vehicle when the woman began cursing at him and accused him of nearly running her over. He denied the allegations to police, at which point the woman began agitated and continued cursing at Owens before screaming: "You're a Black man approaching a white woman!"

The woman then began crying, at which point Owens turned the camera to himself and began addressing the situation.

"There's Karen, this is unbelievable," Owens said. "I've never been a part of nothing like this. I've seen it, but this is first-hand. ... Before [the police] got here, it was 'f--k you this, f--k you that.' The police show up, the tears start flowing."

Owens then proceeded to continue telling his side of the story to others in the neighborhood, including one woman who corroborated the fact he was not speeding.

The video ended before police left the scene, but apparently, the situation was resolved without further incident.

Terrell Owens: 'I'm Ready' to Join Cowboys After James Washington's Foot Injury

Terrell Owens hasn't played in the NFL since 2010, but he is still standing by for a call from the Dallas Cowboys:

The Cowboys have a need at wide receiver after James Washington suffered a fractured foot that will keep him out for six-to-10 weeks.

Owens, 48, recently competed in the Fan Controlled Football League and has consistently said he could compete in the NFL if given the opportunity.

"I'm not your typical 48-year-old," Owens said in April, per Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press. "I think anybody that has seen me ... everybody sees the speed is there. There's a few athletes that can defy the odds or have defied the odds, and I honestly feel like I'm one of those guys."

Owens called on Andy Reid to sign him to the Kansas City Chiefs last season and expressed interest in joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the team released Antonio Brown.

To his credit, he did make some plays in the FCF this past spring:

Owens was one of the best wideouts in the game during his prime, earning six Pro Bowl selections with five first-team All-Pro honors. He ranks third in NFL history in receiving yards (15,934) and receiving touchdowns (153), ranking eighth in receptions (1,078). He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018.

The superstar also spent three of his 15 NFL seasons with Dallas, reaching 1,000 receiving yards in each campaign.

That type of resume might be enough for team owner Jerry Jones and the Cowboys to bring Owens in for a workout.

It would still be a leap of faith for any team to add a player in his late 40s who is more than a decade removed from his last NFL action.
