Bettor Wins $1.4M From $16 Wager on 6-Leg Parlay After Harris English's Victory

Harris English wasn't the biggest winner following his PGA Tour victory on Sunday.
English collected $1.33 million by outlasting Kramer Hickok in the Travelers Championship. However, that total was narrowly eclipsed by the $1.36 million one bettor collected after cashing in on a six-leg parlay, per ESPN's David Purdum.
The bettor put $15.50 down with 90,396-1 odds of seeing all six outcomes swing their way:
- Croatia to beat Scotland
- England to beat the Czech Republic
- Steve Stricker to win the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship
- Nelly Korda to win the KPMG Women's PGA Championship
- Viktor Hovland to win the BMW International Open
- Harris English to win the Travelers Championship
Their nerves were probably frayed by the time all was said and done.
"I was sure that Hovland, Korda and Steve Stricker were good bets," the bettor told Betfair, per Purdum. "But I was a little unsure on Harris English."
English had to sink a 28-foot birdie putt on No. 18 to move to 13 under, which was ultimately required to force the playoff with Hickok.
The pair then battled over eight playoff holes to determine a champion, which tied for the second-longest sudden-death playoff in PGA Tour history.
It certainly made for dramatic viewing as the bettor watched to see whether they would be collecting a hefty windfall.
Best NBA Same-Game Parlay, Betting Props for Nets vs. Mavs; Lakers vs. Clippers

It's beginning to look a lot like the postseason in the NBA these days, and Thursday's doubleheader on TNT is sure to keep the pressure mounting. The Brooklyn Nets kick things off against the Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m. ET, immediately followed by the Los Angeles Clippers facing the Los Angeles Lakers.
Every team involved in the action has something at stake, making Thursday the perfect opportunity for bettors to dial up some Single Game Parlays on FanDuel and take advantage of four clubs looking to fine-tune their rhythm before the playoffs. The Nets are fighting for the No. 1 seed in the East, the Clips are trying to grab hold of the No. 3 seed in the West and both the Mavs and Lakers are working to avoid the play-in tournament.
With plenty at stake on Thursday, it's time to trust each team's stars and cash in.
Here are the plays worth rocking with.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Dallas Mavericks
Tipoff: 7:30 p.m. ET on TNT
Spread: Nets -3.5 (-114)
Moneyline: Mavericks +136 (bet $100 to win $270)
Over/Under: 234 (-110)
Despite still missing James Harden (hamstring), the Nets are getting plenty of production out of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant lately. The two combined for 132 points over their last two gamesâboth losses at Milwaukeeâand appeared to have re-established some chemistry after Durant missed half of February and all of March with a bruised left thigh. It's time to put some faith in the high-powered duo and trust they're motivated enough to snap Brooklyn's three-game losing streak by themselves. With Kristaps Porzingis unavailable for Dallas (knee), Durant should have little trouble getting off good looks.
Build Around This: Kevin Durant 3+ Made Threes (-128)
Durant has sunk at least three three-pointers in three of his last five games and is increasing his shooting volume behind the arc lately. In the two-game series against Milwaukee, Durant went 11-for-21 from deep, taking 13 attempts in the first game and another eight in the second. A 47.9 percent shooter from three-point range this season, expect Durant to look for his shot early against Dallas, giving bettors a reason to jump on.
Squad Ride Single-Game Parlays
- Kevin Durant 3+ Made Threes, Kyrie Irving Over 6.5 Assists, Luka Doncic Over 8.5 Rebounds (+652)
- Kevin Durant 3+ Made Threes, Luka Doncic 30+ points, Josh Richardson 2+ Made Threes, Nets -4 (+1104)
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers
Tipoff: 10 p.m. ET on TNT
Spread: Clippers -8.5 (-110)
Moneyline: Lakers +138
Over/Under: 216 (-110)
As desperate as both the Clippers and Lakers are to get on a roll before the playoffs begin, injuries problems aren't helping. LeBron James (ankle) and Dennis Schroder (health and safety) are out on Thursday for the Lakers, while Serge Ibaka (back) and Amir Coffey (health and safety) are out for the Clippers.
Tuesday's matchup between the Clips and Toronto Raptors was just the first time since early March that Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Patrick Beverley, Nicolas Batum and Ibaka shared the court together, and there's still plenty to be ironed out there. This one might not be the most offensively exciting matchup all year. Bet accordingly.
Build Around This: Anthony Davis Over 22.5 Points (-118)
Davis has been looking stronger recently since returning from calf and Achilles injuries. He's played at least 31 minutes in his last five contests, essentially ending his minutes restriction, and has scored at least 22 points in three of those games. Without James in the lineup, Davis becomes the primary option in the Lakers' offense and should get plenty of looks at the rim.
Squad Ride Single-Game Parlays
- Anthony Davis Over 22.5 Points, Paul George 3+ Made Threes, Kawhi Leonard Over 6.5 Rebounds (+481)
- Anthony Davis Over 22.5 Points, Paul George 3+ Made Threes, Andre Drummond Under 9.5 Rebounds, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Over 10.5 Points (+1071)
Let's Get Rich
While the TNT games have our attention, there are a few other bets out there that have our curiosity. You're not going to be able to buy a private jet without hitting a long shot. Stay focused, keep the faith and let's cash a big one.
- LaMelo Ball 6+ Assists/Charlotte To Win (+255)
- Anthony Davis First Basket (+460)
- Bradley Beal First Basket/Washington To Win (+1100)
- Trae Young 3+ Made Threes (+116)
- Andrew Wiggins 2+ Made Threes (-240)
Payout: $10 to win $43,059.62 (+430596)
Thursday's 3x2
FanDuel is offering the best bet in basketball on Thursday and, if you've come this far, there's no point in missing out. The 3X2 is back for Nets-Mavs, giving fans a reason to make sure they're seated for tip off. If both teams combine to make two three-pointers in the first three minutes of the first quarter, everyone wins. FanDuel has boosted the odds to -110 (bet $110 to win $100) with a maximum bet of $50.

Justin Fields Betting Favorite to Be Picked 3rd in NFL Draft by 49ers over Mac Jones

San Francisco 49ers fans hoping their team takes Ohio State's Justin Fields instead of Alabama's Mac Jones with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2021 NFL draft will surely be pleased with Thursday's odds update.
As Will Brinson of CBS Sports shared, Fields is now the favorite to go No. 3 on April 29 at minus-121 (bet $121 to win $100). He is followed quarterbacks Jones (+100), North Dakota State's Trey Lance (+300) and BYU's Zach Wilson (+2500).
Peter King of NBC Sports reported San Francisco has not yet decided who it will take with the No. 3 pick in his Football Morning in America column on Sunday, but that was before head coach Kyle Shanahan was in attendance for Fields' pro day workout Wednesday.
Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports noted Shanahan was seen providing Fields' quarterback coach, John Beck, suggestions on the throws he was looking for from the signal-caller.
Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area pointed out Fields took shotgun snaps with his left foot forward and his right foot back during the pro day. That is perhaps notable because he took shotgun snaps with his right foot forward at Ohio State but switched it up for this pro day that included the 49ers' brass.
Having the right foot back is something associated with Shanahan's quarterbacks in the past:
Perhaps this is just Vegas reacting to the pro day with the odds shifts, but there is plenty to like about Fields at No. 3 assuming Clemson's Trevor Lawrence and Wilson are off the board in the first two picks.
The B/R NFL Scouting Department ranked the Ohio State product as the No. 2 overall player available in this draft behind Lawrence and as the quarterback with the best mobility. He proved with the Buckeyes that he can make plays with his legs, hit receivers in stride on deep balls and fit throws into tight windows on underneath routes.
It is not particularly difficult to envision him thriving in Shanahan's offense for years to come if the 49ers make this move.

Suns, Fanduel Partner to Build Sportsbook Inside Arena

The Phoenix Suns announced a partnership with and FanDuel to build a sportsbook inside their arena beginning next season.
According to a press release Thursday, the deal is a "multi-year market access partnership" that will make FanDuel the official gaming partner of the Suns franchise.
âThis is a watershed moment for the Suns organization and our fans,â said Phoenix Suns president and CEO Jason Rowley. âFanDuel is the perfect partner as our missions are fully aligned. Simply put, FanDuel is committed to making sports more exciting while the Suns are focused on delivering exciting sports and entertainment and engaging fans at the highest level possible.â
Gaming companies have increasingly sought out team partners in order to put books inside arenas as sports gambling continues to see a rise in legalization. The Arizona legislature voted this week to approve sports gambling, which could launch before the end of 2021.
Nineteen states and Washington D.C. have fully legalized sports gambling. Only three states (Wisconsin, Idaho and Utah) are yet to start the process of legalization.
The Suns say they expect their in-arena sportsbook to be fully constructed by the beginning off the 2021-22 NBA season. Its opening will be subject to sports gambling being formally legalized.
According to the release, fans will be able to place wagers both at the 6,300-square-foot facility or from their seats using their FanDuel app. The lounge will be open daily for sports wagering and will include seating and other amenities for fans to track their bets.
Bettor Wins $3K After Wagering $1 on 4-Leg First-Basket NBA Parlay

A bettor won over $3,000 on a $1 bet Tuesday night via a first-basket parlay through DraftKings.
DraftKings Sportsbook posted a screenshot of the bet, which yielded a payout of $3,059:
The bettor placed a wager on four players to score the first field goal in their respective games and needed each to come through to win.
The parlay was made up of guard Devin Booker scoring first for the Phoenix Suns against the Miami Heat, forward Jayson Tatum scoring first for the Boston Celtics against the Portland Trail Blazers, center Moses Brown scoring first for the Oklahoma City Thunder against the Utah Jazz and forward Marcus Morris Sr. scoring first for the Los Angeles Clippers against the Indiana Pacers.
Booker had the best odds of the four players to score first at +475 (bet $100 to win $475), which comes as little surprise since he is among the NBA's premier scorers with 25.7 points per game.
Brown had the longest odds at +850 given that he is averaging just 8.7 points per contest, although he has scored in double figures in four of his past six games, including a 12-point effort Tuesday.
Given that five players start for each team, the odds were very much stacked against the bettor in the parlay, as each player they chose only had a 1-in-10 chance at best to make the first field goal.

Bettor Wins $122K After Making $20K Wager on 3-Leg NBA, MLB Parlay

One bettor turned $20,000 into nearly $122,000 on Monday.
The bettor made a three-leg parlay covering three games: the Los Angeles Angels vs. Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates vs. San Diego Padres, and the Utah Jazz vs. Washington Wizards.
Throwing down 20 grand on three run-of-the mill regular-season games is certainly a creative way to raise additional funds, and it obviously worked out in a big way.
Betting the Wizards and Jazz to score more than 120.5 points in the first half looked pretty shrewd after they combined for 75 in the opening quarter. Utah's 23-point second quarter might have left the bettor sweating, though.

Preakness Picks 2020: Examining Latest Vegas Predictions and Odds

Each year, Triple Crown bettors and viewers alike rely on the information they learned from watching the Kentucky Derby, the first jewel of the three annual thoroughbred races, heading into the Preakness Stakes, traditionally held two weeks thereafter.
Many of the horses who saddled up for the Derby will also compete in the Preakness, and with the latter's shorter length (1 3/16Â miles), it can be easier to predict how the three-year-olds will fare.Â
This year, however, the Triple Crown is running out of order because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Belmont Stakes, historically the third and final jewel, was run first, on June 20. Following was the Kentucky Derby, traditionally held on the first Saturday in May but this year run Sept. 5.
So on Saturday, four weeks after Authentic's triumph at Churchill Downs, the 145th Preakness Stakes will occupy its usual slot following the Kentucky Derby but will conclude this year's Triple Crown.
A handful of horses who ran in the Derby are competing in the Preakness, but there is also an infusion of new talent at this late stage to keep betters on their toes. Let's take a look at the odds and break down the favorites for Saturday's race.
        Â
2020 Preakness Post Positions and Odds
1. Excession: 30-1
2. Mr. Big News: 12-1
3. Art Collector: 5-2
4. Swiss Skydiver: 6-1
5. Thousand Words: 6-1
6. Jesus' Team: 30-1
7. Ny Traffic: 15-1
8. Max Player: 15-1
9. Authentic: 9-5
10. Pneumatic: 20-1
11. Liveyourbeastlife: 30-1
Odds according to Preakness.com
   Â
Of the 11 horses in the Preakness field, four ran in the Kentucky Derby: Authentic, Mr. Big News, Max Player and Ny Traffic.
Authentic, of course, won the race ahead of favorite Tiz the Law in second. Mr. Big News, meanwhile, came in third.
Another horse in the Preakness field, the Bob Baffert-trained Thousand Words, was scratched the day of the Derby after flipping in the paddock. And Art Collector, initially the second-favorite, was sidelined by an injury.
Tiz the Law, who won the Belmont Stakes in June, won't be running in the Preakness Stakes. With the Triple Crown off the table, his trainers are preparing him for the Breeders' Cup Classic on Nov. 7.
So it's no surprise that Authentic and Art Collector are the top betting choices ahead of the Preakness Stakes. Authentic, also trained by Hall of Famer Baffert, has lost only once in six starts.
The bay colt ran the seventh-fastest Kentucky Derby in historyâand the Preakness is a half-furlong shorter in distance. Historically, horses who show blazing speed in the Derby perform well in the Preakness.
Meanwhile, Art Collector is undefeated on the year, most recently winning the Blue Grass Stakes (G2) over fellow Preakness contender Swiss Skydiver, the sole filly set to run at Pimlico on Saturday. But the $1 million Preakness stakes will mark the first Triple Crown race for his trainer, Thomas Drury Jr.
Ny Traffic held his own against Authentic in the Haskell Stakes (G1) but didn't land on the podium there. He didn't fight to the finish in the Derby, which doesn't bode well for Saturday.
Swiss Skydiver and Thousand Words could be surprise contenders Saturday, but this race is Authentic's to lose. And Art Collector has the best shot of playing spoiler. Â
Preakness 2020: Horses, Favorites and Contenders for This Year's Field

In a typical year, the Preakness Stakes would be run on the third Saturday in May, after the Kentucky Derby (typically run on the first Saturday in May) and before the Belmont Stakes (usually wrapping up the Triple Crown on the third Saturday following the Preakness.Â
But 2020 is not a typical year, and as a result, this year's Triple Crown schedule has been turned on its head.
The Belmont Stakes, rather than being the third jewel of the Triple Crown, were run first this year, with the Kentucky Derby following and the 145th running of the Preakness Stakes scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 3, at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
At least the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes were kept back-to-back, as spectators and bettors alike are used to seeing which standout horses from the Derby return to take another shot at glory in the Preakness Stakes.Â
This year, however, a handful of the horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby won't be running in the Preakness Stakes, meaning that the new infusion of three-year-old thoroughbred horses will make things interesting.Â
Let's take a look at the results of Monday's post draw and the latest odds, via the Preakness Stakes. Then, we'll break down each of the 11 horses in the field and their chances of winning "The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans."
  Â
2020 Preakness Post Position Draw and Odds
1. Excession (30-1)
2. Mr. Big News (12-1)
3. Art Collector (5-2)
4. Swiss Skydiver (6-1)
5. Thousand Words (6-1)
6. Jesus' Team (30-1)
7. Ny Traffic (15-1)
8. Max Player (15-1)
9. Authentic (9-5)
10. Pneumatic (20-1)
11. LiveYourBeastLife (30-1)Â
   Â
Preakness 2020 Contenders and Favorites
Looking at the Preakness Stakes odds as of Monday, it's not surprising that Kentucky Derby winner Authentic is the odds-on favorite to win the Triple Crown's second jewel.
Authentic, who has only lost once in six starts, didn't run in the Belmont Stakes, but the colt, trained by Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert, made a statement at the Kentucky Derby, stealing a win favored for Tiz the Law.
When all was said and done, Authentic ran the seventh-fastest Kentucky Derby in history, at 2:00.61 for â1 1/4 miles. The 1 3/16 miles Preakness Stakes (or 9.5 furlongs compared to the Kentucky Derby's 10 furlongs) could see lightning-fast Authentic approach another speed record.Â
At 5-2, Vegas also likes Art Collector on Saturday. The bay colt was the second betting choice after Tiz the Law ahead of the Kentucky Derby, but an injury during a workout sidelined him in The Run for the Roses. Art Collector won the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on July 11.
You won't see Belmont Stakes winner and Kentucky Derby first choice Tiz the Law run in the Preakness Stakes. He is preparing for the Breeders' Cup Classic in Lexington on Nov. 7.Â
If you watched the Kentucky Derby, you'll also recognize the names Mr. Big News, Max Player and Ny Traffic, who came in third, fifth and eighth, respectively, in that race.Â
As for horses who aren't coming off the Kentucky Derby, Thousand Words was scratched from the Kentucky Derby after he reared up in the paddock, but he will run Saturday. He is also trained by Baffert, who is looking for a record eighth Preakness win.Â
Meanwhile, Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen enters three horses, Max Player, Pneumatic and Excession, as he looks for his third Preakness win. Pneumatic finished fourth in the Belmont Stakes.
Filly Swiss Skydiver is making her second start against colts and looks to become the first filly since 2009 to win the Preakness. The others: Rachel Alexandra (2009), Nellie Morse (1924), Rhine Maiden (1915), Whimsical (1906) and Flocarline (1903).Â
Liveyourbeastlife and Jesus' Team, who finished second and third, respectively, in the Jim Dandy (G2) at Saratoga, have 30-1 odds.Â
Latest Vegas Odds for Preakness 2020 After Post Draw

It hasn't been a typical Triple Crown season, but with the Preakness Stakes around the corner, we've made it to the non-traditional third leg.Â
The Preakness is usually the second jewel of thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown, but this year, the order of the three was changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic: the Belmont Stakes was run on June 20, the Kentucky Derby on Sept. 5, and on Saturday, the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
As the Derby is nicknamed The Run for the Roses, the Preakness Stakes is referred to as The Run for the Black-Eyed Susans, given the race's official flower.
And for the first time in Pimlico history, the Preakness and the Black-Eyed Susan, the race for three-year-old fillies, will be run on the same day.Â
On Monday morning, the post position draw for the 145th Preakness Stakes was held, which only helps the Vegas odds hone in on which of the 11 three-year-old thoroughbreds has the best shot of capturing the Middle Jewel.Â
Below, we'll outline all of the post positions for the horses entered into this year's race, as well as their odds, and break down who is favored heading into Saturday's event.Â
  Â
2020 Preakness Post Position Draw and Odds
1. Excession (30-1)
2. Mr. Big News (12-1)
3. Art Collector (5-2)
4. Swiss Skydiver (6-1)
5. Thousand Words (6-1)
6. Jesus' Team (30-1)
7. Ny Traffic (15-1)
8. Max Player (15-1)
9. Authentic (9-5)
10. Pneumatic (20-1)
11. LiveYourBeastLife (30-1)Â
The Preakness is typically a bit easier to evaluate than the Kentucky Derby, but this year, there is an extra layer of mystery surrounding the 11-horse field, as a handful of Derby participants are not running in the Middle Jewel.Â
It's no surprise that Kentucky Derby winner Authentic is the Vegas darling heading into the Preakness Stakes. The Bob Baffert-trained colt notched the seventh-fastest Kentucky Derby in history, at 2:00.61 for â1ÂŒ miles.
The Derby win was Baffert's sixth; now, he'll look for his eighth Preakness Stakes win from Authentic on Saturday. And the three-year-old may well give it to him; he has only lost once in six starts. Authentic did not run in the Belmont Stakes.Â
Another notable horse to watch on Saturday is Art Collector, who was the second choice heading into the Derby behind Tiz the Law but had to be withdrawn the morning of the post draw with a minor injury to his left front heel.Â
Now healthy, Art Collector is the second betting choice in the Preakness at 5-2. The winner of the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland on July 11 will run from post position No. 3.
Speaking of the Derby favorite, Tiz the Law, who won the Belmont in June, won't be looking for a second jewel by running the Preakness Stakes. His trainers are instead preparing him for the Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington on Nov. 7.Â
Derby horses Mr. Big News (third), Max Player (fifth) and Ny Traffic (eighth) return for the Preakness Stakes. Another Baffert-trained horse, Thousand Words, will run the Preakness after being scratched from the Kentucky Derby.Â
The Preakness purse is $1 million. Post time is 5:45 p.m. ET on Saturday, and the race will be broadcast live on NBC.
