Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson reportedly would consider waiving his no-trade clause after the 2021 season for the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints or Denver Broncos, per sportswriter Jordan Schultz.

Previous reports had indicated that the Philadelphia Eagles may also be a possibility for Wilson if the Seahawks relent and trade him in the offseason.

There were rumors dating to last offseason that Wilson wanted to be traded, though the quarterback himself denied them in June:

There was a lot of people, there was a whole thing saying I requested a trade, and that's just not true. I didn't request a trade. Everything kind of started from there. Obviously, tons of teams were calling and I think that the reality was I didn't want to go anywhere else, I wanted to play in Seattle. But if I had to go somewhere, these are the teams I would go to or consider. At the end of the day I have a no-trade clause, right?

But with the Seahawks limping to a 4-8 record this season and the playoffs likely out of reach, whispers of Wilson's desire to play elsewhere have cropped up again.

The 33-year-old has had his own struggles this season, throwing for just 2,042 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 67.2 percent of his passes in nine games. He has a 3-6 record as the team's starter.

Part of his dip in play is likely due to the injured finger that cost him three games. In five contests before the injury he threw for 10 touchdowns and one interception. In four games since, however, he's thrown for just four scores and three picks. That has led to questions about whether Wilson perhaps returned too soon.

Regardless, it's been a rough season in Seattle, and continued rumors of Wilson's potential future departure won't make it any easier.

Former Cowboys HC, Giants OC Jason Garrett Reportedly Interested in Duke HC Job

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach and New York Giants offensive coordinator Jason Garrett is reportedly interested in the Duke Blue Devils' head coaching job, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

This comes one day after Steve Wiseman of The News & Observer reported Garrett was on Duke's "radar" for the vacancy.

According to Wiseman, however, "Duke's focus is trained on assistants, led by Clemson's Tony Elliott and Texas A&M's Mike Elko."

Other names who have reportedly been explored by the Durham, North Carolina, university include Indianapolis Colts running backs coach Scottie Montgomery, Dallas Cowboys senior defensive assistant George Edwards, Mississippi State wide receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. and Duke interim head coach Trooper Taylor, per that report.

Duke is looking to replace David Cutcliffe after the school and former head coach mutually parted ways in late November. He spent 14 years leading the program, leading the Blue Devils to a 77-97 record and six bowl appearances.

It was a solid run for a school traditionally thought of as a basketball powerhouse and where football has often been perceived as an afterthought.

Hiring Garrett would bring with him an extensive resume that includes an eight-year NFL career as a backup quarterback, parts of six seasons as an NFL offensive coordinator with the Cowboys (2007-10) and Giants (2020-21) and parts of 10 seasons as an NFL head coach with Dallas.

The 55-year-old's tenure leading the Cowboys was up and down, as he went 85-67 but just 2-3 in three playoff appearances. And his tenure with the Giants was downright poor, as the offense finished 24th in yards and 28th in points last season and was 26th in yards and 28th in points this season before he was fired in November.

The Princeton graduate doesn't have coaching experience at the college level, but his NFL pedigree would make him a major hire for Duke.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers as he continues to deal with a neck injury, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Schefter noted the team is hopeful Jones won't miss time.

New York's depth chart could be tested this week, as backup quarterback Mike Glennon was diagnosed with a concussion after a 20-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Jake Fromm—who was signed off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad on Dec. 1—could get the start if Jones does in fact miss the game.

While Jones suffered a concussion in a Week 5 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, he was cleared to return ahead of Week 6. The 2021 campaign has been a critical one for the former sixth pick as he looks to cement his future in New York.

However, the 24-year-old has been inconsistent this season, completing 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,428 yards and 10 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 11 games.

Of note, this is not the first time Jones has been bothered by injuries in his career. He missed two games in 2020 because of hamstring and ankle ailments.

Every time the New York Giants seem to be turning things around this season, they are unable to capitalize on the momentum. In Week 12, they notched their first NFC East win of the year by beating the Philadelphia Eagles ...

Giants' Mike Glennon Suffered Concussion in Week 13 Loss to Dolphins

The New York Giants confirmed Mike Glennon suffered a concussion in Sunday's 20-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Glennon finished 23-of-44 for 187 yards and one interception while filling in for an injured Daniel Jones.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Jones' neck injury could keep him out for multiple weeks. As Glennon was still being evaluated, Giants head coach Joe Judge initially said the 31-year-old would remain the starter for the time being.

Now, New York might be looking at a new starting QB for the third straight week. The team is back in action Dec. 12 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

With Jones potentially unavailable and Glennon's status in flux, the Giants may have little choice but to add another quarterback to their active roster. They have one signal-caller (Brian Lewerke) on their practice squad.

Absent a notable outside acquisition, Jake Fromm appears to be a week out from his first NFL start.

New York signed Fromm, a fifth-round draft pick in 2020, from the Buffalo Bills' practice squad on Wednesday. The 6'2" passer went 21-of-36 for 172 yards in three preseason appearances for Buffalo.

At 4-8, the Giants are last in the NFC East and will fall two games behind the Washington Football Team in the wild-card race if Washington beats the Las Vegas Raiders.

New York still has a route into the postseason but can ill afford to lose further ground. Coming through with a victory in Week 14 would be difficult if the offense is counting on Fromm under center.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones will miss Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins with a neck injury.

According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, Giants head coach Joe Judge classified the injury as a "neck strain" and added that Jones hasn't been cleared for contact.

Judge also said the injury is "not yet" considered to be season-ending, per Vacchiano.

The third-year passer previously suffered a concussion in Week 5's matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, but he was cleared ahead of Week 6. He missed two games because of injury in 2020.

Mike Glennon replaced Jones against the Cowboys, throwing for 196 yards and a touchdown against two interceptions, and he will be the Giants' starter against the Dolphins.

Jake Fromm, who was signed off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad this week, will serve as Glennon's backup, marking the first time the second-year man will be active for a regular-season games.

Jones, 24, has the Giants off to a 4-7 start this season, and the 2019 first-rounder has played up-and-down football in what figures to be a key year for him in terms of his future with the team.

The Duke product is completing 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,428 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 298 yards and two scores.

New York has played better as of late, winning two of its past three games over the Las Vegas Raiders and the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Glennon and the Giants will have a tough task on their hands this week against a 5-7 Dolphins team riding a four-game winning streak.

Giants Rumors: Daniel Jones Nursing Neck Injury, Likely to Miss Dolphins Game

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is considered "week-to-week" with a strained neck, and he is expected to miss his team's road game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, per Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Jones suffered the injury early in the Giants' 13-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday, per Pelissero.

Mike Glennon is in line to start against Miami, per the NFL Network duo.

The Giants also signed quarterback Jake Fromm off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad earlier Tuesday, according to Pelissero. As Dan Duggan of The Athletic noted, the Giants had an open roster spot, where Fromm will now fit in.

Glennon replaced Jones when the latter signal-caller suffered a concussion in the second quarter of a 44-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 10.

The 31-year-old completed 16-of-25 passes for 196 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, one of which resulted in a Dallas pick-six.

The 6'7", 225-pound signal-caller has played for six teams over his nine-season NFL career.

The pocket passer notably started five games for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020, completing 62.0 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns (five interceptions) and 6.0 yards per attempt.

Jones being out would be a tough blow for a struggling and short-handed offense that has been in a constant state of flux.

Wideout Sterling Shepard has missed six games due to injury, and Kadarius Toney has missed two. Both were out due to injury on Sunday.

That's in addition to time missed by wide receiver Kenny Golladay (three games) and running back Saquon Barkley (four games). Left guard Shane Lemieux and center Nick Gates have been out for the year with season-ending injuries since September.

The Giants offense also underwent a significant change after parting ways with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, leading to Freddie Kitchens taking the clipboard on Sunday. New York has averaged 18.4 points, which ranks 26th in the 32-team NFL.

Now the Giants look likely to go into Miami without their starting quarterback.

Facing the scorching-hot Dolphins defense, which has allowed an average of 11.5 points per game over its past four contests, was a tall enough task with Jones.

Without him, the Giants' running game and defense will need to step up even more to pull off a win.

Kickoff is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The New York Giants picked up their fourth win of the season Sunday. After beating the rival Philadelphia Eagles 13-7, New York pulled to 4-7 and just one game behind the No. 7-seeded Minnesota Vikings in the NFC playoff race...

Giants Rumors: HC Joe Judge Wanted to Fire Jason Garrett Last Year

If New York Giants head coach Joe Judge had his way, Jason Garrett's tenure with the organization would have ended much sooner.

Per CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, Garrett was brought back as offensive coordinator after last season in large part because he had "very strong support" from Giants ownership.

La Canfora also noted New York's ownership valued Garrett's previous head-coaching experience on the staff with Judge, who had never been a head coach at any level before getting the Giants job in January 2020.

On Tuesday, a day after a 30-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Judge announced Garrett's firing with Freddie Kitchens, who was working with the team as a senior offensive assistant coach, taking over as interim offensive coordinator.

One source told La Canfora that things were "already bad between" Judge and Garrett during the 2020 season.

From a performance standpoint, there were legitimate reasons for Garrett to lose his job. The Giants scored the second-fewest points in the NFL last season (17.5 per game) and rank 25th through 10 games in 2021 (18.9 points per game).

New York's 18 total touchdowns this season ranks 31st in the league, ahead of only the Houston Texans (16).

Garrett did have a long stint as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, including eight games as the interim coach in 2010. The 55-year-old had success in the role with an 85-67 record and three NFC East titles, but he never advanced past the divisional round.

Judge and Kitchens previously worked together in 2005 at Mississippi State. Judge was a graduate assistant, while Kitchens was in his second year with the program as the running backs coach on Sylvester Croom's staff.

After Judge was hired by the Giants, he brought Kitchens on board as the tight ends coach last year. He was named senior offensive assistant in July.

New York is going into Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles in last place in the NFC East with a 3-7 record. The franchise hasn't had a winning season or made the playoffs since 2016.
