Former WWE star Dwayne "The Rock"
Johnson provided an exclusive teaser trailer for his upcoming movie,
Black Adam, on social media Saturday.
Black Adam features Johnson in the
headline role as one of the top supervillains in the DC Comics
universe. The movie is scheduled to release July 29, 2022.
It's been a while since wrestling fans
have seen The Rock in a WWE ring as he continues his quest to conquer Hollywood. His last appearance came in October
2019 when he showed up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of SmackDown, the weekly show
branded after one of his hallmark catchphrases.
He took part in an entertaining segment
alongside Becky Lynch and Baron Corbin:
Rumors emerged The Rock could make an
appearance at this year's Survivor Series pay-per-view in November
for the 25th anniversary of his debut, but it sounds like that
won't happen.
Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men
podcast reported (via Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc.) Johnson's
schedule calls for him to be in Australia filming the NBC sitcom Young Rock when Survivor Series takes place.
It's been speculated his appearance
would have started to set the stage for a potential match against
Universal champion Roman Reigns, possibly at next year's
WrestleMania. Those plans may be shifting toward the 2023 edition
of Mania, per Middleton.
Johnson's busy acting schedule makes it
unlikely he'll ever become a full-time WWE competitor again, but bringing him back for an occasional main-event storyline is always
a major win for the company.
The Rock vs. Reigns would certainly
fall into that category.
Goldberg: 'I Won’t Be Completely Healed' for Bobby Lashley Match at WWE Crown Jewel

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg revealed this week that he is less than 100 percent ahead of his match against Bobby Lashley at Crown Jewel.
During an appearance on CarCast (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Goldberg said the following regarding his upcoming bout: "Knee's much better. Hopefully it'll be—I won't be completely healed by then [Crown Jewel] but it'll be, suffice to say, in good enough shape to kick Bobby's ass. Let's just say that."
Goldberg was likely speaking in storyline terms since the story of his last match against Lashley at SummerSlam in August involved him suffering a knee injury.
The 54-year-old veteran challenged Lashley for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam; however, the match was stopped and Lashley was declared the winner when it was determined Goldberg could not continue because of his knee.
Lashley attacked Goldberg after the match, leading to Goldberg's son, Gage, attempting to make the save. Lashley then put Gage in the Hurt Lock before retreating.
A furious Goldberg has vowed to get revenge, and he will have that opportunity next Thursday at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Crown Jewel match will be contested under No Holds Barred moves, meaning the competitors can do essentially anything they please.
While Goldberg is still a tough competitor and in great shape for his age, Lashley is a physical marvel and is nine years younger.
Still, it seems likely Goldberg will come out on top, as logical booking dictates he will get back at Lashley for what he did to his son.

WWE's Top Dolla Drops Diss Song Seemingly Aimed at AEW's Young Bucks
Oct 16, 2021
Top Dolla, who is part of the Hit Row stable in WWE, released a diss track Friday that seemed to be directed toward AEW tag team The Young Bucks.
The rap was labeled by Top Dolla as a "sneaker diss" in reference to a tweet he posted Wednesday that caused quite a stir:
In the tweet, Top Dolla wrote that some fans' "favorite wrestlers" wear sneakers on camera to seem "cool and hip" despite not really wearing them in real life:
Since The Young Bucks often wrestle in expensive pairs of Jordans, it was instantly assumed that Top Dolla was talking about them.
According to WrestlingInc.com's Marc Middleton, The Young Bucks responded by changing their Twitter bio to: "Spent more on sneakers in September than the entire NXT roster did."
The bio was likely in reference to the fact that Top Dolla and Hit Row were on NXT, although they recently got called up to the main roster on SmackDown as part of the WWE Draft.
In his diss track, Top Dolla mentioned that he trended all day on Twitter as a result of the beef with The Young Bucks. He also suggested that Nick and Matt Jackson are only 5'8" in real life.
While there is no real question that Top Dolla's rap was directed toward The Young Bucks, the fact that he used a beat from rapper Young Buck for the track likely erased any doubt.
The Young Bucks have long been considered among the best tag teams in the world by many wrestling fans, while Hit Row is still a new act, having been together for less than a year.
Top Dolla, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Ashante Thee Adonis and B-Fab haven't wasted any time in making waves, however.
Under his real name, A.J. Francis, Top Dolla was previously a star football player at the University of Maryland and went on to spend time in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Football Team.
Before debuting on NXT, he made his presence felt within WWE by being one of the main characters on the A&E show WWE's Most Wanted Treasures, as well.
Now, Top Dolla is part of an up-and-coming stable on WWE's main roster, and he already has people talking.

Sasha Banks Coy About Why She Missed Match vs. Bianca Belair at 2021 WWE SummerSlam

WWE Superstar Sasha Banks declined to reveal why she missed SummerSlam in August when asked about the topic Friday.
In an interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Banks said the following regarding her SummerSlam absence:
"There's no reason. I'm not telling you anything. (Laughs). You're not Oprah. You're not the WWE Network, you're not getting me the views. I'm not telling you my secrets. You can read my book. You can read my documentary when I want to speak about it. Thank you very much."
Banks was originally scheduled to face Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at SummerSlam in a rematch of their historic bout in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 37 earlier this year.
Just minutes before the match was set to begin, however, it was announced that Banks would not be able to compete. That led to Carmella being revealed as Sasha's replacement.
WWE threw out another curveball, though, when Becky Lynch made her surprise return after more than a year out of action. Lynch took out Carmella, became Belair's new challenger and beat her for the SmackDown Women's title in less than 30 seconds after hitting her with a cheap shot.
Banks remained off WWE programming for the next few weeks until Belair and Lynch squared off in a rematch at Extreme Rules last month.
The Boss made her presence felt, causing a no contest by attacking both Superstars just when it looked like Belair was trending toward regaining the title.
Banks has been on fire since then, beating Belair in a singles match on a recent episode of SmackDown and defeating Lynch on Friday's episode of SmackDown in a non-title match.
Sasha will have an opportunity to win back the SmackDown Women's title next Thursday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, when she faces both Lynch and Belair in a Triple Threat match at Crown Jewel.

Roman Reigns Talks AEW; The Rock Not Appearing at WWE Survivor Series; AEW Contracts
Oct 15, 2021
ORLANDO, FLORIDA - OCTOBER 30: In this image released on November 08, WWE Star Roman Reigns poses ahead of the MTV EMA's 2020 on October 30, 2020 in Orlando, United States. The MTV EMA's aired on November 08, 2020. (Photo by WWE, INC./(c) WWE, INC. via Getty Images)
Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe and All Elite Wrestling.
Reigns Doesn't View AEW as Competition
The battle between WWE and AEW is perhaps the hottest story in pro wrestling currently, but arguably the biggest star in the business has a different perspective.
In an interview with Mike DeStefano of Complex, WWE universal champion Roman Reigns was asked if he views AEW as competition for WWE, to which he responded:
"So me, I don't see the real competition [with AEW] because I think their fanbase legitimately is a hardcore fan base. So there's like a ceiling and a built-in ground to that viewership. [The WWE is] trying to connect with everyone. We're trying to connect with the mainstream. We're trying to pull in the casual fan. We're trying to engage the new viewer, while also servicing our hardcore fan base and give them compelling stories to fulfill them as well.
"I don't know if I've said it before, but I've said it before, when the audience is probably the biggest character in your show, that's strange to me. You'll hear it all the time, the reviews and the comparisons. I think because they are the new kids on the block, they're the cool kids in town I guess because of how premature and how novel it kind of still is, I think they're still being babied by these hardcore wrestling fans. Which is fine. That's great. I don't think anybody's going to ever, especially from a performance standpoint say, 'Oh no, there's more opportunities out there? That sucks.' So it's not a bad thing. It's a great thing for professional wrestling. It's just a weird argument because there's so much bias and there's so much, 'I'm on this side and I'm not gonna open my mind to the other side.' And it goes both ways."
As Reigns alluded to, AEW undoubtedly has a loyal and rabid fanbase, but that hasn't necessarily translated into AEW truly challenging WWE from a television ratings perspective.
AEW Dynamite did consistently post better viewership and ratings in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic than NXT when they were both on Wednesday nights, but Raw and SmackDown remain well ahead.
SmackDown's Friday show oftentimes doubles Dynamite's viewership and Raw's Monday show has maintained a strong lead as well, although Dynamite did best Raw in the demo on a couple of occasions.
Meanwhile, AEW Rampage's viewership has dropped off significantly since topping 1 million for CM Punk's debut, as it set a new low last week with just 502,000 viewers.
Reigns also suggested that he doesn't concern himself with AEW since he believes he is the best all-around performer in wrestling:
"As far as competition, not to me. There might be some other people on our roster who maybe think they need to dig deep and get better as a performer and what they do out there at the art form, but there's nobody in the whole world, any other promotion, in WWE…I'm better at this art form than everybody else. And I stand on that. That's the totality of it. I'm not just talking about, 'Oh, his spots are so good and he counters real well.' That stuff don't mean anything to me. When you tally it all up, nobody touches me in this business."
It is difficult to argue too much with The Tribal Chief's assessment given what he has accomplished since returning from a hiatus in August 2020.
Reigns turned heel upon his return and has gone on to turn in the best performances of his career, both in the ring and from a character perspective. He has also now been in possession of the Universal Championship for well over a year.
Reigns has consistently been the best thing on WWE programming and carries himself as a massive star, so having him in the fold is a significant factor that gives WWE the edge over other promotions.
The Rock Reportedly Not Appearing at Survivor Series
While there had been rumors about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appearing at WWE Survivor Series next month, those plans have reportedly fallen through.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), The Rock has other commitments that will make appearing at Survivor Series impossible.
Specifically, The Rock will be in Australia for filming of the second season of his sitcom Young Rock. Meltzer noted that COVID-19 regulations, including the need to quarantine, will preclude anyone involved with the show from going back and forth between the United States and Australia during that timeframe.
Survivor Series is set for Nov. 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It would have marked the 25-year anniversary of The Rock's WWE debut, as he had his first official WWE match at Survivor Series 1996 under the name Rocky Maivia.
It was originally reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast in July that The Rock was planned for Survivor Series. The belief at that time was that it could be the precursor to a match against Reigns at WrestleMania 38 in Dallas next year.
If The Rock does not appear at Survivor Series, it calls into question whether a match with Reigns will happen at WrestleMania in April.
It seems inevitable that the dream match will eventually come to pass since Reigns and The Rock are real-life cousins, but it is possible WrestleMania 39 in Inglewood, California, could be a more realistic target.
Key AEW Contracts Reportedly Expiring Soon
AEW is coming up on the three-year mark since it was officially founded, and that reportedly means some significant contracts are reaching their conclusions.
Although he did not specify precisely who has contracts that are set to expire, Meltzer (h/t Michael Perry of Ringside News) reported that "a lot of key deals" will be up in either 2022 or 2023.
Meltzer's report came on the heels of Scorpio Sky recently saying he signed a five-year extension with AEW.
Britt Baker, the reigning AEW women's world champion, is another top performer who reportedly signed a new contract with the company recently as well.
In terms of performers who have been with AEW since at or near the start of the company, some of the bigger names include Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Chris Jericho.
Of that group, Jericho is likely the only one with even a slight chance of leaving since he is 50 years of age and the others are executive vice presidents.
Some of the younger, up-and-coming talents who have been with AEW the entire time include MJF, Darby Allin, Jungle Boy and Sammy Guevara.
Signing any of AEW's top stars would be a major coup for WWE or any other wrestling company, but there is no indication that any top talent plan to leave as of now.

Becky Lynch Talks Possible Ronda Rousey WWE Return, Crown Jewel, More
Oct 15, 2021
RALEIGH, NC - JULY 25: Becky Lynch attends the GalaxyCon Raleigh 2019 at Raleigh Convention Center on July 25, 2019 in Raleigh, North Carolina. (Photo by Bobby Bank/Getty Images)
SmackDown Women's champion Becky Lynch addressed several topics in an interview with TMZ Sports on Thursday, including her rivalry with Ronda Rousey.
Lynch was asked about Rousey because they faced each other in the main event of WrestleMania 35 in a Triple Threat that also included Charlotte Flair. The topic of Rousey also came up since Rousey gave birth to her first child in September, while Lynch had her first child last December:
When asked to give Rousey some advice, The Man said: "Don't [come back], cause I'm still on top, Ronda, you won't like it. That's my advice."
Lynch pinned Rousey in the main event of WrestleMania 35 to become both the Raw and SmackDown Women's champion. Rousey left WWE after that to focus on starting a family, and she has not had a match since.
Lynch, too, took a hiatus, relinquishing the Raw Women's title to Asuka in spring 2020 so she could go on maternity leave.
Lynch made her surprise return at SummerSlam in August after more than a year away, and she beat Bianca Belair in an impromptu match that lasted less than 30 seconds to win the SmackDown Women's Championship.
Regarding how her return has gone thus far, Lynch said: "It's been crazy ... It went from zero to 100 real quick. Coming back, and coming back on top after not wrestling for a year and a half. It's been wild, but it's been amazing. And, my baby comes along everywhere with me."
Before Lynch's hiatus, she had been champion for more than a year and established herself as one of the most popular and recognizable female wrestlers of all time.
Because of that, the manner in which she came back was somewhat surprising, as she used underhanded tactics to beat Belair and took on a heel persona.
At WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia next week, Lynch will put the SmackDown Women's title on the line against both Belair and Banks in a Triple Threat, and The Man figures to play the clear heel in that bout with Belair as the babyface and Banks as the tweener.
Despite her villainous persona, Lynch provided a positive outlook on the match and the importance of it taking place in Saudi Arabia:
"I don't think that you can have a bigger match in women's wrestling—hell, in wrestling—than myself vs. Sasha vs. Bianca. That is three WrestleMania main eventers right there in one ring.
"...But look, I think it's also so important that we have the biggest match in women's pro wrestling in Saudi Arabia. ... I think if we can show little girls over there what's possible, so even maybe one will have a look and say, 'Oh, maybe that's what I want to do. Oh, that's possible, I can do that,' and if we can encourage one person to know what's possible, then that means everything."
Lynch vs. Belair vs. Banks will be only the third women's match to ever take place in Saudi Arabia, and it will have the highest stakes yet with the SmackDown Women's title on the line.
All three women have wrestled each other before, but never in a Triple Threat match, meaning there should be no shortage of interest in the first-time-ever clash.

Jorge Masvidal Says 'I Respect the F--k' out of Chris Jericho Ahead of AEW Rampage
Oct 14, 2021
JACKSONVILLE, FL - APRIL 24: Jorge Masvidal before his fight against Kamaru Usman in the octagon for a 5 round welterweight bout during the UFC 261: Usman vs Masvidal 2 Event at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on April 24, 2021 in Jacksonville, Florida. Jorge Masvidal and Chris Jericho might be on opposite sides for Friday's edition of AEW Rampage, but the the UFC star has plenty of respect for the wrestling legend.
"I respect the f--k out of [Jericho]," Masvidal told Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso. "He’s done this at the highest level for 30 years. If I see him anywhere else, I’m buying him drinks all night. But I only have one speed. When I see him in the ring, it’s a different story."
Jericho's longevity is something to behold. The 50-year-old first ventured to Japan in 1991, giving him three decades in the business. Beyond the amount of time he has spent in the ring, Le Champion has found ways to continue reinventing his on-screen character and deliver compelling matches.
But that probably won't count for much in Masvidal's mind when the bell rings at Rampage.
Gamebred was one of multiple MMA fighters to come to the aid of American Top Team founder Dan Lambert at Rampage on Sept. 24. He surveyed the damage being done before hitting Jericho with a running knee, emulating his famous knockout of Ben Askren at UFC 239.
That set the stage for Friday's clash, pitting Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager against former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos, Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page, with Masvidal in their corner.
While he isn't a combatant in the match, the Miami native figures to make his presence felt in his hometown.
WWE Rumors: TLC PPV in December Being Skipped for 'Day 1' PPV on New Year's Day
Oct 14, 2021
UKRAINE - 2021/08/25: In this photo illustration a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) logo is seen on a smartphone and a pc screen. (Photo Illustration by Pavlo Gonchar/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images)
WWE is reportedly no longer planning to hold a pay-per-view event in December this year.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), WWE was originally going to have a pay-per-view at Allstate Arena in mid-December, but the show has been scrapped.
Instead, WWE plans to count the Day 1 pay-per-view in Atlanta on Jan. 1, 2022, as its December pay-per-view. The 2022 Royal Rumble will also occur later that month on Jan. 29 in St. Louis.
WWE's December pay-per-view has traditionally been the TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs event. In fact, TLC has taken place in December in 11 of the past 12 years.
The only exception was 2017 when TLC took place in October rather than its usual December slot.
With TLC no longer slated for December, it is unclear if WWE plans to place it earlier in the PPV rotation in 2022, if it is going to simply skip the event and bring it back in December 2022 or if it is going to get rid of the pay-per-view completely.
From a logistical standpoint, not holding a pay-per-view this December may be a smart move on WWE's part, as it will allow more time to build toward Day 1.
With Survivor Series set for Nov. 21, WWE will have over a month to prepare for Day 1. Had TLC remained on the schedule, WWE would have had less than a month between Survivor Series and TLC, and likely only two weeks between TLC and Day 1.
The pay-per-view calendar for the rest of 2021 and start of 2022 now feels much less cluttered, which should give WWE better opportunities to tell some compelling stories.

Tony Khan Says Raw Sucked; Drew McIntyre Eyes Brock Lesnar; Roman Reigns Set for Raw
Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Khan Takes Shot at WWE Raw
AEW President Tony Khan continued to stir the pot Tuesday by taking a shot at Monday night Raw, one of WWE's flagship shows.
During a discussion about Friday night's episode of WWE SmackDown on FS1 doing a 30-minute overrun and overlapping the first 30 minutes of AEW Rampage on TNT, Khan didn't hold back regarding his thoughts on the WWE product.
Appearing on My Mom's Basement with Robbie Fox of Barstool Sports (h/t WrestlingInc.com's Liam Crowley), Khan offered the following critique of Raw: "We'll see what happens. I'm not saying for sure we'll win, and maybe the odds are against us in some ways. But we're going to give a better show. I know. If you don't believe me, watch the go-home show they did last night, because it sucked."
Recently, Khan has gone to great lengths to stoke the proverbial flames of competition between AEW and WWE.
After WWE announced its "super-sized" edition of SmackDown on FS1 following its bump from Fox for the MLB playoffs, Khan tweeted the following:
I saw you’re doing a half hour head-to-head with us. I can’t wait to finally beat your main show head-to-head. It’s been a long time coming. See you next Friday for #AEWRampage on @AEWonTNT!
Khan also announced a "Buy In" show airing live on YouTube beginning at 9 p.m. ET. Khan initially moved Bryan Danielson vs. Bobby Fish from Dynamite to the Buy In before upping the ante and making it Danielson vs. Minoru Suzuki instead.
WWE has been accused at times of attempting to counter-program AEW, but Khan seemingly isn't hiding the fact that he is trying to counter-program WWE on Friday.
Rampage has a chance to compete with SmackDown on Friday since TNT is a far more popular and watched channel than FS1, but with WWE advertising a Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch main event, SmackDown will undoubtedly be tough to take down.
McIntyre Wants Rematch vs. Lesnar
Drew McIntyre beat Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 36 to win the WWE Championship, but the Scottish Superstar wants to run it back.
Appearing on WWE's The Bump (h/t Jack Waynick of Ringside News), McIntyre said: "I'm always excited to get into the ring with the absolute best. There's not many that are as good or as physical as Brock Lesnar. At WrestleMania, I did defeat him in five minutes. But I would like the opportunity to face Brock again and in front of a live audience."
As McIntyre referenced, his WrestleMania match against Lesnar was a short one and it took place with no fans in attendance because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After Lesnar lost to McIntyre, he went on hiatus for over a year before finally returning to WWE at SummerSlam in August.
Lesnar immediately set his sights on Roman Reigns and the Universal Championship, and that continues to be the case, as The Beast Incarnate will challenge Reigns for the title at Crown Jewel next week.
Since Lesnar is a free agent and not tied to any single brand, he can essentially do whatever he pleases whether he wins the Universal title or not.
McIntyre got moved from Raw to SmackDown as part of the draft, and it seems likely he will be involved with Reigns in the not-too-distant future.
A McIntyre vs. Lesnar rematch seems like a fairly sure thing as well, especially since fans would undoubtedly love to experience that battle of behemoths live.
Reigns Advertised for Nov. 29 Raw
WWE is pulling out the big guns for the Nov. 29 episode of Raw at UBS Arena on Long Island, New York.
The arena announced Tuesday that SmackDown Superstar and Universal champion Roman Reigns will be present for the event:
🔥 JUST ANNOUNCED: “The Head of the Table” Universal Champion @WWERomanReigns will be live at UBS Arena for @WWE Monday Night RAW on 11/29! #WWERAW#WWELongIsland
UBS Arena is the new home of the NHL's New York Islanders, and it is set to officially open Nov. 20, just nine days before Raw is held at the venue.
The announcement came amid WWE's struggles to sell tickets for the event, especially compared to an episode of AEW Dynamite running at UBS Arena on Dec. 8.
WrestleTix tweeted a breakdown of the sales Tuesday, noting that AEW had sold about 7,500 tickets compared to WWE's 2,800:
UBS Arena, Belmont Park - Long Island, NY
WWE Raw • Nov 29 Available Tickets => 4,397 Tickets Distributed => 2,837/7,234 (39%)
While there is no hard evidence that WWE made the Reigns announcement to combat AEW, there is no question the decision was made in order to boost its own ticket sales.
Reigns is WWE's biggest star and draw among full-time Superstars, and a chance to see The Tribal Chief could provide the type of boost WWE is looking for.
Although Reigns is part of the SmackDown roster via the WWE Draft, WWE has shown a penchant for relaxing the brand split rules in certain situations.
It isn't yet known if Reigns will be on the televised portion of the Nov. 29 Raw or if he will take part in a dark match after the show, but it will be a special treat for the live audience regardless.

WWE Legend The Rock Discusses Possibility of Becoming USA President
Oct 12, 2021

Legendary WWE Superstar and Hollywood acting megastar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson addressed the possibility of running for President of the United States of America on Tuesday.
In an interview with Chris Heath of Vanity Fair, Johnson didn't commit to running for president at some point, but he didn't completely shoot down the idea either.
The Rock called the idea of running for president "humbling" before adding that he has done "a small amount of research and analysis to see where this comes from and to see what it could look like in the future."
Johnson, 49, also said "indicators are all very positive—in, for example, 2024, and in, for example, 2028," regarding his chances of succeeding should he choose to run for president.
The Rock concluded the presidential discussion by expressing his love for America, but admitting that politics remain something of a foreign concept to him:
You know, at the end of the day, I don't know the first thing about politics. I don't know the first thing about policy. I care deeply about our country. I care about every f--king American who bleeds red, and that's all of them. And—there's no delusion here—I may have some decent leadership qualities, but that doesn't necessarily make me a great presidential candidate. That's where I am today.
Johnson has discussed a potential presidential run many times over the past few years, including during an interview with Erin Jensen of USA Today in February when he left the possibility open should there be enough support behind the idea of him running:
I would consider a presidential run in the future if that's what the people wanted. Truly I mean that, and I'm not flippant in any way with my answer. That would be up to the people. ... So I would wait, and I would listen. I would have my finger on the pulse, my ear to the ground.
Back in 2016, Johnson said in an interview with British GQ that he hadn't "ruled politics out," and called running for governor or president "alluring."
Johnson later said in 2018 that he was seriously considering running for president in either 2024 or 2028.
Young Rock, which is the NBC sitcom about Johnson's life that he produced, even touched on the subject of him running for president in a fictional manner.
In between flashbacks of Johnson's life growing up as the son of wrestler Rocky Johnson, the present-day Johnson was interviewed by Randall Park in anticipation of a presidential run in 2032.
Johnson clearly hasn't run away from the idea of running for president and has even embraced it in certain ways, meaning there may be hope for his supporters that The Rock could someday make a bid for the White House.
