The Undertaker Removes WWE from Twitter Bio Amid WrestleMania Rumors

The Undertaker and WWE could be on the verge of a split.

Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co noted The Deadman recently removed all mention of WWE from his social media profiles. Undertaker is expected to be absent from WrestleMania for the first time in 19 years.

Perhaps the greatest WrestleMania performer in history, Undertaker boasts a 23-2 record at the event and won his first 21 matches until Brock Lesnar defeated him at WrestleMania 29.

It's unclear why The Phenom would remove WWE from his social media, barring some sort of contractual issue. He most recently wrestled alongside Kane against Triple H and Shawn Michaels at the Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia in November.

The match drew mostly negative reviews and was hindered by Triple H suffering a torn pectoral muscle early in the bout.

Undertaker appeared at WrestleMania 34, defeating John Cena in less than three minutes. The Champ spent most of the WrestleMania cycle calling out The Deadman to no avail, until he emerged as Cena left the ring following a win over Elias and defeated him in a squash.

His appearance was a bit of a surprise given Undertaker appeared to retire a year earlier at WrestleMania 33. The Deadman took in a huge ovation from the crowd and put his hat in the center of the ring after losing to Roman Reigns, with most expecting that to be the last time he'd set foot in a WWE ring.

Instead, it's looking like Taker's last match was that clash of legends in Saudi Arabia.

How to Book Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins Feud for WWE WrestleMania 35

Feb 5, 2019

If Seth Rollins is going to be the Superstar who finally slays "The Beast" Brock Lesnar, The Road to WrestleMania 35 should be paved in gold storytelling.

After watching Lesnar compete in several David vs. Goliath angles recently against elite wrestlers like AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Finn Balor, it's essential WWE crafts a unique storyline that builds to a massive payoff at the biggest pay-per-view of the year.

With over two months to fill and WWE Creative's lackluster track record, Rollins should continue selling the injuries that forced him out of action Monday. According to John Pollock of Post Wrestling, he is legitimately dealing with an injury and could miss as much as a month.

Now is the perfect opportunity to give The Architect enough time to rest and recover before the final push to WrestleMania. With the Elimination Chamber card already stacked and enough talent on the roster to make Fastlane unforgettable, WWE doesn't need him to return to in-ring action until March.

It may be months before their Universal Championship match on April 7, but it's never too early to start setting the stage for the epic battle. Whether Rollins is working hurt or not, Lesnar should be trying to sniff out what the injury is during the build and focus on exploiting the damage.

As strange as it sounds on The Road to WrestleMania, both men being out of action could be a blessing in disguise for the long-term program. With the company forced to put the angle on the back-burner, the storytelling won't have the chance to get stale.

When Lesnar and Rollins are finally back on television together, it will feel special instead of overexposed. The slight delay in the angle will not only get the challenger back to 100 percent health, but it also creates a genuine excitement and anticipation for their matchup.

In the weeks when Lesnar isn't there and Rollins is on the shelf, WWE should use video promos sporadically to keep the feud fresh on everyone's mind without forcing them to get physical.

Just as Samoa Joe and The Beast used the via-satellite promo battle with success in their feud, Rollins, Lesnar and Paul Heyman should do the same and burn it down on the mic.

Once The Architect is cleared for action, though, the heat is on, and the war of words can finally get physical.

After a few weeks of warm-up matchups against some of the heel gatekeepers on Raw—look no further than Baron Corbin, Drew McIntyre or Bobby Lashley—Lesnar should finally return to attack Rollins and get the upper hand.

The Road to WrestleMania for both men should only get physical a few weeks before the April PPV to keep it fresh. Once they do, though, The Beast should dominate the Royal Rumble winner throughout the build to their title bout.

Despite the constant and ferocious attacks, Rollins should just keep asking for more.

With a leg that was previously injured and an angry version of The Beast unleashed on the world, The Architect getting destroyed on a weekly basis will get the WWE Universe fully invested in his character. As a result, the crowd at MetLife Stadium will be more rabid than ever for the possible title change.

Instead of Rollins standing tall on Raw, his vengeance should come at WrestleMania 35 when he's holding the universal title high over his head.

Is Seth Rollins Capable of Carrying WWE Raw on the Road to WrestleMania 35?

Feb 5, 2019
Seth Rollins' Road to WrestleMania 35 might be the only thing keeping WWE Raw afloat in the coming months.
Seth Rollins' Road to WrestleMania 35 might be the only thing keeping WWE Raw afloat in the coming months.

Despite the McMahon family promising a "new era" in WWE, Raw remains in the doldrums and will need to be shaken up considerably between now and WrestleMania 35. Perhaps the only man capable of carrying the torch in the weeks and months ahead will be Seth Rollins.

Since the Brand Split was brought back in mid-2016, Rollins has been positioned as one of the red brand's top talents. Although he has yet to receive a run as the universal champion, it's possible his time will come on April 7 when he challenges Brock Lesnar for the belt.

For the past three years, The Architect has been the undisputed workhorse of Raw and has made the most of everything he's been a part of, meaning his upcoming program with The Beast Incarnate is bound to be no exception.

Rollins was at the forefront of the tag team wrestling renaissance in 2017 before restoring prestige to the Intercontinental Championship the following year. Granted, his recent rivalry with Dean Ambrose fell well below fans' expectations, but that hardly hindered his momentum heading into the Royal Rumble.

The Architect entered at No. 10 and outlasted everyone to win the Rumble match and punch his ticket to the main event of The Show of Shows. His outstanding performance only further cemented his status as the most beloved babyface on the red brand.

He wasted little time in choosing Lesnar to be his 'Mania opponent on the following night's Raw, but The Beast laid him out with multiple F5s to close the show.

According to John Pollock of Post Wrestling, Rollins suffered some sort of injury in the last few weeks that will keep him out of action for the next month or so. While he won't be wrestling at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view on Feb. 17, he'll still likely appear on Raw in a non-physical capacity.

Rollins was in a similar situation two years ago when he was legitimately hurt during an angle with Samoa Joe on the post-Rumble edition of Raw. He didn't compete in a single match from Jan. 23 to WrestleMania 33, yet he showed up almost every week to call out Triple H and cut some of the best promos of his career.

There's no reason why this year's Road to WrestleMania should be any different for the 32-year-old, and once he is eventually cleared to compete again, WWE fans will have even more of an incentive to pay attention to the Monday night broadcast.

Unfortunately, Raw has a ton of time to fill, so unless Rollins is involved in every segment on the show in the build to WrestleMania (which would obviously run the risk of overexposure for him), he alone can't make an entire episode of Raw must-see.

Rollins can certainly play his part in ensuring the red brand is as exciting as possible, but sometimes his own creative direction isn't enough of a reason for fans to want to sit through the three-hour marathon.

His latest feud with Ambrose was the perfect example of that, as WWE barely scratched the surface of what they could have done with them and instead kept things fairly formulaic and tame.

If there aren't any other compelling stories being told, then overall interest in the brand won't rise, regardless of how hot Rollins is right now.

Thankfully, his chase for the championship will be tough to botch, but it should be noted that he'll have to promote his 'Mania match mostly on his own with Lesnar's Raw appearances far and few between.

The inevitable promo battles between Rollins and Paul Heyman should be stellar, but beyond that, it will be a struggle for The Architect to find new topics to talk about if he isn't in the ring.

As for the rest of Raw, it's entirely dependent on what WWE has in mind for the Road to WrestleMania and how much of a focal point Rollins will be. If he continues to take center stage, there's a chance Raw will be the least bit bearable and he will entice fans to tune in to see his segments and watch whatever else is worthwhile.

Raw has been referred to by many as "Monday Night Rollins" for some time now, and if WWE can stay the course with the 2019 men's Royal Rumble winner, he may be the sole saving grace of the show through WrestleMania season.

Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey Is the No-Brainer Main Event of WWE WrestleMania 35

Jan 29, 2019

The WrestleMania 35 card will be stacked with incredible in-ring battles and dream matchups, but the bout pitting Becky Lynch against Raw women's champion Ronda Rousey must main-event WWE's biggest show of the year.

The main event should feature the most popular wrestler in the world right now—and Rousey.

Rousey is the most prominent mainstream star employed by WWE and is destined to be the first woman to main-event a WrestleMania. As a former UFC champion and an actress who has been in several marquee films, she will draw the most mainstream attention to the product.

As she told Lynch Monday, she has been one of the biggest names in sports and entertainment for a decade. While Rousey is a household name, there is no wrestler in the business today with as much momentum and fan support as The Irish Lass Kicker.

At this point, Lynch is getting the loudest reactions of anyone on the roster, as chants of her name are even heard during other matches when fans get bored. While it may not be at the level Daniel Bryan reached during the build to WrestleMania 30, her popularity is through the roof and she should be following the same trajectory as The Beard did five years ago.

Lynch was already popular with the WWE Universe, but it was her heel turn on Charlotte Flair that got the momentum rolling. The Man took it to another level when she led an invasion of Raw, brutally attacked Rousey and walked out of the building covered in her own blood.

With Rousey drawing the mainstream media attention WWE desperately craves and Lynch satisfying the hardcore supporters who want to see her get what she deserves after the best run of her career, this is the perfect matchup to appease the vast majority of wrestling fans.

Concerning other options for the main event of WrestleMania, Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar will put on an incredible match, but fans have seen it before. On the other hand, the WWE Championship has not main-evented many pay-per-views since moving to SmackDown, regardless of how great AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan have been over the last year.

WWE has made so much history regarding main event matches and stipulations with women in recent years that being the headlining act at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on April 7 is a foregone conclusion. While many female Superstars on the roster deserve the honor, Rousey and Lynch have the perfect combination of popularity and momentum to earn the chance.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Wrestling Inc.) is reporting the current plan is for Rousey vs. Lynch to become a Triple Threat match with Charlotte Flair added "somewhere down the line." The Queen is without a doubt one of the most popular Superstars in the company, but she doesn't have the same mainstream credibility as Rousey nor the momentum of Lynch.

Instead, Charlotte should be fighting Asuka for the SmackDown Women's Championship.

The key for Rousey and Lynch will be the story. The feud started with a great segment from the 2019 Royal Rumble winner showing up on Raw, and it was followed up with arguably the champion's best promo since joining the company. WWE Creative must now follow it up by telling a convincing story over the next two months that culminates in the most anticipated singles match of the year.

With the clout Rousey carries in the industry as the biggest star in its ranks, and with the respect Lynch has earned in recent months by getting the WWE Universe fully invested in her character, the company has the ideal chance to build a program worthy of the main event spot at WrestleMania.

If given the proper story leading into the match and the main event spot, Rousey and Lynch will not only make history by being the first women to main-event the biggest PPV of the year, but they would also steal the show as the best in-ring bout of the night.

Brock Lesnar did, in fact, throw the WWE Universal Championship toward Vince McMahon following his victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34 last April.

Immediately after the 2019 Royal Rumble pay-per-view, WWE Network aired a behind-the-scenes documentary focused on WrestleMania 34 as part of its WWE 24 series. In the documentary, Lesnar is shown tossing the title in McMahon's direction and walking through the curtain to the backstage area.

A Twitter user provided a clip of the incident:

Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin reported immediately after WrestleMania that Lesnar and McMahon had gotten into a "real-life verbal altercation."

"We're told there's a belief that Brock may have gone off script a little bit near the end of the match, but we've been unable to confirm if this is true," Satin wrote.

Lesnar and McMahon certainly appear to have worked past whatever issues they had at WrestleMania.

Lesnar has wrestled five times since then. Even after dropping the universal title to Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, The Beast Incarnate was crowned the champion again at Crown Jewel last November after Reigns relinquished the belt.

Lesnar defeated Finn Balor at Royal Rumble on Sunday, all but ensuring he'll remain the world champion heading into WrestleMania 35.
