Bills Release 1st Renderings of New Football Stadium Opening in 2026

The Buffalo Bills are scheduled to begin play in a new stadium in 2026, and the first artist renderings were released Thursday.

Renderings of both the outside and inside of the stadium were tweeted by the Bills, giving fans their first sneak peek at the stadium plans seven months after an agreement was reached.

The team announced on March 28 that it had agreed to a 30-year lease for a new $1.4 billion stadium that will be built across the street from the current stadium in Orchard Park, New York.

While the renderings suggest the Bills are moving full steam ahead with their plans, the deal has yet to be fully finalized, as the deadline was extended into December.

The new Bills stadium is being designed by Populous, a firm that has already designed 17 NFL stadiums, as well as Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the English Premier League soccer club Tottenham Hotspur.

In many ways, the Bills' stadium renderings are reminiscent of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, both in terms of the sleek exterior and the interior, which features an overhang that should protect fans from the elements to some degree.

While there had been speculation regarding the Bills attempting to commission a stadium that featured a dome or retractable roof, the organization stuck with the open-air concept, which ensures that opposing teams will still have to deal with the cold and snowy Buffalo winters.

Perhaps the most eye-catching aspect of the rendering is a large statue of three buffaloes situated in front of the stadium.

After spending their first 13 seasons at War Memorial Stadium, the Bills moved into their current stadium in 1973. Currently known as Highmark Stadium, the venue was previously called Rich Stadium, Ralph Wilson Stadium, New Era Field and Bills Stadium.

The plan is for construction to begin on the new stadium in spring 2023 across the street from Highmark Stadium, ensuring that the Bills will be able to make a smooth transition come 2026.

Report: Dolphins' Christian Wilkins Denies Grabbing Bills' Josh Allen Near Groin

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is appealing his $13,261 fine for unsportsmanlike conduct after allegedly grabbing near the groin of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen last week.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Wilkins denies the allegation that led to the fine. Allen and Wilkins were involved in a skirmish during the fourth quarter of the Dolphins' 21-19 win over their division rival last week, resulting in a 15-yard penalty for Buffalo when Allen ripped off Wilkins' helmet.

While Allen was penalized on the field, the NFL did not issue him a fine, indicating an investigation found Wilkins' initial transgression caused the fracas.

"It is what it is. He is a competitor. He's been known for that, going back to college. I should know that and shouldn't let it get the best of me, but sometimes you see red and things like that happen," Allen said on the Kyle Brandt's Basement podcast. "I'm not here to make any claims or throw anybody under the bus, but I shouldn't have let the emotions get the best of me."

Wilkins was involved in a similar incident during the 2016 Fiesta Bowl while at Clemson. Cameras showed him grabbing the behind and putting his hand between the legs of Ohio State receiver Curtis Samuel. After the game, Wilkins said he was "just being silly."

Wilkins is denying the behavior this time, but the fact that the NFL fined him indicates it has some sort of hard evidence of him grabbing Allen; the league does not typically fine based on hearsay. If the fine is upheld, Wilkins will again have to answer questions about behavior some previously felt bordered on assault.

Bills Fans Make Push to Donate to Tua Tagovailoa's Charity After QB's Concussion

Bills Mafia rallied en masse to donate money to the charity of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after he suffered a concussion Thursday night.

Burt Trembly, executive director for the Tua Foundation, told the Buffalo News the charity has received more than 1,000 donations since Thursday night.

Trembly added he and the other foundation officials are "just grateful for all the support" from fans of the Buffalo Bills, who have a reputation for donating to the charities of players from other teams.

Tagovailoa exited Miami's 27-15 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday after his head hit the turf during a sack.

Concern for the 24-year-old was heightened because he appeared to be suffering from concussion-like symptoms less than one week earlier in a 21-19 victory over the Bills. The Dolphins classified it as a back injury.

ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques reported the NFL Players Association fired the unaffiliated neurotrauma consultant who cleared the Dolphins quarterback to return against Buffalo, citing "several mistakes" by the consultant.

Tagovailoa said Friday he's "feeling much better and focused on recovering so I can get back out on the field with my teammates."

Former Pro Bowl CB Xavier Rhodes, Bills Agree to Contract

The Buffalo Bills reportedly addressed their cornerback depth Tuesday.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the AFC East team signed Xavier Rhodes. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler noted the veteran will begin with the practice squad and have the opportunity to be signed to the active roster.

There is a connection in place, as Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier was Rhodes' head coach on the Minnesota Vikings during the cornerback's rookie season in 2013.

Rhodes was a first-round pick in 2013 and has played for the Vikings and Indianapolis Colts during his career. His resume includes three Pro Bowl nods and an All-Pro selection, with the latter coming during the 2017 season in Minnesota when he tallied 56 tackles, 10 passes defended and two interceptions.

He appeared in 13 games for the Colts last season and finished with 39 tackles, seven passes defended and one interception, earning a solid but unspectacular Pro Football Focus player grade of 61.8.

While Rhodes, 32, may be past his prime, he comes to a Buffalo team that needs more depth in the secondary.

Safety Micah Hyde is out for the season with a neck injury, and cornerback Dane Jackson was released from the hospital after suffering a neck injury during the team's Week 2 game against the Tennessee Titans.

What's more, cornerback Tre'Davious White is yet to play a game this season as he recovers from a torn ACL he suffered during the 2021 campaign, and rookie cornerback Christian Benford suffered a broken hand during the team's Week 3 game against the Miami Dolphins.

There is a need for veteran help for a potential Super Bowl contender, and Rhodes fits the bill as Buffalo prepares for a Week 4 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Josh Allen: Bills 'Freaking Loved' OC Ken Dorsey's Meltdown in Loss vs. Dolphins

Video of Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey having a meltdown following his team's loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday made the rounds on the Internet, but online viewers weren't the only ones amused by the situation.

The Bills players were as well.

"Our guys freaking loved seeing that," quarterback Josh Allen said during a discussion with NFL Network's Kyle Brandt (h/t Robert Zeglinski of USA Today's For The Win). "As a player looking at your offensive coordinator, having that emotion and care for the game, and you prepare so hard … he wants to win. He wants to do everything in his power to win. I know people might be making a big deal of it, but as players, we freaking love seeing that."

The tantrum was part of a back-and-forth ending to the contest between AFC East rivals.

Buffalo was down two points with one more possession and a chance to win after a memorable safety that saw Dolphins punter Thomas Morstead kick the ball into the backside of his teammate, causing it to go out the back of the end zone.

However, time expired on the visitors when Isaiah McKenzie was unable to get out of bounds on the final play, clinching the 21-19 defeat.

Dorsey reacted to the play by slamming his headset, hat and papers around him, which was all caught on camera:

"It was an intense game," Dorsey told reporters Monday. "… I'm watching my guys give everything they have in them. … It was a playoff atmosphere. … I reacted that way, and that's definitely something I'm going to learn from and make sure it's corrected moving forward."

Yet it's clear Dorsey's desire to win stood out to the players given Allen's comments.

Head coach Sean McDermott also said he appreciated the passion even if he told reporters he let Dorsey know "it's important that we as leaders keep our poise and model that to our players."

Next up for the Bills is a showdown with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, and Dorsey will certainly be under the spotlight in what figures to be a challenging game.

Ken Dorsey on Viral Meltdown Video from Bills Loss: 'It Was an Intense Game'

It is a testament to just how much video of Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey throwing a tantrum after Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins circulated that it was a major talking point coming out of a two-point battle between potential Super Bowl contenders.

"It was an intense game," Dorsey told reporters Monday. "… I'm watching my guys give everything they have in them. … It was a playoff atmosphere. … I reacted that way, and that's definitely something I'm going to learn from and make sure it's corrected moving forward."

After time expired on Buffalo's 21-19 defeat, the CBS broadcast captured video of Dorsey throwing down his headset and hat before he slammed his notebook and papers:

Dorsey was right about it being an intense game.

The AFC East rivals were each 2-0 coming into the possible playoff preview, and it appeared as if Buffalo was going to earn a road win when it scored touchdowns on two of its opening three possessions. However, the Dolphins answered with two touchdowns of their own before halftime.

The second half was more of a defensive battle with the teams combining for three points in the third quarter. Chase Edmonds' touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Miami the lead for good, but Buffalo had the opportunity to win it after the ball went out of the back of the end zone for a safety when Thomas Morstead punted it into the backside of his own teammate.

Yet time expired on the Bills during the ensuing possession when Isaiah McKenzie was unable to get out of bounds, prompting Dorsey's reaction.

Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters he discussed the situation with the first-year offensive coordinator and stressed "it's important that we as leaders keep our poise and model that to our players" even if he appreciated the desire to win.

There was surely some built-up frustration from Dorsey before the moment considering the Bills scored a combined 72 points in the first two wins against the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans but struggled mightily on offense for extended stretches against the Dolphins.

Buffalo doesn't have much time to ruminate over its first loss with a showdown against a fellow AFC contender in the Baltimore Ravens awaiting in Week 4.

While the host Ravens are 2-1 in large part because of Lamar Jackson's individual brilliance, their defense allowed a combined 68 points the last two games (including 42 to Miami). Josh Allen and Co. should find more success moving the ball against Baltimore than they did against the Dolphins.

And that's good news for the headset Dorsey will be wearing.

The Buffalo Bills fell back to earth Sunday following a blistering start in the first two weeks of the 2022 NFL season.

Buffalo suffered a 21-19 defeat to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, a result that points to a new contender in the AFC East title race.

Nobody took the game harder than offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.

The Bills had multiple chances to steal this late. They couldn't capitalize on a 1st-and-goal at Miami's 2-yard line. They also had the ball in the final seconds after Miami punter Thomas Morstead kicked the ball off a teammate and through the back of the end zone for a safety.

But Josh Allen couldn't get the offense into position for the game-winning field goal.

Especially with what it could mean in the division standings when all is said and done, Buffalo could be kicking itself for failing to come away with the victory.

Allen went 42-of-63 for 400 yards and two touchdowns, but the inability to establish the run proved costly during Miami's goal-line stand late in the fourth. With 47 yards, Allen was also his team's leading rusher. Zack Moss and Devin Singletary combined for 59 yards on 13 carries.

The Bills play another AFC playoff contender, the Baltimore Ravens, in Week 4. Nobody is panicking in Northern New York right now since a win over the Ravens will undo a lot of the angst that was generated Sunday.

Bills' Micah Hyde Placed on IR with Neck Injury, Will Miss Remainder of 2022 Season

Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde will miss the remainder of the 2022 season with a neck injury, per his agent Jack Bechta.

As noted by Bills Content Coordinator Alec White, Hyde left his team's 41-7 win over the Tennessee Titans on Monday with a neck injury. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network stated that Hyde suffered a herniated disk.

The 31-year-old Hyde has played in the NFL for 10 seasons. He spent his first four years with the Green Bay Packers and his last six with the Bills.

The 2017 Pro Bowler shined for the Bills last season, corralling a team-high five interceptions for the No. 1 scoring defense in football. He and safety Jordan Poyer, who also had five picks, formed a dynamic duo in the defensive backfield.

Hyde only missed three games over his first nine seasons, but he will unfortunately be out for the remainder of the 2022 campaign.

His loss is a tough blow to a Bills defense that has suffered numerous injuries. Of note, defensive linemen Ed Oliver (ankle) and Jordan Phillips (hamstring) will be out Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.

The same goes for cornerback Dane Jackson, who suffered a neck injury on Monday that led to him being hospitalized. Thankfully, the Bills reported that Jackson avoided a major injury to his neck and spinal cord.

In addition, Poyer (foot) and defensive tackle Tim Settle (calf) are questionable for Sunday. If Poyer can't go, it will mark a seismic change in the secondary, per Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic.

As far as Hyde's safety spot goes, the spotlight is now on Jaquan Johnson, a sixth-round pick out of Miami in 2019. NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe provided some background.

Johnson played all 17 games last year (one start) and amassed 14 tackles and one interception.

A one-game suspension given to Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Bobby Hart for striking a Tennessee Titans coach during a postgame confrontation with a Titans player on Monday night was upheld.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Thursday the appeal was heard by former NFL linebacker Derrick Brooks, a hearing officer jointly appointed by the league and the Players Association.

Hart will miss Sunday's Week 3 road game against the Miami Dolphins.

The NFL's announcement didn't include any information about the Titans coach or player involved, but Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network reported Hart confronted defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons for allegedly spitting on him during the game.

Simmons' agent, Paul T. DeRousselle, denied the allegation in a statement to Wilson: "Jeffery plays the game with a lot of passion, but he plays the game the right way."

Hart is in his third stint with the Buffalo Bills after spending time on the team's practice squad on two different occasions during the 2021 season.

The 28-year-old Florida State product also spent time as Simmons' teammate with the Titans last year.

His other stops include the New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins since being selected in the seventh round of the 2015 draft.

Hart has played in both of the Bills' first two games this season in a reserve role. Tommy Doyle, who was inactive for Monday's win over Tennessee, figures to fill the depth void against Miami.

He'll be eligible to return for a Week 4 road game against the Baltimore Ravens.
