Toronto Raptors superfan Drake makes several sports references and name-drops on his newest album, Certified Lover Boy, which was released Friday.

Perhaps the most impressive was the ability to seamlessly fit the name of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo into a set of lyrics on the track "7AM On Bridle Path":

Could at least keep it a buck like Antetokounmpo

I made north of the border like Vito Rizzuto

Throwin' parties in Miami, they lovin' us mucho

With the ho ratio, I'm like David Caruso.

Drake also gave a shoutout to American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson, who missed the Tokyo Games after testing positive for marijuana at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

"And I'm like Sha'Carri, smoke 'em on and off the track," he rapped on "No Friends in the Industry".

Here's a look at some of the other sports-related mentions on the album:

  • "In the Bible": "Think I'm Tiger Woods, the way I'm teed off thе 17."
  • "The Remorse": "Can't picture bein' a hubby, finger too stubby to fit a ring on, unless Kawhi wanna run it back."

The last line is likely a reference to the infamous practice rant by Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson.

It's also no surprise Drake was able to fit a link to the Raptors on the album, though it's unlikely Kawhi Leonard will be running it back in Toronto anytime soon after signing a four-year, $176.3 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers in August. He helped lead the Raptors to the 2019 NBA title.

Certified Lover Boy is Drake's sixth studio album and his first since Scorpion in 2018.

Listen: Kanye West References Giannis, Lionel Messi on New 'Donda' Album

After three listening parties, countless track revisions and an Instagram beef with Drake, Kanye West finally delivered his anticipated Donda album Sunday morning.

If you're Lionel Messi or Giannis Antetokounmpo—and, hey, if you are, thanks for reading—it was more than worth the wait.

The soccer star and reigning NBA Finals MVP added their names to the massive list of sports references in Ye's discography. Messi shows up on standout track, "Off the Grid," with Kanye rapping: "I talk to God every day that's my bestie / They playing soccer in my backyard, I think I see Messi."

The Giannis bar has been included in every version of the album on the Playboi Carti-assisted "Junya," with the first listening event coming just weeks after the Bucks' NBA championship: "I won with the bucks, boy / Let me Giannis."

The Messi and Giannis mentions are even more notable given they're the only athletes mentioned—a surprise, considering Ye has littered his albums in the past with shoutouts.

As far as the album as a whole, it is well worth your time and arguably Kanye's best work since 2016's The Life of Pablo. That is, of course, if you can handle the nearly two-hour runtime.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo made an appearance at a taping of AEW Rampage on Wednesday.

Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel provided video of Antetokounmpo walking down the ramp to a huge ovation at UWM Panther Arena.

DeAndre G. Hoover provided images as well.

Antetokounmpo appeared with his brother and fellow Bucks forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and the two viewed the event from ringside seats.

The show is scheduled to air Friday at 10 p.m. ET on TNT.

Antetokounmpo's AEW appearance is just another moment in his eventful and excellent spring and summer.

His girlfriend, Mariah Riddlespringer, announced in May that the couple is expecting their second child.

In July, Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to their first NBA championship since 1971, scoring 50 points in Game 6 of the NBA Finals to cap the series win over the Phoenix Suns. He was named NBA Finals MVP for his efforts.

Antetokounmpo is also now part of the Milwaukee Brewers' ownership group after buying a stake in the team.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is buying a minority stake in the Milwaukee Brewers.

The MLB team announced the move officially on Friday afternoon and held a press conference featuring Antetokounmpo wearing a Brewers jersey:

ESPN's Jeff Passan first reported the news on Friday.

Antetokounmpo is fresh off leading the Bucks to their first NBA championship since 1971, and he capped it by dropping 50 points in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Phoenix Suns.

Now the two-time NBA regular-season MVP and 2021 NBA Finals MVP is expanding his horizons by buying a stake in the 74-48 Brewers, who lead the National League Central by 8.5 games and appear to be destined for the MLB playoffs.

Per Joe Pompliano of the Huddle Up newsletter, the Brewers are valued at roughly $1.2 billion. The team has appreciated 225 percent over the past 10 years.

As Kyle Malzhan of WFRV Local 5 noted, Antetokounmpo's purchase further cements his roots in Milwaukee. He notably signed a five-year, $228 million supermax extension with the Bucks last December.

Antetokounmpo isn't the only superstar Wisconsin athlete to own a share in a team, as Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers bought a minority stake in the Bucks in April 2018.

Elsewhere, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes notably bought a minority stake in the Kansas City Royals in July 2020.

The premium NBA 75th Anniversary Edition cover of NBA 2K22 was painted by Atlanta-based artist Charly Palmer, who is known worldwide for his one-of-a-kind technique and style. It features a trio of the NBA's most iconic big men who changed the game over the league's 75 years: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar represents the big man 'X' factor that still influences today's game, Dirk Nowitzki brings a global respect for the sport and Kevin Durant embodies a legend in the making.

Parker is also featured on one of the covers, making her the popular game's first female cover athlete:

The cover of NBA 2K is such a pivotal platform to inspire young ballers, and I wanted future WNBA stars to know that they can be cover athletes too. Representation matters, so this is a special moment of progress for the sport and the series. To be part of this historic cover is a testament to the growth and rising popularity of the women’s game, and I’m proud to be the first female cover athlete to be the face of NBA 2K.

NBA 2K22 is scheduled for a Sept. 10 worldwide release on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo, the older brother of reigning NBA Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, has reportedly re-signed with the Milwaukee Bucks on a two-year contract.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news Friday. Financial details of the deal weren't immediately released.

The elder Antetokounmpo was a second-round pick of the New York Knicks in the 2014 draft. He spent most of his first U.S. stint in the G League with the Westchester Knicks, making just two appearances for New York during the 2015-16 season.

He returned stateside in 2019 to sign with Milwaukee after time playing in Andorra and the brothers' home country of Greece.

Antetokounmpo has averaged 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 rebounds in 8.8 minutes while playing a depth role across 77 games for the Bucks over the past two seasons. He scored nine points in 13 appearances during last season's playoffs as the team captured the 2021 NBA title.

Earlier this month, Thanasis and Giannis traveled home to Athens with the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

"We are happy to be back and that we could bring the trophy with us," Giannis told reporters. "... We had to go through a long process [to bring the NBA's championship trophy to Greece]."

There are two other basketball-playing Antetokounmpo brothers: Kostas, who won an NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, and Alex, who plays for Spanish side UCAM Murcia.

The Bucks have retained most of the key players from their title run, led by Giannis, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday, and they've added wing depth with Rodney Hood and Grayson Allen in the offseason.

Thanasis figures to remain in a low-volume depth role for Milwaukee over the next two years barring a rash of injuries at the forward spots.
