Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky Beat Raquel Rodriguez, Aliyah to Win WWE Women's Tag Team Titles

Just a couple of weeks after coming up short in the WWE women's tag team title tournament, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky got their redemption.
Kai and Sky, who represent #DAMAGECTRL alongside Bayley, defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah to become the new women's tag team champions on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw.
Kai and Sky received their rematch after it was determined that the win by Rodriguez and Aliyah on the Aug. 29 episode of Monday Night Raw was invalid. Aliyah had pinned Kai, who was not the legal competitor. During the rematch, Kai scored the pin on Aliyah after executing her finishing maneuver.
Entering the title tournament, Kai and Sky were perceived to be the favorites to win after their dramatic return at SummerSlam as part of a newly formed stable led by Bayley. The decision to crown Rodriguez and Aliyah instead caught many by surprise, but now it will be Kai and Sky leading the women's tag division going forward.
WWE had vacated the tag titles in May when former champions Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of an episode of Raw because of a creative dispute. They had originally won the titles in a Fatal Four-Way on the second night at WrestleMania 38.
It was later announced that Banks and Naomi were suspended from the company, and the women's tag titles were put on the shelf for quite some time. Things changed in July when Paul "Triple H" Levesque took over WWE creative following Vince McMahon's retirement. The tag team tournament was announced the next month.
There have been indications that Banks and Naomi reached an agreement to return to the company, but both of them have yet to appear on WWE programming since their walkout.

Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky Defeat Belair, Bliss, Asuka at WWE Clash at the Castle

Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky defeated Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka in a six-woman tag team match at WWE Clash at the Castle on Saturday.
After a hard-fought encounter, the newly named Damage Control stable combined to allow Bayley to pin Belair for the victory.
The stage for the bout was first set at SummerSlam following Belair's successful Raw Women's Championship defense against Becky Lynch.
Her celebration was interrupted by Bayley, who was making her first appearance on WWE programming in over a year after recovering from a torn ACL.
That alone would have been a huge surprise and a moment for the WWE Universe, but The Role Model wasn't done there. She also brought out Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky, signifying the formation of a stable.
Belair, Kai and Sky confronted Belair, but when Lynch stepped in alongside The EST of WWE, they decided to leave rather than engage in a fight.
Two nights later on Raw, The Man revealed she suffered a separated shoulder during the match against Belair, and the heel trio used that to their advantage by attacking her arm with a steel chair backstage.
Later in the night, the villainous group interrupted a match between Bliss and Asuka in order to make a statement, but they got more than they bargained for when Belair ran them off.
Belair and Sky wrestled each other later in the show, but that contest devolved into chaos as well with all six members of the teams brawling.
The following week, Bayley, Kai, Sky, Belair, Bliss and Asuka agreed to a six-woman tag team match at Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales in order to settle the score.
While no titles were on the line, there was a great deal of excitement surrounding the match since it featured six of the most talented female Superstars in WWE and pro wrestling as a whole.
Bayley's team ultimately prevailed, which is likely to lead to a showdown for the Raw Women's Championship between The Role Model and Belair.

WWE Rumors: Bray Wyatt's Return Considered 'More Likely' by Execs

The likelihood of Bray Wyatt returning to WWE is reportedly considered greater now that a change in leadership has occurred within the company.
According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, WWE higher-ups believe it is "more likely" Wyatt will be back in WWE than it was when Vince McMahon was serving as CEO, chairman and head of creative.
McMahon retired from those positions last month amid an investigation by WWE's board of directors into millions of dollars in payments that he made to former female WWE employees in exchange for them remaining silent about alleged sexual encounters with McMahon.
In the wake of McMahon's retirement, his daughter Stephanie McMahon was elevated to the roles of co-CEO and chairwoman, while WWE president Nick Khan was named co-CEO as well.
Additionally, Triple H became vice president of talent relations and head of WWE creative, and he has already made his mark after only a few weeks on the job.
In addition to placing more emphasis on in-ring work, championships and the women's division, Triple H has brought back multiple talents who were released when McMahon was at the helm.
Dakota Kai returned at SummerSlam, Karrion Kross and Scarlett came back on last week's episode of SmackDown, and Dexter Lumis resurfaced this week on Raw.
All of them worked closely with Triple H when he was leading NXT, and that was the case with Wyatt as well, who developed his character with Triple H in NXT before getting called up to the main roster in 2013.
Wyatt went on to become one of WWE's top stars, holding the Universal Championship twice and the WWE Championship once, but he was shockingly released in July 2021.
While Wyatt has not appeared for nor signed with another company since getting cut, he has teased a return to wrestling from time to time.
Most recently, he tweeted his thoughts on pro wrestling, increasing speculation that a WWE return could be in his immediate future:
Wyatt had a great first run in WWE, winning three world titles, getting ample television time and seemingly having a great deal of creative leeway compared to other Superstars.
Many have described McMahon as being somewhat stubborn and set in his ways at times, however, so it stands to reason that he and Wyatt may have butted heads from time to time.
Triple H seems more open to different ideas and ways of doing things, so the thought of collaborating with him could be of great interest to Wyatt.
It is safe to say that there is no bigger name on pro wrestling's free-agent market than Wyatt, and bringing him back into the fold would be a major coup for WWE, considering that AEW had been the company signing all of the big names for months on end.
Triple H has shifted the tide back in WWE's favor and made it an attractive destination once again, and re-signing Wyatt would likely be another signal to free agents that the opportunity for success exists in WWE.
