Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James opened up about seeing debris thrown at his 15-year-old son during Bronny James' game Monday, calling it "just disrespectful."

Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports noted security was called over after something was thrown in James' direction during Virginia's Paul VI Catholic High School victory over Sierra Canyon. The game was temporarily stopped in the third quarter as a result, though ESPN's Jeff Borzello noted police couldn't identify who threw the object.

LeBron tweeted before his own game against the Boston Celtics that "hating has no age limit!" while suggesting his son can handle it:

He also posted a message to his son on Instagram:

The "disrespectful" action was part of an unfortunate day for the James family.

Bronny's Sierra Canyon Trailblazers lost 70-62 in the Hoophall Classic, and he did not score a single point. Paul VI received 24 points from Trevor Keels and 18 points from Jeremy Roach while playing in front of a crowd that included LeBron before his Los Angeles Lakers took on the Celtics.

The Lakers didn't fare much better, as Boston snapped a three-game losing streak with a commanding 139-107 victory at TD Garden.

James was solid with 15 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds, but Anthony Davis (nine points and four rebounds) was largely a nonfactor in his first game back since Jan. 7. Los Angeles' primary issue was on the defensive side, though, as Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Enes Kanter combined to control the game throughout.

The Lakers will look to bounce back Wednesday when they continue their road trip against the New York Knicks.

Sierra Canyon star Bronny James was hit by an object thrown by a fan during Monday's game vs. Virginia's Paul VI Catholic High School, according to Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports:

While Peek noted security was called over to remove the fan, police told ESPN's Jeff Borzello that nobody was ejected from the stands because the person in question could not be identified.

"You'd be surprised by all the stuff Bronny has to go through," Sierra Canyon's Ziaire Williams told Peek. "It's not fair, but he doesn't let it faze him at all. I'm learning how to be more like that from him, and he's younger than me."

The game was quite the spectacle with 4,000 fans in attendance. The most notable fan among them was LeBron James, who was there to watch his son, Bronny.

Paul VI won the contest 70-62, led by Trevor Keels (24 points, five rebounds) and Jeremy Roach (16 points, seven assists). Bronny James played 13 minutes, missing both of his shots.

Bronny James was held scoreless and Zaire Wade did not play, as Sierra Canyon fell 70-62 in a Hoophall Classic matchup against Paul VI on Monday.

4-star guard Trevor Keels scored a game-high 24 points and Duke commit Jeremy Roach added 16 points for Paul VI, which pulled away late in front of a raucous crowd that included LeBron James, who was in attendance despite the Los Angeles Lakers being scheduled to play the Boston Celtics later Monday.

What he saw was a mostly disappointing performance from Sierra Canyon, which had four players in double figures but could not get much from its role players. Bronny James finished without a point in his 13 minutes, adding one rebound and a turnover while committing three fouls.

Shy Odom, who had a starring role in Saturday's win over Dominican High School, did not attempt a shot or record any counting stats in his 14 minutes of play.

Sierra Canyon was led by BJ Boston's 20 points, but he turned the ball over five times and shot 8-of-17 from the floor. Ziaire Williams added 15 points while contributing three steals and two blocks on the defensive end. Harold Yu (12 points) and Amari Bailey (10 points) were also in double figures.

The loss moves Sierra Canyon to 18-3 on the season, including a 4-3 record in the Trailblazers' last seven games. They'll be back on the floor Thursday against Windward in what should be a bounce-back opportunity.

Sierra Canyon jumped ahead to a 45-18 halftime lead before finishing the night with a 90-57 victory.

Wade tallied seven points and James finished with three, while Antetokounmpo came up with 10 points, eight rebounds and two assists.

Antetokounmpo was also on the receiving end of an impressive dunk from University of Kentucky-bound small forward BJ Boston.

Boston—a 5-star small forward recruit, per 247Sports—is expected to join the ranks of one-and-done players for the Wildcats next season.

Bronny James, Zaire Wade Feature as Sierra Canyon Loses to Rancho Christian

Dec 31, 2019

Rancho Christian has become the first team to beat Sierra Canyon to win the Classic at Damien, with an 85-81 win in overtime Monday.

It was a quiet day for Bronny James and Zaire Wade, the sons of NBA legends LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, respectively.

The former was in the game for just five minutes for Sierra Canyon and didn't get on the scoreboard, while the latter was in action for 13 minutes, scoring just two points with this effort:

Sports writer Jack Pollon provided the box score for the contest:

Ziaire Williams made a big impression on his debut for Sierra Canyon, posting 28 points on the night. Per Tarek Fattal of Los Angeles Daily News, he tied the game at 69-69 to force overtime:

However, 30 points from Gonzaga commit Dominick Harris for Rancho Christian, as well as 16 points and 11 rebounds from competition MVP Evan Mobley were enough to see the team to victory.

At half time in the contest, Dwyane Wade and LeBron's other son Bryce treated the crowd in attendance to a short one-on-one game:

The next chance for Bronny and Zaire to take to the court will come Friday, as Sierra Canyon looks to get back to winning ways in Minneapolis against Patrick School. It will meet Rancho Christian again on January 11 in what promises to be a fascinating encounter.
