Tiger Woods is still recovering from his car crash in February, but he is reportedly making some progress.

According to TMZ Sports, Woods was seen walking without crutches or a limp Sunday while he attended a junior golf tournament in Port St. Lucie, Florida, to watch his son, Charlie, play. Woods wore a sleeve on his right leg.

Woods was involved in a single-car crash on Feb. 23 outside of Los Angeles. The 45-year-old golfer was hospitalized with severe injuries to his right leg and foot, and a rod had to be placed in his leg.

There has been no official word from Woods regarding a potential return to the PGA Tour.

Tiger Woods, who largely has remained out of the spotlight while he recovers from foot and leg injuries after a February car crash, was seen watching his son Charlie compete at a junior golf event in Florida over the weekend, per William E. Ricks of ESPN.

According to Ricks, Woods was seen "wearing golf gear and had a sleeve on his right leg."

Notably, it was the first time Woods was seen publicly without crutches.

It remains unclear when or if Woods will return from his injuries and resume his golfing career.

The 45-year-old hasn't been completely removed from the game of golf as he recovers from the injuries sustained in his single-car crash over the winter, however.

ESPN's Bob Harig reported in late September that Woods sent an inspirational text message to members of the United States Ryder Cup team before the tournament.

"We knew he was fist-pumping from the couch," Xander Schauffele told Harig. "Whether he was on crutches or not, he's as fired up as any back at home so it's nice to have his support."

"No better role model, no better leader, just somebody you can always learn from," Patrick Cantlay added. "I saw him last week at home and just picked his brain on Ryder Cup and applied some of that here today."

Woods' 12-year-old son, Charlie, has also been competing at various tournaments. While Woods regularly attends those tournaments, he told Jada Pinkett Smith in July that he doesn't want to pressure Charlie into golfing or see him lose his love of the game.

"I just don't want him to hate the game," Woods said (4:40 mark). "I don't want him to fall onto that trap. I get emotional about it. Some of my best memories are being out there with my dad."

Golf legend Tiger Woods saluted the victorious United States squad after it defeated Team Europe 19-9 in the 2021 Ryder Cup.

The U.S. had one hand on the trophy after claiming an 11-5 advantage through the first two days. That left the Americans just 3.5 points away from victory Sunday.

Patrick Cantlay, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger all won their head-to-head battles. Collin Morikawa and Jordan Spieth both halved their rounds as well.

When the dust settled, the United States prevailed by the largest margin since the event adopted its current format in 1979.

Woods knows the feeling of tasting Ryder Cup success. The 15-time major champion was part of the U.S. team that overcame a four-point deficit on the final day to win the "Battle of Brookline" in 1999.

Something Tiger Woods said must have clicked.

Team USA jumped out to a 6-2 lead on the first day of competition in front of the home fans at the Ryder Cup in Wisconsin, and multiple players acknowledged the 15-time major champion sent them a message of encouragement going into the competition.

"We knew he was fist-pumping from the couch,'' Xander Schauffele said, per Bob Harig of ESPN. "Whether he was on crutches or not, he's as fired up as any back at home so it's nice to have his support.''

Schauffele won both his matches Friday and was an integral part of the quick start.

Patrick Cantlay, Tony Finau and Harris English also mentioned Woods said something, although they did not reveal what exactly was said.

Harig noted Team USA captain Steve Stricker has consulted with Woods, which makes sense considering the all-time great was captain of the winning U.S. Presidents Cup team in 2019 and helped Stricker's 2017 Presidents Cup team.

Woods is recovering from a serious car accident that happened in February.

Tiger Woods is getting into the NFT market, with some assistance from a company co-founded by Tom Brady.

Per ESPN's Tom VanHaaren, the first set of 10,000 non-fungible tokens featuring digital images of Woods was released Tuesday through the Autograph and DraftKings marketplace.

Brady and Dillon Rosenblatt co-founded Autograph earlier this year. The company launched in the spring, with several superstar athletes including Woods, Tony Hawk, Derek Jeter, Wayne Gretzky, Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka on the board of advisors.

The intersection of sports and technology is such an interesting space to me, and I'm thrilled to partner with Autograph as they lead the charge by ushering a new era of digital collecting," Woods said in a statement, via VanHaaren. "It's been an honor to join their advisory board among so many iconic athletes, and I'm looking forward to bringing fans closer to my memorable sports moments at an accessible price, and to the game I respect so much

Prices for the initial drop of Woods NFTs range from $12 to $100. VanHaaren noted there are only 375 non-fungible tokens available at the top price point.

A special collection of 300 digitally autographed version of the NFTs will be released on Sept. 28, with prices ranging from $250 to $1,500.

Brady has already released several NFTs through the site, including a signed ruby version that is currently selling for $1,500.

Tiger Woods is apparently "progressing" with an eye on playing golf again as he recovers from the serious car accident he was involved in on Feb. 23.

That is what Ryder Cup captain Steve Stricker told Carl Paulson and Dennis Paulson of SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio (h/t Bob Harig of ESPN) on Tuesday.

"I've talked to Tiger a lot," Stricker said. "He's a part of this Ryder Cup family; he won't be able to be a captain's assistant this time around just because of his ongoing rehabilitation to try to get better and try to play golf again, and that is going well. He's progressing, he's doing well, things are moving in the right direction."

Harig noted Woods suffered broken bones in his right leg and injuries to his right ankle and foot in the crash. The 15-time major champion was also recovering from a fourth back surgery he underwent in December at the time of the crash.

There have not been many official updates on Woods' progress, although he did post a picture of himself on crutches with his dog in April on his Instagram account.

"My course is coming along faster than I am," the caption read. "But it's nice to have a faithful rehab partner, man's best friend."

Stricker said Woods would not be at the Ryder Cup in person as a vice captain this year.

The United States captain announced Daniel Berger, Harris English, Tony Finau, Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth as his captain's picks for the United States in this year's Ryder Cup.

The rest of the roster was determined by performance dating back to 2019:

This year's Ryder Cup is scheduled to start Sept. 24 at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.

Drake Name-Drops Giannis, Sha'Carri Richardson, More on 'Certified Lover Boy'

Toronto Raptors superfan Drake makes several sports references and name-drops on his newest album, Certified Lover Boy, which was released Friday.

Perhaps the most impressive was the ability to seamlessly fit the name of Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo into a set of lyrics on the track "7AM On Bridle Path":

Could at least keep it a buck like Antetokounmpo

I made north of the border like Vito Rizzuto

Throwin' parties in Miami, they lovin' us mucho

With the ho ratio, I'm like David Caruso.

Drake also gave a shoutout to American sprinter Sha'Carri Richardson, who missed the Tokyo Games after testing positive for marijuana at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

"And I'm like Sha'Carri, smoke 'em on and off the track," he rapped on "No Friends in the Industry".

Here's a look at some of the other sports-related mentions on the album:

  • "In the Bible": "Think I'm Tiger Woods, the way I'm teed off thе 17."
  • "The Remorse": "Can't picture bein' a hubby, finger too stubby to fit a ring on, unless Kawhi wanna run it back."

The last line is likely a reference to the infamous practice rant by Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson.

It's also no surprise Drake was able to fit a link to the Raptors on the album, though it's unlikely Kawhi Leonard will be running it back in Toronto anytime soon after signing a four-year, $176.3 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers in August. He helped lead the Raptors to the 2019 NBA title.

Certified Lover Boy is Drake's sixth studio album and his first since Scorpion in 2018.

It turns out Tiger Woods doesn't even have to use a putter in a tournament for it to become very, very valuable.

A backup putter owned by Woods but never used by the 15-time major winner in tournament play sold for $393,300 at auction. The putter was Woods' backup in 2002.

Tom VanHaaren of ESPN reported the putter is one of seven red dot backups that exist. Scotty Cameron produced only one or two backup putters per year for Woods during their relationship.

This is believed to be the highest price for a golf club in history.

A 2001 Newport II previously sold for $155,000 at auction last September.

Collin Morikawa Wins 2021 British Open; Ties Tiger Woods with Historic Milestone Win

Collin Morikawa earned his second career major title with a victory at the 2021 British Open.

Louis Oosthuizen had led The Open Championship after each of the first three rounds, but it was Morikawa who stormed ahead with a 66 in his final round Sunday to finish 15 strokes under par for the tournament.

Jordan Spieth finished two strokes back for second place at Royal St. George's, while Oosthuizen ended up in a tie for third.

It continues an incredible 12 months for Morikawa, who won the PGA Championship last August and now has three straight top-10 finishes at majors. He also joins some elite company in a variety of categories:

Tiger Woods is the only other player to win these two majors before the age of 25.

Final Leaderboard

1. Collin Morikawa (-15)

2. Jordan Spieth (-13)

T3. Jon Rahm (-11)

T3. Louis Oosthuizen (-11)

5. Dylan Frittelli (-9)

T6. Brooks Koepka (-8)

T6. Mackenzie Hughes (-8)

T8. Dustin Johnson (-7)

T8. Robert MacIntyre (-7)

T8. Daniel Berger (-7)

T8. Scottie Scheffler (-7)

Full leaderboard and stats available at TheOpen.com.

Oosthuizen was the favorite heading into the final day thanks to his one-stroke lead and consistent play over the first three rounds.

The fourth round wasn't quite as smooth for the South African, however, as he finished the front nine with two bogeys and no birdies. The par-five seventh hole was especially disappointing as Oosthuizen hit it from one bunker to the other before saving bogey.

It opened the door for others to move up the leaderboard, with Morikawa especially taking advantage.

The 24-year-old grabbed the solo lead and built a small cushion thanks to three straight birdies from No. 7 through No. 9, plus a clutch par save on No. 10.

It was still far from a runaway as Spieth also remained in the hunt thanks to impressive putting.

It effectively created a two-man race between the Americans over the final few holes, though Morikawa remained just ahead on the leaderboard.

Every time Spieth put the pressure on with a birdie, Morikawa stayed in front with key shots when needed. The clutch putting continually turned heads—not only on birdies but also on pars:

Morikawa only had one birdie on the back nine, but finishing bogey-free in the final round helped him seal the impressive victory.

Oosthuizen dropped to a tie for third, although he still turned heads with a near ace on No. 11:

Jon Rahm also had an incredible round to shoot 66, including an eagle on No. 7 and a late run of birdies to stay in the hunt:

Rahm finished in a tie for third place despite an opening round of 71.

Other notable players like Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson had a strong final round to end up in the top 10.

Though this was the final major of the year, these quality performances could help build momentum going forward with the FedEx Cup playoffs on the horizon.

Golf legend Tiger Woods was recognized on the No. 18 hole at Torrey Pines Golf Club, with a new plaque recognizing his legendary putt—with two stress fractures and a torn ACL—that forced a playoff before he went on to win the 2008 U.S. Open.

The plaque was unveiled as the San Diego City Council and Mayor Todd Gloria proclaimed the official start of United States Open Championship Week in the city, according to David Dusek of GolfWeek

Woods—who hasn't won the U.S. Open since that iconic moment, which marked his third career victory in the major—won't be participating when the U.S. Open comes to San Diego this weekend as he continues to recover from injuries sustained in a February car crash.
