AEW Stars Sammy Guevara, Tay Conti Get Engaged to Be Married at Eiffel Tower in Paris

AEW stars Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti got engaged Friday in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
TMZ Sports posted photos of the newly engaged couple with a smiling Conti sporting her engagement ring.
The 28-year-old Guevara and 26-year-old Conti went public with their relationship on Jan. 1, 2022, after months of Conti appearing on Guevara's vlog.
Guevara is an original member of the AEW roster, as he made his debut in 2019 and joined The Inner Circle with Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz on the first episode of Dynamite.
Sammy briefly went solo following the dissolution of The Inner Circle this year, but since March, he and Conti have been an on-screen item in addition to their off-screen relationship.
Guevara is considered one of the "four pillars" of AEW and has held the TNT Championship three times, which is tied with Cody Rhodes for the most reigns.
Conti broke into wrestling in 2016 when she signed with WWE following a career in judo.
The Brazil-born Conti competed in the inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament in 2017, as well as the second Mae Young Classic in 2018.
After not receiving much television time in NXT, Conti was released in April 2020, and she debuted for AEW four months later.
Conti was married once previously, while Guevara proposed to his previous longtime girlfriend during an AEW show in Houston in August 2021 before they ultimately broke up.

Jurassic Express Retain AEW World Tag Team Titles at Double or Nothing 2022

Jurassic Express defeated the teams of Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs and Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland in a three-way tag team match to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Double or Nothing on Sunday.
Sunday marked the second consecutive pay-per-view at which Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus were tasked with defending the tag titles against two sets of challengers.
The first instance occurred at Revolution in March when Jurassic Express beat both The Young Bucks and reDRagon to retain.
They faced perhaps an even bigger challenge at Double or Nothing because of the size and strength of some of the competitors involved.
One team was comprised of Team Taz members in Starks and Hobbs, who had established themselves as the No. 2-ranked tag team in AEW behind only FTR.
After beating teams like Lee and Strickland and Dark Order, Starks and Hobbs made it clear that they had the tag team titles in their sights, and they let Jurassic Express know that they were coming for them.
Like Starks and Hobbs, Lee and Strickland racked up several wins as a team to get themselves in the title conversation as well.
The former WWE stars entered AEW as singles performers but hit their stride as a tag team by beating teams like Q.T. Marshall and Nick Comoroto, and Luther and Serpentico.
After Lee and Swerve defeated J.D. Drake and Anthony Henry on the May 18 episode of Dynamite, they cut a promo about breaking the top five in the tag team rankings and wanting a title shot.
Starks and Hobbs interrupted, which led to Jurassic Express making their way to the ring and Christian Cage challenging both teams on behalf of Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus.
The odds were stacked against Jurassic Express again, but by virtue of their victory, they pushed their title reign close to the five-month mark.

WWE Rumors on Roman Reigns' Contract, Judgment Day and Lacey Evans

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Reigns Reportedly Cutting Down on House Show Appearances
WWE undisputed world champion Roman Reigns is reportedly slated to have a somewhat lighter schedule moving forward.
Speculation regarding Reigns' future in WWE ran rampant on Sunday when he cut a promo following his match at a live event in Trenton, New Jersey.
During the promo, Reigns said he was entering a "new phase" in his life and didn't know if he would ever be back in front of the fans in Trenton:
Per Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast (h/t Manik Aftab of Ringside News), the only notable change for Reigns moving forward is that he won't be booked for house shows in smaller markets such as Trenton.
Other than that, Reigns will reportedly maintain a significant presence on television and on pay-per-views. There is also no expectation that The Tribal Chief will take "extended time off."
It was previously reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t F4WOnline's Josh Nason) that Reigns signed a new WWE contract that will require him to work fewer dates, specifically in relation to house shows.
It was also reported that for a 10-week stretch this summer from late June through late August, Reigns is not being advertised for any WWE events besides the Money in the Bank and SummerSlam pay-per-views.
That led to speculation that Reigns will be taking time off, but it is difficult to envision him making no televised appearances besides pay-per-views for two months.
Reigns holds both the WWE and Universal Championships, and his presence will be paramount in terms of building to matches at some of the biggest events of the year.
Both Money in the Bank and SummerSlam are stadium shows, so one can only assume that Reigns will be around for the build toward both of them.
Judgment Day Possibly Adding Fourth Member
Edge's Judgment Day stable reportedly may not be done with its expansion on the heels of adding Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania Backlash.
According to PWInsider (h/t WrestlingInc's Marc Middleton), there has been talk within WWE of adding a fourth member to Judgment Day alongside Edge, Ripley and Damian Priest.
Edge teased additional members during a promo on Monday night's episode of Raw when he said Judgment Day was "looking for more."
The formation of Judgment Day occurred at WrestleMania 38 last month when Priest interfered in Edge's match with AJ Styles, allowing the WWE Hall of Famer to score the victory.
During a rematch between Edge and Styles at WrestleMania Backlash, a hooded figure pushed Styles off the ropes, leading to another win for Edge.
Ripley revealed herself as the mystery assailant and explained her rationale behind joining Judgment Day on Raw.
Rhea defeated Liv Morgan on Raw as part of her ongoing feud with her former tag team partner, while Finn Balor beat Priest by disqualification after Edge interfered.
Balor recently joined forces with Styles to combat Judgment Day, and the groundwork has perhaps been set for a six-person tag team match with Morgan entering the fray alongside Styles and Balor.
If WWE does add another member to Judgment Day, it is unclear who it would be, although Ciampa has been speculated as a potential member from the start.
Edge has made it known in interviews that he is a fan of Ciampa, and with the former two-time NXT champion recently turning heel on Raw, it wouldn't be a big stretch to put him in the stable.
Evans Reportedly Moving to Raw, Turning Heel
WWE is reportedly taking an unexpected route with the return of Lacey Evans to WWE programming.
According to PWInsider (h/t Middleton), WWE's current plan calls for Evans to be a heel on the Raw brand moving forward.
Evans has been out of action for well over a year after giving birth to her second child, but in recent weeks, WWE began airing vignettes for Evans on SmackDown.
In the series of vignettes, Evans seemingly spoke from the heart about her difficult upbringing, including stories about her father's issues with addiction and the volatility she encountered during her childhood.
Ultimately, Evans was able to pull herself out of that situation by joining the Marines and later becoming a WWE Superstar.
All signs pointed toward Evans being presented as a big-time babyface, which would have been a huge departure from the heel persona she has had for most of her WWE career.
Instead, a strange announcement was made on last week's SmackDown with ring announcer Samantha Irvin asking fans to show Evans "proper respect" when she made her entrance.
That type of language is normally reserved for heels, which may have been the first sign WWE was going in a different direction.
In terms of the switch from SmackDown to Raw, WWE essentially aired highlights of Evans' vignettes on Monday's Raw, which suggested she was perhaps getting shifted to the red brand.
It is unclear why WWE decided to make that change and why it chose misdirection in terms of keeping her a heel, but all signs seem to point toward WWE taking that route with Evans.

WWE Rumors on Alexa Bliss' Absence, Bron Breakker's Future, Bellator Star at Tryout

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Reason for Bliss' Absence from WWE Programming
Alexa Bliss hasn't been seen on WWE programming in weeks, but there is reportedly a good reason for her absence.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Bliss and her fiance, musician Ryan Cabrera, are getting married soon, so WWE has held her off television.
After losing a Raw Women's Championship match to Charlotte Flair at Extreme Rules in September, Bliss disappeared from TV for a few months. She later returned as the subject of several weekly vignettes on Raw.
In the vignettes, Bliss was speaking to a psychiatrist about her change in personality since aligning with The Fiend and the impact her doll, Lilly, had on her.
Eventually, Bliss declared herself cured and entered the Elimination Chamber match to determine the No. 1 contender for the Raw Women's Championship at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in February.
Bliss was one of the final two Superstars remaining, but she was eliminated by Bianca Belair, who went on to beat Becky Lynch for the Raw women's title at WrestleMania 38.
Alexa was not part of the WrestleMania card and hasn't been seen since Elimination Chamber, which has led to speculation regarding whether she has fallen out of favor or WWE simply doesn't have a creative plan in place for her.
Instead, it could be a case of Bliss taking some time off around her wedding, allowing WWE to make preparations for when she is able to make a full-time return to television.
Breakker Set to Be Called Up Soon?
NXT champion Bron Breakker reportedly may not be staying in developmental for too much longer.
According to Meltzer (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), Breakker is receiving some "serious looks" for an eventual main roster call-up, and the plan is for him and Gable Steveson to get "Superstar pushes" when they become part of the main roster.
Breakker has been on the fast track to stardom ever since NXT transitioned to NXT 2.0 in September. Breakker beat L.A. Knight in his first match and has been dominant ever since.
The son of WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner and nephew of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner is already a two-time NXT champion despite the fact his career is less than a year old.
He failed to win the NXT title back from Dolph Ziggler at NXT Stand & Deliver last weekend, but he got back at DZ on Raw the night after WrestleMania, beating Ziggler for the championship.
It seems obvious that WWE had him win the title back on Raw so the biggest possible audience could get eyes on the company's star of the future.
Breakker then defeated Gunther cleanly in a title match on Tuesday, and he has seemingly started a storyline with Joe Gacy.
That means Breakker probably isn't in line for an immediate call-up, but it would be somewhat surprising if he isn't on the main roster by the end of the year at the latest.
Bellator's Loureda Takes Part in WWE Tryout
A well-known MMA fighter was reportedly part of a WWE tryout during WrestleMania week in Dallas.
According to Meltzer (h/t Mukherjee), Bellator's Valerie Loureda was among the many athletes who were present for WWE's tryouts.
Loureda is a 23-year-old from Miami, Florida, who has built up a 4-1 professional record since making her Bellator debut in 2019.
Most recently, Loureda scored a split-decision victory over Taylor Turner at Bellator 271 in November.
WWE has seemingly changed its focus in recent months regarding the types of prospects it is pursuing and grooming for an eventual career in the company.
For quite some time, NXT was a haven for veteran independent wrestlers, but when many of them failed to enjoy the same success on the main roster as they did in NXT, a change was made.
Once NXT transitioned to NXT 2.0 in September, WWE started gravitating more toward young athletes, many of whom are in college since new name, image and likeness (NIL) rules allow them to be pursued now.
ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reported that 53 athletes took part in the tryout. All of them were athletes and aged 25 or younger.
Loureda undoubtedly has the athletic ability, youth and look WWE is searching for, and the fact that she already has a following could aid in her landing a job with the promotion.
AEW CEO Tony Khan Announces Contract to Acquire Ring of Honor

All Elite Wrestling CEO Tony Khan is expanding his reach in the pro wrestling world.
During the opening segment of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, Khan announced that he has purchased Ring of Honor, one of the most influential independent wrestling promotions in the history of the business.
Ring of Honor was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Last October, the company announced it would not be holding shows in the first quarter of 2022 as it rebrands itself. It was reported that talent contracts were not being renewed in December while the company was on hiatus.
As part of the deal, Khan acquired ROH's extensive video library dating back to 2002. Khan, who is the son of Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan, also indicated that he is hoping to put together future ROH events and shows.
"This deal adds thousands of hours of content to our rapidly growing library and creates new opportunities to expand our footprint on a national and global scale, while having the potential to produce new content under the ROH banner," Khan's statement read.
Some of the top superstars in AEW have wrestled for Ring of Honor during their careers. CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole and AEW champion "Hangman" Adam Page had all spent time in ROH. The promotion also helped launch the careers of some top WWE superstars like Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens.
Ring of Honor is scheduled to hold its first show of 2022, Supercard of Honor XV, on April 1 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas.
Bobby Lashley Injury Update, Drake Maverick WWE Status, Bayley and Ripley Tease Match

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Lashley Reportedly Getting Shoulder Examined
After getting removed from Saturday's Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship due to a storyline injury, Bobby Lashley reportedly got a legitimate injury checked out.
According to PWInsider (h/t Bhupen Dange of Ringside News), Lashley was at Andrew Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, on Monday to get his shoulder examined.
Lashley was set to defend the WWE title against Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory and Riddle at Elimination Chamber, but he never entered the match.
Rollins powerbombed Theory through Lashley's pod, and the announcers said he was unable to compete due to being placed in concussion protocol.
WWE continued that storyline on Raw, saying that if Lashley is not out of concussion protocol, someone else will challenge Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the March 5 live event at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Shortly after WWE ran the injury angle with Lashley at Elimination Chamber, Kazeem Famuyide of The Ringer Wrestling Show (h/t Dange) said Lashley had been dealing with a shoulder injury since the Royal Rumble.
Famuyide added that Lashley was expected to need surgery, which would keep him out of action for at least four months.
The fact that WWE isn't officially ruling Lashley out for the MSG show or WrestleMania 38 suggests there is still a chance he could be available.
If Lashley is able to work WrestleMania at the start of April, Rollins seems like a logical opponent since he was essentially the one responsible for Lashley losing the WWE title.
Maverick Returns to WWE as Part of Creative Team
Drake Maverick has reportedly returned for a third stint with WWE, but this time, it is in a different role.
According to PWInsider (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), Maverick went back to WWE three or four weeks ago and took a position on the Raw creative team.
The 39-year-old Brit first rose to prominence as a wrestler in Impact Wrestling before signing with WWE in 2017.
Maverick debuted as the general manager of 205 Live, but became a jack of all trades over time. He had a short stint managing AOP and eventually became a key part of the 24/7 Championship division, holding the title eight times.
WWE released Maverick from his contract in April 2020, but he still competed in the tournament for the Cruiserweight Championship. He was so well received that WWE decided to bring him back.
Maverick competed in the cruiserweight division and teamed with Killian Dain on NXT before getting cut again in November 2021.
Since Maverick has long been viewed as someone with a good mind and passion for the business, creative writing could turn out to be his best position yet.
Maverick's return comes at an important time on the WWE calendar, as WrestleMania 38 is just over a month away, making every weekly episode of television important.
Bayley, Ripley Tease Potential WrestleMania Match
Bayley and Rhea Ripley had an intriguing interaction Monday on Twitter, which could potentially be the groundwork for a WrestleMania match between them.
After Raw went off the air, Bayley tweeted Ripley asking if she was ready for a new opponent. In response, Ripley seemingly expressed interest in mixing it up with the former SmackDown, Raw and NXT women's champion:
Bayley has been out of action since the summer after suffering a torn ACL, but PWInsider's Mike Johnson recently reported that Bayley is expected to return to the ring by the end of March.
If that holds true, Bayley would be back just in time for WrestleMania 38, and WWE would have to hurry to find her an opponent if the goal is for her to be on that card.
Starting a rivalry on Twitter before Bayley returns could be WWE's way of ensuring that little television time is needed to build the feud before WrestleMania.
WWE has clearly tried to present Ripley as a dominant figure recently based on her performances in the Elimination Chamber match and a gauntlet match before it.
While Ripley was outlasted by Bianca Belair each time, she still came out of the contests looking credible.
Ripley defeated Nikki A.S.H. once again Monday, but it is long past due for her to move on to something else, and Bayley would be the perfect opponent for her on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Keith Lee Debuts in AEW Following Controversial WWE Release

Former WWE superstar Keith Lee made his AEW debut at Dynamite on Wednesday.
Lee was revealed as Isiah Kassidy's mystery opponent in a qualifying bout for the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, which will occur at the March 6 Revolution pay-per-view.
He'll now be taking part in that match after finishing off Kassidy with the Big Bang Catastrophe.
Post-match, Lee cleaned out Private Party, powerbombing Marq Quen onto Kassidy's back before doing so on the apron:
After being utilized inconsistently on WWE's main roster, Lee was released in November, ending his three-plus-year run with the promotion.
Since most WWE contracts include a 90-day non-compete clause once they are terminated, Lee officially became a free agent on Feb. 2.
The 37-year-old veteran's time in WWE didn't end on a high note, but he enjoyed a great deal of success in the company nonetheless.
Most of Lee's most notable accomplishments occurred in NXT, where he was a top star for much of his run from 2018-20.
Lee defeated Roderick Strong for the North American Championship in January 2020, held the title for several months and then beat Adam Cole in a title vs. title match for the NXT Championship in July 2020.
During his time in NXT, Lee had a fantastic showing at Survivor Series 2019, lasting until the very end and going head-to-head against Roman Reigns before finally getting eliminated.
He was also a surprise entrant in the 2020 Royal Rumble and had a memorable showdown with Brock Lesnar, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.
Lee got called up to WWE's main roster in August 2020 and seemed to be off to the races, as he defeated Randy Orton in his first singles pay-per-view match on the main roster at Payback.
He appeared to be on the fast track to winning the United States Championship, but COVID-19 and then a heart issue caused Lee to miss several months of action, and he never regained his spot afterward.
In a last-ditch effort to push him, WWE changed Lee's name to Keith "Bearcat" Lee; however, he only made a few televised appearances under that persona and was subsequently released.
AEW is a company that can benefit from more size and more diversity on its roster, and Lee checks both boxes, so he was likely a no-brainer signing for the promotion.
Given how over Lee already is with the fans, he is a strong candidate to vie for the TNT Championship or perhaps even the AEW Championship in the near future.

WWE Rumors: Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch at WrestleMania; Breakker, Gunther at Rumble

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.
Rousey vs. Lynch Under 'Heavy Consideration' for WrestleMania
After nearly three years away, Ronda Rousey's return to WWE reportedly could be on the horizon.
Appearing on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said a WWE source told him Rousey vs. Becky Lynch for the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 38 is under "heavy consideration" and "pretty much in the books," although he isn't sure if it is official.
Meltzer's report came on the heels of Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News) reporting that WWE has internally discussed Rousey's return and the possibility of her either being an entrant or having some involvement in the women's Royal Rumble match on Saturday.
It was then speculated by Meltzer that Rousey could potentially win the Rumble as a surprise entrant, setting the stage for a match against Lynch at WrestleMania.
Rousey's last WWE appearance came a little less than three years ago at WrestleMania 35 when she competed in the main event against Lynch and Charlotte Flair.
Ronda controversially got pinned by Lynch, as both shoulders didn't appear to be on the mat. Despite that, Becky was given the win and became both Raw and SmackDown women's champion.
It was always assumed that Rousey would come back to challenge Lynch at some point, but she took some time off to start a family and had her first child with husband Travis Browne in September.
Lynch returned in August after having a child of her own and became champion by beating Bianca Belair in her first match back. Ever since then, Big Time Becks has scored huge wins over some of the biggest names in the women's division, including Belair, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan.
At the Rumble, Lynch is widely expected to defeat Doudrop in her defense of the Raw Women's Championship.
Rousey's return would move the needle in a big way for the women's division, just as her debut at the 2018 Royal Rumble did.
Ronda typically got mixed reactions during her first run, but there is no doubt that she got more eyes and mainstream attention on the product, so if she is available for WrestleMania, WWE will likely go all-out to bring her in.
Breakker Set to Be Present for Royal Rumble
Bron Breakker potentially could make his WWE main roster debut Saturday in the men's Royal Rumble match.
According to PWInsider.com (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Breakker is scheduled to be in St. Louis for the Royal Rumble event on Saturday.
It isn't known if the NXT 2.0 champion will be part of the Rumble, but he will be available for the match if needed.
Breakker is perhaps the fastest-rising star in the entire company, as he defeated Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship at New Year's Evil earlier this month.
Remarkably, that was only Breakker's ninth televised match in WWE, underscoring how much star power WWE sees in him.
The son of former WWE and WCW star Rick Steiner, Breakker is a natural in the ring and brings the type of intensity that WWE loves to see out of a top guy.
If Breakker is in the Rumble, WWE could pull off one of the biggest surprises in the history of the match by having him win, although he still has plenty left to prove and accomplish in NXT.
Even if a win isn't in the cards, having Breakker rack up several eliminations and last a long time in the match would go a long way toward giving him further credibility, especially on NXT programming.
Breakker is quickly gaining a big following, and there is little doubt that the crowd in St. Louis will react positively if he does appear in the Rumble on Saturday.
Gunther to Be Backstage at Royal Rumble
Like Breakker, Gunther reportedly could be an NXT representative in the men's Royal Rumble match as well.
Per PWInsider (h/t Mukherjee), Gunther will also at The Dome in America's Center for the show, and it remains be seen if he will be utilized as part of the Rumble match.
Gunther is the new name of longtime NXT UK Superstar WALTER, who recently made the full-time transition to NXT. On last week's episode of NXT, Walter beat Roderick Strong in the main event and then announced that his name had been changed to Gunther.
The Austria native has been a dominant force in the realm of NXT, holding the United Kingdom Championship for a record 870 days before dropping it to Ilja Dragunov in August.
He is also the leader of the Imperium faction, and the tag team of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel has been highly successful under his guidance as well.
Gunther hasn't done much on the main roster, but he has made a couple of appearances. Most notably, he was part of the NXT men's Survivor Series elimination team at the Survivor Series 2019 pay-per-view.
He was eliminated in that match without much ballyhoo, but things could be different for Gunther this time around.
Gunther has made the move to the United States from Europe and will be more available to WWE moving forward both in NXT and the main roster.
It is unclear if WWE has immediate plans to call him up, but if it does, a dominant showing in the Rumble would be a great way to set the stage.
