Fantasy Football Big Board: Complete PPR Player Rankings for Week 16
And then there were four.
In the vast majority of fantasy football leagues, Week 16 means it's the semifinals. Maybe your league has four playoff teams. Maybe you earned a first-round bye. Or maybe you have already been victorious in one postseason matchup. How you reached this point isn't nearly as important as being here—one win away from the Championship Game.
This time of year, the margin for error is razor-thin at best and non-existent at worst. You need to know which quarterback will throw for 320 yards and three scores, not the one about to barely crack 150 with two picks. You need to know which running back will break 100 yards with two scores and not the back who won't break 30. The wideout set for 180 receiving yards and not 18.
You need to know what players will help you milk every possible point from your lineup. How each position is ranked in this incredibly important week.
As it happens, that info is all right here—position-by position PPR rankings and information on matchups to target and avoid.

Quarterbacks
For most of this season, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been among the most productive players at his position. After throwing for 315 yards and rushing for three touchdowns against the Chicago Bears last week, Hurts is the highest-scoring signal-caller in fantasy football. The third-year pro has played a major role in helping fantasy managers make it this far in 2022.
And now he has been taken away at the worst possible time.
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Hurts suffered a sprained right shoulder last week against the Chicago Bears. The injury isn't believed to be one that will jeopardize his ability to lead the Eagles in the postseason, but his availability for the next two regular-season games is very much in doubt.
And sadly, in the overwhelming majority of fantasy leagues, those next two weeks are all that matters.

GOOD MATCHUPS
Daniel Jones, New York Giants (at MIN) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,600)
Jones has been a low-end fantasy QB1 for much of the 2022 season thanks in large part to his career-high 583 rushing yards. This week, Jones and the Giants face a Vikings defense that has surrendered over 400 yards of offense in five of the past six games.
Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks (vs. KC) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,800)
Smith struggled last week against San Francisco's stout defense, managing just 238 passing yards and a single touchdown pass. But there's a difference between a San Francisco defense allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks and a Chiefs defense surrendering the fourth-most.
BAD MATCHUPS
Gardner Minshew, Philadelphia Eagles (at DAL) (DraftKings DFS Value: $4,800)
Minshew's rock-bottom DFS salary is going to make him a popular tournament play. But unless your fantasy league rewards bonus points for magnificent facial hair, a matchup with a Cowboys team allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks in 2022 is one to avoid.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (vs. PHI) (DraftKings DFS Value: $6,100)
Prescott has quietly thrown multiple interceptions in four of the past six games and ranks a so-so 11th in fantasy points per game over that span. Week 16 brings a matchup with an Eagles team giving up the fewest fantasy points in the NFC to quarterbacks.
SLEEPER
Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers (vs. DET) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,200)
Darnold's numbers have been modest since he took control of the Panthers offense. But the Lions have been a team that can be thrown on—Detroit ranks 30th in the league against the pass and leads the league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks.

Running Backs
Quarterback wasn't the only position that received a heaping dose of bad news in Week 16.
The 2022 campaign had already had quite a bit of that where Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was concerned. Taylor had missed three games, including most of last week's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy drafts last summer was 26th in PPR points after 15 weeks.
That number isn't going anywhere but down now.
As reported by ESPN's Stephen Holder, Taylor is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain, marking the second time this season he's hurt the same ankle. With just three games left in the season and the Colts headed nowhere fast, the belief is the team will shut him down.
Taylor will finish the 2022 season with career-lows in rushing yards (861) and yards per carry (4.5).

GOOD MATCHUPS
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints (at CLE) (DraftKings DFS Value: $6,800)
Kamara amassed 104 total yards last week—the first time he surpassed the century mark since Week 8. Another big game should be in the offing this week against a Browns run defense that was just gashed for almost 200 yards by the Ravens.
Jerick McKinnon, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. SEA) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,900)
McKinnon is the hottest running back in all of fantasy football—he has eclipsed 100 total yards, caught at least seven passes and scored two touchdowns in each of the past two games. Given how many fantasy points the Seahawks have allowed to running backs in 2022, a third straight smash is a real possibility.
BAD MATCHUPS
Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals (at NE) (DraftKings DFS Value: $6,900)
Mixon has been in something of a funk over the past month, collecting less than 25 rushing yards and under three yards a carry in two of his past three games. On top of that, he faces a Patriots defense in Week 16 that has allowed the fewest PPR points in the AFC to running backs.
Miles Sanders, Philadelphia Eagles (at DAL) (DraftKings DFS Value: $6,200)
The good news for Sanders is that with Jalen Hurts banged up, the Eagles could easily go back to last year's run-heavy offense. The bad news is this week the Eagles are facing a Cowboys team that's giving up the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs.
SLEEPER
James Cook, Buffalo Bills (at CHI) (DraftKings DFS Value: $4,900)
The ping-ponging usage of the Bills' running backs adds risk to trusting any in fantasy, but Cook has quietly posted double-digit PPR points in two of his past three games and gets a juicy Week 15 matchup with Chicago's 27th-ranked run defense.

Wide Receivers
Compared to some of the other positions, wide receivers are relatively healthy—Cooper Kupp of the Rams and Deebo Samuel of the 49ers remain sidelined and Tyler Lockett of the Seahawks broke his hand last week, but other than that, the wideouts are in pretty good shape.
Well, they are until you consider what the injuries at quarterback are doing to the position.
In Arizona, DeAndre Hopkins was able to salvage at least an OK game last week in Denver, catching seven passes for 60 yards. But Marquise Brown failed to crack 20 receiving yards on four grabs. Garrett Wilson of the Jets also had a decent outing last week, but the switch back to Zach Wilson under center increases the risk involved with trusting him.
Then there's the uncertainty in Philadelphia. It's entirely possible A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith will be fine with Gardner Minshew at quarterback, but it's hardly guaranteed.
And this time of year, one dud performance is all it takes to sink a season.
GOOD MATCHUPS
DK Metcalf, Seattle Seahawks (at KC) (DraftKings DFS Value: $7,100)
Were Lockett healthy, both he and Metcalf would still be solid starts against a Chiefs team allowing the fourth-most PPR points to wide receivers. But with Lockett on the shelf, Metcalf should see a fat bump in targets in this plus matchup.
DJ Moore, Carolina Panthers (vs. DET) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,500)
One of these years, we might actually get to see what Moore can do with an actual NFL quarterback throwing him the ball. But the Lions have been exceedingly kind to opposing wideouts this season (third in PPR points allowed).
BAD MATCHUPS
CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys (vs. PHI) (DraftKings DFS Value: $7,500)
Lamb has been highly productive over the past month, racking up at least 17 PPR points in three of the past four games. But the Eagles are a rough matchup for receivers, giving up the fifth-fewest PPR points to the position.
JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. SEA) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,800)
Smith-Schuster has been rolling the past couple of weeks, with 18 or more PPR points in each of the past two contests. Three in a row won't be easy, as the Seahawks are surrendering the fourth-fewest fantasy points to receivers this season.
SLEEPER
Chris Moore, Houston Texans (at TEN) (DraftKings DFS Value: $4,700)
With the Texans ravaged by injuries, Moore has been thrust into a much larger role offensively. The seventh-year veteran has responded over the past two weeks, hauling in 14 passes for 166 yards ahead of a choice matchup for wideouts with Tennessee's leaky pass defense.

Tight Ends
The tight end position has been mostly a matter of the haves and the have-nots in 2022. Either you had Travis Kelce of the Chiefs or Mark Andrews of the Ravens and were mostly happy, or you didn't and got to spin the Wheel of Maybe every week.
The Wheel of Maybe can be exhausting.
However, the list of people relegated to spinning the wheel is that much longer, because in recent weeks Andrews has become a resident of Maybeville.
Granted, a big part of Andrews' struggles can be attributed to the absence of Lamar Jackson, who could be back under center for the Ravens this week. And Andrews remains the No. 2 tight end for the season in PPR points and the No. 2 tight end in these rankings.
But at a juncture in the season where trustworthiness is more important than ever, it's getting harder by the week to have any true confidence in a tight end not named Kelce.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens (vs. ATL) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,500)
Confused yet? Andrews has admittedly been in a funk—he hasn't hit double-digit PPR points since Week 12. But the Falcons have allowed the fourth-most PPR points to tight ends this season, so you gotta give Andrews one more chance at redemption.
Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans (vs. HOU) (DraftKings DFS Value: $3,500)
Okonkwo has quietly been a nice find for fantasy managers of late, tallying at least 10 PPR points in each of the past three games. This week, he and the Titans take on a Texans defense that has surrendered the 10th-most PPR points to tight ends this season.
BAD MATCHUPS
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers (vs. WAS) (DraftKings DFS Value: $5,300)
Kittle helped quite a few fantasy managers advance last week with his four catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns. But that explosion came in one of the best fantasy matchups for tight ends. This week, Kittle gets one of the worst in the Washington Commanders.
David Njoku, Cleveland Browns (vs. NO) (DraftKings DFS Value: $4,300)
After two straight contests with at least 15 PPR points, Njoku cooled off in the Browns' win over the Baltimore Ravens last week. A Saints team giving up the second-fewest PPR points to tight ends this season isn't a good matchup for Njoku to rebound.
SLEEPER
Jordan Akins, Houston Texans (at TEN) (DraftKings DFS Value: $2,900)
Akins had a decent game for fantasy managers last week against the Chiefs, catching six passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. The Titans haven't been a bad matchup for tight ends in 2022, giving up the sixth-most PPR points to the position.

Kickers and Defenses
Matchups are a huge part of fantasy football, and nowhere is that more important than with defenses. Quite a few fantasy managers base an entire strategy around targeting defenses with favorable matchups on the waiver wire. And in Week 15, the Kansas City Chiefs were just such a defense.
A funny thing happened on the way to a fantasy jackpot though. Either the Houston Texans showed up offensively, the Chiefs didn't show up defensively or a bit of both. Kansas City logged just one sack and one takeaway on the way to finishing outside the top 20 defenses for the week.
Given that flat performance and the enormity of the stakes for fantasy managers in Week 16, it's understandable that some would be antsy about starting teams with plus matchups like the Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers and Tennessee Titans.
But there's a reason why so many fantasy managers go the streaming route on defense (including this writer). It works. It's natural to be more anxious this time of year.
But changing the tactics that got you this far this season is a good way for that season to come to an unsatisfactory end.
GOOD MATCHUPS
Graham Gano, New York Giants (at MIN)
Gano has had his moments for fantasy managers this year—he's 12th at the position in fantasy points after 15 weeks. He'll likely finish higher than that against a Vikings team allowing the most fantasy points to kickers this season.
Cleveland Browns Defense (vs. NO) (DraftKings DFS Value: $3,800)
The Browns haven't been an especially productive fantasy defense this season. But Cleveland is coming off one of its best defensive efforts of the season ahead of a matchup with a Saints offense that has been known to struggle outdoors.
BAD MATCHUPS
Brett Maher, Dallas Cowboys (vs. PHI)
Maher has been a solid fantasy option this season, checking in sixth in points among kickers. But in his first meeting this season with the rival Eagles, Maher managed just one field goal and two extra points—his third-worst fantasy output of the season.
New England Patriots Defense (vs. CIN) (DraftKings DFS Value: $3,400)
The Patriots are fantasy football's highest-scoring defense 15 weeks into the season, and the team posted a good score against the Raiders last week compliments of a Kyle Dugger pick-six. But the Bengals are playing as well as any offense in the NFL right now.
SLEEPER
Tennessee Titans Defense (vs. HOU) (DraftKings DFS Value: $3,600)
The Titans aren't a good NFL defense—especially against the pass. Tennessee is a bottom-five fantasy defense. But even after last week's surprise against Kansas City the Texans are still one of the NFL's worst offenses statistically—and a team that has been wrecked on that side of the ball by injuries.

Top 100 Players Overall/"Flex" Rankings
Before we get to the list of the top 100 players overall in Week 16 (a list that can aid you in making "flex" calls), the ever-popular weekly disclaimer and handy tip.
The disclaimer is the same as always—there are no quarterbacks included here. If you play in a league with QB-eligible "superflex" spots, odds are good you're going to want to have a quarterback in that spot even with the attrition that has hit that position.
The tip this week is simple—relax.
Yes, the stakes are high this week. In most leagues, a win in Week 16 means it's on to the championship game—a chance to accomplish the goal set all the way back on draft day. But it can be tempting to start overthinking every decision and second-guess every call. Don't fall prey to paralysis by analysis.
Also, and I cannot stress this enough, make the decision you want to make. This isn't to say that research isn't a good thing. Believe it or not, fantasy analysts like myself really do try to get things right. But if your gut screams that a player is listed too low here, to heck with what I (or anyone else) think.
