Every week, fantasy football managers are forced into start-or-sit decisions that lack an obvious answer.

Mastering this delicate dance can help you take a massive step toward a fantasy title. Or rather, it would if anyone actually mastered the art.

That's impossible, though, because you don't always know whether you should take the better player with the worse matchup or vice versa. Plus, you don't know when the football gods have a few curveballs up their sleeve.

That's why the debates rage every week, so let's get it going here with a few start-or-sit calls for Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season.

Start: Matthew Stafford, QB, Los Angeles Rams (at Arizona Cardinals)

Stafford has the arm talent to be a no-brainer weekly starter, but inconsistency and shaky decision-making keep him out of that tier.

He has had some good moments so far this season, already throwing for 512 yards and four touchdowns. Unfortunately, he has also thrown five interceptions and been sacked eight times.

If he could just clean things up, his numbers could erupt. Arizona's defense should give him a chance to do just that.

Arizona has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, per Yahoo. Patrick Mahomes threw for 360 yards and five touchdowns against the Cardinals in the opener, while Derek Carr went for 252 yards and two scores in Week 2.

Sit: Russell Wilson, QB, Denver Broncos (vs. San Francisco 49ers)

The idea of Wilson residing in the Mile High City was all kinds of fun, given the wealth of offensive weaponry he has around him.

Unfortunately, the reality hasn't lived up to the hype.

While he threw for 340 yards in the opener, he only managed a single touchdown pass on 42 attempts. In Week 2, he completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes (14-of-31) for 219 yards and matched his one touchdown throw with an interception. Oh, and he has just three rushing attempts for five yards so far.

Now, he's about to lock horns with a San Francisco defense allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to the position. While he's good enough to turn around this slow start at any time, there are zero reasons to believe this is the week he finds some traction.

Start: James Robinson, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars (at Los Angeles Chargers)

Robinson's 2021 season ended early by way of an Achilles tear in Week 16.

If you only saw his 2022 work, you'd never believe he suffered such a serious injury less than a year ago.

Even with Travis Etienne Jr. healthy, this backfield belongs to Robinson. He has 34 carries to Etienne's 13, a 3-1 edge in touchdowns and a 147-118 advantage in scrimmage yards.

Look for Robinson to continue shining this weekend, as he tussles with a Chargers defense that surrendered the sixth-most fantasy points to running backs last season.
