UFC Fight Night 207: Volkov vs. Rozenstruik Odds, Schedule, Predictions

UFC Fight Night 207 is headlined by two heavyweights in Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik looking to find some answers and create momentum in the UFC's APEX Facility in Las Vegas.
Both Volkov and Rozenstruik are top-10 talents in the division of big men, but both could find themselves on the fringe of that distinction if they don't start winning more fights.
Volkov, like Rozenstruik, has lost two of his last three fights. Most recently, we saw him lose by first-round submission to rising star Tom Aspinall.
In Rozenstruik's last time out, he was outclassed by Curtis Blaydes, losing a clean sweep unanimous decision.
Now, the two will see each other in a five-round main event with a chance at getting something going.
Here's a look at the complete card, with a focus on the biggest fights scheduled for the afternoon.

Volkov vs. Rozenstruik

The heavyweight clash is going to be all about space. Rozenstruik wants to eliminate it, while Volkov thrives in it.
The 6'7" Russian has an 80-inch reach and knows how to use it. He looks to keep opponents on the end of his jab while sprinkling in kicks to the body and legs to outpoint his foes on the cards.
It's an effective strategy and not one that gets utilized often in the division.
Rozenstruik is the typical heavyweight striker. He can be plodding and monotonous, but when he connects, it's with bad intentions. "Bigi Boy" has earned 11 of his 12 wins by knockout, including every win under the UFC banner.
The fact this fight is five rounds could be the deciding factor. In a three-round fight, Rozenstuik would be able to expend energy in longer bursts and potentially catch Volkov with a fight-changing strike.
That's a little harder to do over the course of a 25-minute fight. The more measured the pace is, the more the advantage goes to Drago.
Prediction: Volkov via fifth-round TKO
Ige vs. Evloev

The card is a big opportunity for Movsar Evloev. The 28-year-old will get to put his undefeated record on the line in his biggest showcase yet.
He'll meet 11-time UFC veteran Dan Ige in the co-main event. Ige has lost three of his last four fights but still represents a step up in competition for Evloev, whose most notable win yet came against Hakeem Dawodu.
Like many prospects hailing from Russia, the 28-year-old's greatest strength is his wrestling. He's averaging four takedowns per 15 minutes, per UFC Stats.
Ige has decent takedown defense, staving off 55 percent of takedowns. He doesn't have great stopping power—he has just four wins by knockout in his career—but he does love to push the pace.
Unfortunately for him, Evloev has all the tools to control the pace of the fight. If Evloev decides to test his striking, things will get interesting. But that's not likely to happen.
Instead, we are likely to see a lot of Ige trying to figure out how to get the fight back to the feet while laying on the mat.
Prediction: Evloev via decision
Trizano vs. Almeida

There aren't a ton of fights on this card that are going to have an immediate impact on the rankings within their division. So a fight between two promising prospects in Michael Trizano and Lucas Almeida is one of the best of the night.
Trizano has had an up-and-down run after winning The Ultimate Fighter tournament in 2018. He just hasn't been active. He's fought no more than once a year and lost two out of the last three.
Still, the talent is there. It's just a matter of putting it all together.
Almeida, on the other hand, is getting his shot in the UFC despite losing on Dana White's Contender Series. He dropped a unanimous decision in his one appearance on the show before picking up another win on the Jungle Fight circuit and earning a contract.
Neither fighter has shown they can be consistent to this point. So the upside of Almeida is the more attractive pick here over the experience of Trizano.
Prediction: Almeida via decision
