Impact Wrestling presented No Surrender Saturday, live from suburban New Orleans, featuring a stacked card of grudge matches and championship encounters.
Moose put the Impact World Championship on the line against his former associate W. Morrissey, Honor No More continued its hostile invasion of the company and Bullet Club's Guerillas of Destiny and "Switchblade" Jay White sought to earn victories in key showdowns.

Countdown to No Surrender: Trey Miguel vs. John Skyler
X-Division champion Trey Miguel returned to the Impact Zone for the first time since the Hard to Kill pay-per-view, has mourned the passing of his mother and battled the underrated John Skyler in non-title competition.
Recognizing the possibility for a title opportunity would be his with a victory, Skyler took the fight to his smaller opponent. He worked the core of his opponent, delivering a shot to the midsection, then applying a Boston Crab as he looked to drive the fight out of his tenacious and resilient opponent.
Recovered and fired up, Miguel rocked Skyler with a big kick, then wiped him out on the arena floor. Skyler halted his momentum with a rolling senton off the ropes for a near-fall. Miguel shook it off, trapped Skyler in the corner and delivered a kick, then 619. The Meteora earned the champ the victory.

Analysis
This was a good, solid wrestling match to kick off the night's festivities.
Miguel and Skyler set the tone for the rest of the night's show, but by appearing here, the X-Division champion helped to hype the four-way No. 1 contender's match that will kick off the evening's broadcast.
Skyler is an underrated wrestler, a veteran performer with the skill to hang with anyone on the roster. He is in a rut, but he will almost certainly be ready when the opportunity arrives. This was all about Miguel, and rightfully so, as he re-asserts himself in the company he has proudly represented for years.
Countdown to No Surrender: Tenille Dashwood vs. Havok
The Influence's Kaleb (with a K!) and Madison Rayne accompanied Tenille Dashwood to the squared circle for her match with Decay's Havok, accompanied by tag team partner Rosemary.
Havok dominated the opening moments of the match, but a momentary distraction and an alert Dashwood rocked her with a knee to seize control. Dashwood sent Havok into the corner, then delivered consecutive crossbody blocks in the corner but could only generate a two-count from the official.
Late in the match, Kaleb received a call from Knockouts tag team champions The IInspiration, distracting his charges. Havok recovered, delivered the tombstone piledriver and scored the come-from-behind victory.

Analysis
This was a surprisingly one-sided match in Dashwood's favor, but the bigger takeaway was the phone call that led to the Aussie's downfall.
Kaleb has been otherwise distracted in recent weeks by Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, fueling a rivalry between The IInspiration and The Influence over the Knockouts tag titles. This is all clearly leading to another showdown between those two teams, but the question is whether it spells the end of Kaleb's super underrated run with Dashwood.
Fatal 4-Way to Determine the No. 1 Contender to the X-Division Championship
Bullet Club's Chris Bey, "The Inevitable" Ace Austin, Jake Something and "Speedball" Mike Bailey battled in the opening match of the pay-per-view broadcast, a shot at Trey Miguel's X-Division Championship at stake in an action-packed Fatal 4-Way match.
Each competitor took turns soaring through the air, with Something and Bailey impressing with their aerial exploits.
Back and forth, counters and reversals gave way to Bey delivering the Art of the Finesse to Bailey. Austin sent him to the floor and set up for The Fold, only for Something to catch him and deliver Into the Void for the pinfall victory.

Analysis
Give four incredibly talented wrestlers time and limited constraints and the result will be a balls-to-the-wall match with unrivaled feats of athleticism. That is what we got here, in a high-energy opener that set the stage for a big X-Division title match pitting Something against Miguel.
Something is a wrestler with untapped potential who finally has some momentum on his side. A show-stealing performance against Miguel for one of the most coveted titles in the company should help him finally attain the success and spotlight he should have had a long time ago.
Jonah vs. Black Taurus
A battle of hosses promised a change in pace in the night's second match as the monstrous Jonah battled the nightmarish Black Taurus, who was accompanied to the squared circle by his Decay teammate Crazzy Steve.
Taurus proved it would not be a cakewalk for Jonah, wiping him out with a plancha early. The Aussie would turn the tide in his favor, controlling the pace of the match. Taurus fought back, delivering a reverse sling blade and a crucifix bomb.
He rocked The Top Dog with a head-butt, but Jonah flattened him seconds later. Taurus fought back, delivered a 619 and added a twisting senton for two. No longer content to absorb his opponent's offensive arsenal, Jonah delivered a Thesz Press out of the corner, a powerbomb and put him away with the top-rope Tsunami for the win.

Analysis
This was a hell of a hoss fight between two athletic big men.
Taurus was as good as we have seen him since his arrival in Impact Wrestling while Jonah continued to showcase the skills that have made him one of the hottest free agents in the business.
The Top Dog could easily enter the world title scene tomorrow and be a credible threat to Moose or W. Morrissey, a testament to how well Impact has built him, even following a clean loss to Josh Alexander back at Hard To Kill.
Might he take The Walking Weapon's place now that his spot in the company has opened up?
Eric Young vs. Jay White
The war between Violent By Design and Bullet Club manifested itself in the form of a singles showdown between the factions' leaders, Eric Young and "Switchblade" Jay White.
King Switch controlled the first-half of the bout, outwrestling Young and showing why he is one of the world's most accomplished and celebrated wrestlers. Young delivered a Death Valley Driver to shift things in his favor, scoring a near-fall in the process.
Later, he shoved White off the top rope and delivered his trademark top-rope elbow drop for another close two as the Bullet Club leader proved doubly resilient. White recovered and delivered a Saito suplex that left Young in a heap on the apron.
The fight spilled to the floor, where Young established an advantage and scored a near-fall upon returning to the ring. EY set up for the piledriver, but White countered and stacked him up for two. White fought out one other piledriver attempt and finally landed the half-and-half suplex. The Blade Runner finished Young off as White earned a hard-fought victory.

Analysis
Young and White demonstrated strong in-ring chemistry in a match between two heels that could have led to a quieter crowd but, instead, had them hanging on every counter and reversal down the stretch.
White winning makes sense given his stature in the industry right now. He has been all over New Japan Pro-Wrestling, AEW and Impact in recent weeks and months, leaving an impression on audiences across three major companies.
Young, though, is a grizzled vet and one of the really underrated professional wrestlers today. His promo abilities and Impact's investment in VBD ensure he will recover, making the outcome of this one even more obviously correct.
Deonna Purrazzo's Champ-Champ Open Challenge
Ring of Honor Women's and AAA Reina de Reinas champion Deonna Purrazzo issued an open challenge for No Surrender and former ROH competitor Miranda Alize answered.
The overzealous young Lucha Baddie found herself on the defensive quickly as The Virtuosa worked her over, reminding the entire wrestling world why she is the top in her field. The resilient challenger fought her way back into the match, but her repeated attempt at her Miranda Rights finisher failed her.
Still, she mounted a comeback late that had Purrazzo reeling. A missed Shining Wizard and an armbar by Purrazzo spelled the end for her opponent as The Virtuosa retained her titles.

Analysis
The crowd may not have known who Alize was and failed to react the way you would hope for a match of this quality, but that did not deter the performers. Purrazzo and her challenger delivered a damn good wrestling match that served as further proof of the health of women's wrestling in America.
Alize is a talented competitor, something fans of Ring of Honor are very familiar with. She did not look out of place and would enhance a Knockouts division already brimming with talent. If this was a tryout of the highest degree, she passed.
It is also time to give Purrazzo her flowers. She is as good a professional wrestler as there is right now, a performer who saves her best for the highest-profile situations. That was on display here as she did not skimp on effort despite a lack of creative direction since her feud with Mickie James wrapped up. A fantastic wrestler who fans unfamiliar with her work over the last two years absolutely must discover.
Digital Media Championship: Jordynne Grace vs. Matt Cardona
Matt Cardona's shocking actions at the conclusion of his Digital Championship victory over Jordynne Grace a month ago resulted in a heel turn, but it also set up a rematch against Thicc Mama Pump on Saturday night.
The game Grace took the fight to the Long Island Broski early, but the veteran competitor utilized the referee as a distraction and delivered a cheap shot that allowed him to seize control of his opponent. He suplexed her into the corner and worked her over, even delivering two consecutive Broski Boots to no avail.
Grace fought back and left Cardona reeling after booting a steel chair back into the champion's face. As The Long Island Broski introduced the chair to the squared circle and a frustrated, fed-up and pissed-off Grace delivered a low blow that caused referee Brian Hebner to call for the bell.
The match lost via disqualification, Grace blasted the heel with a steel chair across the back, sending him scurrying to the sanctuary of the floor.

Analysis
Cardona is doing the best work of his career right now across several different promotions. Long presented as a babyface, he has found the key to success in the form of a heel turn that allows him to be the cowardly, sneaky, insufferable villain. He trash-talks fans, brags about taking shortcuts and when the time comes, sells his ass off for the fired-up babyface.
That babyface here was Grace, who is a phenomenal professional wrestler and had no problem hanging in there with Cardona. She is a great performer and could easily fit right in on any major wrestling show. Her work with Cardona has been fantastic, and given the finish of this one, it will continue.
She may not get the title back when all is said and done, but Grace's star will burn brighter, thanks both to her red-hot opponent and her own stellar work.
Impact Tag Team Championship Match: The Good Brothers vs. Guerrillas of Destiny
At one time, The Good Brothers and Guerrillas of Destiny stood side-by-side in Bullet Club. Since then, they have gone their separate ways, animosities apparent in social media posts. Saturday, the two teams battled for the first time ever with Impact World Tag Team Championships at stake.
Tama Tonga started hot for the GOD, taking the fight to both Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson early. The latter raked his former friend's eyes, though, and the champions wrestled control of the bout away from the New Japan Pro-Wrestling exports.
Tonga finally tagged Tanga Loa into the match, and he unloaded on the heels, sparking a babyface comeback.
As the action broke down, Tonga caught Anderson with a hip toss neckbreaker, but Gallows broke up the pin. A side suplex/neck breaker combo to Tonga had the challengers in need of a spark. Loa broke up a Magic Killer and action broke down once more, all four competitors left lying.
Tonga delivered a rolling DVD and a big splash but could not keep Machine Gun down for three. Chris Bey appeared, providing an apparently inadvertent distraction that allowed Gallows to deliver a chokeslam to Loa on the floor and Jay White to sneak in and deliver the Blade Runner.
The Good Brothers retained from there as the commentary team of Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt asked what they just witnessed. White gave them their answer as he, Bey, Anderson and Gallows united for a Too Sweet over the fallen Tonga.

Analysis
Given the fact that Tama Tonga was a founding member of Bullet Club, his public dismissal from the faction here is big news that will have long-reaching effects on NJPW storytelling. White, who was criticized for not having his fingerprints on the faction made the decision by way of his Blade Runner, leaving no doubt as to who the leader is.
The match itself was really good, arguably the best of The Good Brothers' Impact run. They were clearly motivated and delivered the hard-hitting, physical match you hope for out of a grudge match like this. The GOD lived up to their reputations, and the result was a hot match with an exclamation point of an angle to close it out.
Knockouts Championship Match: Mickie James vs. Tasha Steelz
Momentum on her side following a victory in the first-ever Knockouts Ultimate X match, Tasha Steelz challenged Mickie James for the Knockouts Championship in one of the marquee bouts of Saturday's card.
The uber-confident Steelz controlled the match, appearing to be well on her way to victory when some trash-talking directed at James' family ignited a fire in her that led to a big neckbreaker on the floor. Steelz, like any great prospective champion, scouted her opponent's offense and left her lying on the floor as momentum returned to her side.
Refusing to allow frustration to set in, Steelz remained focused until James bit her, catching her off guard.
The champion fired up, kicking Steelz low and taking her down with a seated senton for two. She added a Mick Kick to Savannah Evans, knocking Steelz's second off the apron. Steelz delivered a cutter in time for Chelsea Green to make her presence felt as she eliminated Evans from the equation.
Green's presence was felt late as James sent Steelz into her, then rolled the Boricua Badass up for the pinfall victory.

Analysis
A night of above-average professional wrestling continued with this one, a competitive match that proved Steelz belongs in the title picture as a singles competitor and that Green is absolutely going to cost James the title sooner, rather than later.
James continues to excel, doing some of the best work of her career in this latest run with Impact. It was too soon to take the title off of her, but Steelz needed to be protected. The finish solved that problem and suggests a three-way dance may be on the horizon.
Impact World Championship Match: W. Morrissey vs. Moose
There was no chain wrestling, nor technical expertise in the Impact World Championship match between W. Morrissey and Moose. Instead, the challenger wasted little time throwing hands with the champion, setting the stage for a physically intense battle.
Morrissey struggled to get Moose up in the BQE powerbomb early but, after surviving a spinebuster through the timekeeper's table, delivered another onto the ring apron.
Back inside the ring, Moose escaped another powerbomb and rocked Morrissey with a dropkick in the corner. An exchange of chops followed as each competitor took turns lighting up the chest of their opponent. Moose slipped out of his opponent's grasp and delivered his third spear of the match. Morrissey's arm was under the bottom rope, though, forcing the referee to stop his count.
Morrissey delivered another BQE, but this time, it was Moose's foot under the bottom rope that stopped the official's count.
A massive superplex popped the crowd and resulted in chants of "this is awesome." Moose kipped up and prepared for another spear. He landed it and scored the clean win in the center of the ring.

Analysis
This was an all-out war of attrition between two guys content with beating the hell out of each other. It was a fantastic match that far exceeded every expectation. It put over the desire of both men to be champion, as well as the intense dislike that existed between them.
The strikes were brutal, the moves punishing and the high spots awe-inspiring. Neither man did more than they had to but made the offense they executed count. In the end, it took Moose four spears to finally put Morrissey away. That booking decision enhances the challenger's stature and put over Moose's willingness to do what is necessary to secure the W.
Where this leaves Morrissey moving forward remains to be seen, but Moose is very clearly the undisputed top dog in Impact Wrestling.
Honor No More vs. Team Impact
Earlier in the night, Eddie Edwards was found incapacitated and ruled unable to compete in the night's main event. The sneak attack created intrigue as to who the mystery assailant responsible for laying both him and Jonathan Gresham out is.
Willie Mack filled Edwards' role, teaming with Rhino, Rich Swann, Chris Sabin and Steve Maclin to battle Honor No More's Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, PCO, Kenny King and Vincent. A win for the invading heels and they would be allowed to stay in the company. A loss and they would be gone.
The early portion of the both was dominated by back-and-forth action, neither team able to maintain an extended advantage. A distraction by Maria Kanellis at ringside allowed Bennett to deliver a Death Valley Driver to Sabin and Honor No More to take control of the bout.
Whether isolating Sabin or Swann later, the heels dominated the action. An errant dive by PCO stunned him and allowed Swann to tag Mack into the match. The former X-Division champion unloaded on Bennett, Taven and PCO, dominating the competition.
The action broke down from there, with tags becoming irrelevant and chaos reigning supreme. King sent Maclin into referee Brian Hebner and dives ensued. PCO delivered the De-Animator, and Vincent followed with Redrum punishing Swann and Mack.
PCO again wowed with his athleticism, delivering a moonsault from the top rope to the mass of competitors on the floor. Eddie Edwards rushed the ring late, and after a moment or two of teases, he blasted Rhino with a kendo stick in a shocking betrayal.
King pinned Rhino to secure the win and ensure the faction remained a part of the Impact roster.

Analysis
The tag team match was wild, chaotic and a ton of fun, but it was the swerve in the closing moments of it that will have the longest-reaching effect on Impact Wrestling.
For the last two or three years, we have listened to everyone refer to Edwards as the heart and soul of the company. He has been the moral compass, its white knight. He has been the guts of Impact and its most ardent defender. Betraying all of that and siding with Honor No More, a collection of stars he previously performed alongside during his days with Ring of Honor, freshens up a character who needed it and changes everything we thought we knew about Impact.
How will the rest of the roster react? Did his wife, Alisha, know about his intentions? How loud and obnoxiously great will the "I told you so" be when Sami Callihan returns from injury and confronts his longtime rival?
Those questions remain to be answered, but for now, Impact is under siege by a group of invaders now led by the one man who once bled the red, black and white of the company.
