Fantasy Basketball 2022: Hidden Gems to Pick Up for NBA Week 9
Fantasy Basketball 2022: Hidden Gems to Pick Up for NBA Week 9

The time may have finally come for fantasy basketball players to trust Jonathan Kuminga.
The second-year player for the Golden State Warriors experienced an increase in court time over the last few weeks as the team tries to work out its struggles with the second unit.
Kuminga's two-week stretch is a promising sign, but it will also be met with caution because he has had stretches like this in the past.
Kuminga is one of a few players who carries intrigue on the fantasy basketball waiver wire because of recent production increases.
Kyle Anderson has picked up part of the absence left by Karl-Anthony Towns, and Jose Alvarado has added to the New Orleans Pelicans' depth with scoring on top of his assists.
Jonathan Kuminga, PF/C, Golden State

Jonathan Kuminga took a step forward in the last few weeks.
Kuminga has been on the floor for at least 19 minutes in five of the last seven games.
The 20-year-old reached double figures in points in his last three appearances.
He is averaging 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in five December games.
Those numbers are up from the 7.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and one assist per game he averaged in November.
The progress should be enough to consider Kuminga as a depth option in fantasy basketball frontcourts.
Of course, there is always hesitation to add Kuminga because he has had positive stretches before and then experienced a dip in playing time.
But the development over the last few weeks is a positive sign for what Kuminga can do for the rest of the season.
Kyle Anderson, SF/PF, Minnesota

Kyle Anderson has been one of the many players who have filled Karl-Anthony Towns' absence in the Minnesota Timberwolves lineup.
Anderson ended last week with consecutive double-digit point performances. He also had 18 assists and 14 rebounds in that two-game run against the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers.
Anderson will not come close to triple-double status most nights, but those numbers show how productive he can be on a nightly basis for the Wolves.
The 29-year-old played at least 30 minutes in four of his last five games.
He has filled up the stat columns during that run. He had at least six rebounds and at least four assists in five of his last six games.
Anderson can fill in some depth at both forward positions in Yahoo fantasy leagues. He will have extra value as long as Towns is out.
Jose Alvarado, PG, New Orleans

Jose Alvarado is one of many bench players who have flexed how deep the New Orleans Pelicans' depth truly is.
Alvarado reached the 15-point mark three times in five games to start December. He is averaging 2.6 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game in that stretch as well.
The backup point guard has been on the floor for 20-plus-minutes in four of those December appearances.
Alvarado should be considered as a pickup in deeper leagues because of his role when New Orleans is at full strength.
Alvarado will not put up a massive point total every night, but he could have 10-15 points once or twice a week and add depth on days when there are fewer games on the slate.
