Madden 23: Teams That Will Dominate Online With Elite NFL Player Ratings
Everybody has their own favorite teams to use in Madden. It may not even be your actual real-life favorite NFL franchise, but rather a squad that you feel best suits your gameplay skills. Or maybe it's the team with the fastest quarterback, allowing you to make dazzling plays all over the field.
Whatever the reason may be, Madden gamers prefer to use some teams over others, and that includes when going online to take on the competition. It can change from year to year, too. And soon enough, Madden 23 will be released, meaning people will try to figure out who will be their favorite teams to play with this year.
Madden 23 is set to be released August 19, but those who preorder the All Madden edition can begin playing Tuesday. That extra time will give those users a leg up on figuring out who the best teams to use will be this season.
As the release of another Madden game approaches, here's a look at several teams that are likely to be popular among online players.
Buffalo Bills

Star Players: WR Stefon Diggs (95 overall rating), CB Tre'Davious White (93), QB Josh Allen (92), RE Von Miller (92), FS Micah Hyde (91), SS Jordan Poyer (90).
The Bills may be the most well-rounded team in Madden 23. Their overall rating and their offensive rating are each the second highest in the game, while their defensive rating is tied for the best.
But the primary reason why Buffalo will be tough to stop in Madden once again is Allen. The 26-year-old has the fourth-best overall rating for a quarterback, and his 89 speed is tied for the fifth-fastest. Allen is also the only QB in the game with 99 throw power. No other quarterback has throw power higher than 97.
It helps that you can use Allen to throw the ball to Diggs, who is the fifth-best wide receiver with a 95 overall rating. He's quick with 92 speed, and he also has 98 catching, so he isn't going to be dropping many passes.
While the Bills' offense will be fun to play with, so will their defense, which has gotten even better since last year. In addition to the dynamic safety duo of Hyde and Poyer, they now have Miller rushing from the edge.
So don't be surprised to see plenty of players selecting Buffalo, and for good reason.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Star Players: QB Tom Brady (97 overall rating), DT Vita Vea (93), MLB Lavonte David (92), WR Mike Evans (92), RT Tristan Wirfs (91), C Ryan Jensen (90).
The Buccaneers will be the best team in Madden 23 ratings-wise when the game is released. Their 92 overall rating and their 92 offensive rating are both three points higher than every other team in the league.
Brady may be 45, but his age didn't affect his Madden rating. At 97, he's the top quarterback in the game to begin the year. He may be a bit slow (71 rating), but he has tremendous accuracy (99 short, 96 mid and 95 deep), which will pair nicely with his 92 throw power.
In addition to Evans (92), other standout players on Tampa Bay's offense include wide receiver Chris Godwin (89), running back Leonard Fournette (87) and receiver Russell Gage Jr. (78), who signed with the Bucs this past offseason.
Tampa Bay's defense isn't among the top-rated in the game. However, its offense will more than make up for it. Just sit back and enjoy picking apart your opponent's defense with Brady.
Los Angeles Rams

Star Players: RE Aaron Donald (99 overall rating), WR Cooper Kupp (98), CB Jalen Ramsey (98), MLB Bobby Wagner (91).
As expected, the defending Super Bowl champion Rams are again among the best teams in this year's game. They're powered by their defense, which has a rating of 88 that is tied with the Bills for the best in Madden 23.
Donald is one of only four players with a 99 overall rating at the start of the game. It's well deserved, considering he's one of the most dominant defensive lineman in football. But Ramsey and Wagner are also defensive stalwarts who will make this unit fun to use.
Considering how many stacked offenses online players are likely to encounter, Los Angeles' defense is a good way to counter those units. And Wagner, who signed with the Rams this past offseason, is a great player for users to utilize in the center of the field.
Kupp is one of the best offensive players in Madden 23. Quarterback Matthew Stafford (85 overall rating) should have no trouble placing great passes for Kupp to catch in the game. Plus, Stafford has 95 throw power, allowing users to really air it out with Los Angeles' offense.
