Fantasy Football Week 8: Waiver-Wire Pickups, Rankings and Stat Projections
Fantasy Football Week 8: Waiver-Wire Pickups, Rankings and Stat Projections

It's typically difficult to find running backs on fantasy football waiver wires this deep into the NFL season. But coming out of Week 7 and heading into Week 8, there could be some potential RBs to target for fantasy managers in need.
Gus Edwards returned to the Baltimore Ravens and had immediate success. D'Onta Foreman is now the Carolina Panthers' lead back with Christian McCaffrey no longer on the team. Michael Carter will be getting a bigger workload for the New York Jets due to Breece Hall's injury. And other secondary options could now be worth rostering.
The fantasy football landscape is always changing, and this week is a good example of that. So it's important to go into it prepared.
Here are some early Week 8 positional rankings, along with top waiver-wire targets for the week.
Quarterback

1. Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (vs. GB)
2. Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (vs. PIT)
3. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (at CLE)
4. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (at TB)
5. Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (at MIN)
6. Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (vs. CHI)
7. Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins (vs. ARI)
8. Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (at DET)
9. Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr (at NO)
10. New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (at SEA)
Waiver-Wire Target: Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff (vs. MIA)
The Lions haven't scored a touchdown in either of their past two games, as they have only six total points during that time. But they should fare better in Week 8 in a potential high-scoring matchup against the Dolphins.
It could be a get-right performance for Goff, who has thrown three interceptions over his past two games. Miami is allowing the fifth most fantasy points to opposing QBs (per NFL.com), so Goff may be in a good position to air it out quite a bit.
Goff has a pair of four-touchdown games this season, so he can excel given the right matchup. He should be a solid streaming option for fantasy managers in Week 8.
Stat projection: 312 yards and two touchdowns
Running Back

1. New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (at SEA)
2. Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (at HOU)
3. Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (vs. CIN)
4. Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (vs. WAS)
5. Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (vs. ARI)
6. Cincinnati Bengals RB Joe Mixon (at CLE)
7. San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (at LAR)
8. Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (at NO)
9. New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara (vs. LV)
10. Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (vs. NYG)
Waiver-Wire Target: Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards (at TB)
After missing all of last season due to a torn ACL, Edwards made his season debut in the Ravens' win over the Browns on Sunday. And he quickly became a strong contributor to Baltimore's offense, as he had 16 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
Edwards capitalized on the absence of J.K. Dobbins, who is currently on injured reserve due to a knee injury. So Edwards should again be the Ravens' clear lead running back in their Thursday night road matchup against the Buccaneers in Week 8.
It's not the best matchup, but Edwards' volume in the offense should make him a start-worthy option. And with Tampa Bay scuffling of late, don't be surprised if Edwards gets into the end zone again this week.
Stat projection: 74 yards and a touchdown
Wide Receiver

1. Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (vs. SF)
2. Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (at NO)
3. Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs (vs. GB)
4. Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (at DET)
5. Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (vs. PIT)
6. Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (at CLE)
7. Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (vs. ARI)
8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (vs. BAL)
9. San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (at LAR)
10. New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave (vs. LV)
Waiver-Wire Target: Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell (vs. WAS)
Over the first five weeks of the season, Campbell had only 11 total catches and no touchdowns, as he wasn't too involved in the Colts' offense. But he's broken out in a big way over Indianapolis' past two games.
In Week 6, Campbell had seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' win over the Jaguars. Then, he had 10 catches for 70 yards and a TD in a Week 7 loss to the Titans.
It seems Campbell has formed a great connection with quarterback Matt Ryan, who has targeted Campbell 23 times over the past two weeks. He should be in line for another solid performance against the Commanders in Week 8.
Stat projection: Nine catches for 105 yards
Tight End

1. Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (at TB)
2. San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (at LAR)
3. Las Vegas Raiders TE Darren Waller (at NO)
4. Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (vs. PIT)
5. Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (vs. MIA)
6. Arizona Cardinals TE Zach Ertz (at MIN)
7. Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (vs. SF)
8. Cincinnati Bengals TE Hayden Hurst (at CLE)
9. New Orleans Saints TE Taysom Hill (vs. LV)
10. Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (vs. CAR)
Waiver-Wire Target: Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (vs. DEN)
Engram still hasn't scored a touchdown in his first season with the Jags, but he's been involved in the offense quite a bit in recent weeks. He's been targeted 23 times over Jacksonville's past three games, recording at least 40 yards in each of them.
In Week 7, Engram had four catches for 67 yards (2 shy of his season high) in the Jaguars' loss to the Giants. As long as Engram keeps getting thrown this many passes, it should only be a matter of time before he gets into the end zone.
Stat projection: 37 yards and a touchdown
