Fantasy Basketball 2022: Waiver-Wire Advice for Injured Players After Jan. 19

Terence Davis and Mo Bamba delivered the best single-game performances of their respective careers on Wednesday night. 

Davis delivered 35 points for the Sacramento Kings in their clash with the Detroit Pistons. Bamba knocked down seven three-pointers in the first half in the Orlando Magic's loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. 

Both players will not make shots at that high of a volume in the coming weeks, but those performances could be important for their confidence. 

Davis and Bamba could be nice fantasy basketball fill-ins for injured players on their own teams and throughout the league. They received extended opportunities on Wednesday with Tyrese Haliburton and Wendell Carter Jr. out with injury issues. 

Ayo Dosunmu of the Chicago Bulls is more of a stable, long-term waiver-wire addition because of his role in the Chicago Bulls lineup with Zach LaVine out. 

Dosunmu will likely be the most consistent pickup of the three players, but it is hard to ignore Davis and Bamba for now after their career nights. 

Terence Davis exploded for 35 points off the bench in Sacramento's high-scoring home loss to Detroit on Wednesday. 

No one saw a 35-point performance coming from Davis, but he has been expected to put up double figures off the bench over the last few weeks. 

Davis reached double figures in six of eight December appearances, and he is on a three-game run with 14 or more points. 

The 24-year-old received an extended run on the floor in the last two games after Tyrese Haliburton entered health and safety protocols. 

Haliburton's expected absence for the next week or so opens the door for Davis to produce more points in an elevated role. 

Davis attempted 37 field goals in the last two games. He scored 52 points and added 12 rebounds and eight assists.

The extra production in the other stat categories makes Davis an intriguing short-term solution at either shooting guard or small forward in Yahoo fantasy basketball leagues. 

Mo Bamba's 32-point performance with seven three-point makes came out of nowhere. 

Bamba knocked down a few three-pointers throughout the regular season, but no one expected to see him sink those shots at such a high volume as he did on Wednesday. 

The career-best performance could be the spark Bamba needs for his season. He was averaging 7.7 points per game in January before Wednesday. 

Bamba began the season with seven consecutive double-digit point performance, but his numbers faded once the season moved into November. 

Bamba will get extra run in the Orlando frontcourt as long as Wendell Carter Jr. is sidelined by the hamstring injury that kept him out of Wednesday's contest. 

The Orlando big man is most reliable in the rebounding department. He had seven or more rebounds in six of his last seven games going into Wednesday. 

Bamba will carry extra fantasy basketball value if he is more consistent from the field and continues to bring in rebounds at a high clip.

Ayo Dosunmu might be the hottest name on the fantasy basketball waiver wire. 

The Chicago Bulls point guard was slotted into the starting lineup after Zach LaVine went down with a knee injury. 

LaVine is not expected to be back anytime soon, so Dosunmu has a chance to grow into his role alongside DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic and others. 

The rookie out of Illinois delivered 18 points on Wednesday to extend his double-digit point streak to three games. He has at least 15 points in all three of those contests. 

Dosunmu's increased scoring production makes him an ideal addition at point guard to either help with injury issues, or take over the production of struggling players. 

He will be well worth the addition during his time in the starting lineup, and he could still have fantasy value off the bench if he carries the confidence from the last week back into that role when LaVine returns.
