Bleacher Report's WWE Staff Predictions for Money in the Bank 2022 Match Card

Money in the Bank is on Saturday instead of the usual Sunday slot WWE reserves for pay-per-views, so it might see an increase in live viewership among people who do not have to wake up early for work on Monday.

Here is a look at the card for MITB:

  • Men's Money in the Bank ladder match
  • Women's Money in the Bank ladder match
  • Bianca Belair vs. Carmella (Raw Women's Championship)
  • Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya (SmackDown Women's Championship)
  • Theory vs. Bobby Lashley (United States Championship)
  • The Usos vs. The Street Profits (Undisputed Tag Team Championships)

Here's our lineup of contributors:

Donald Wood

Men's MITB

Look at the WWE roster and pick eight Superstars who aren't booked for the PPV that you think would make a better MITB ladder match.

AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Mustafa Ali, Rey Mysterio, Butch, Gunther and Ricochet.

Bianca vs. Carmella

Is there anyone else not booked in the women's MITB ladder match already that you would have used instead of Carmella?

Earlier this month, Rhea Ripley won a Fatal 4-Way match and became No. 1 contender to Bianca Belair’s Raw Women's Championship, but an injury sidelined her. As a result, Carmella won a Fatal 5-way to earn the vacant slot.

Instead of Carmella, WWE should have given the opportunity to Doudrop, one of the most gifted and physically imposing Superstars on the roster. Not only is she better in the ring than Carmella, but her size and strength would’ve made her a more believable challenger and given Belair a better opportunity to showcase her awe-inspiring athleticism and power.

Graham Matthews

Men's MITB

Taking your personal opinion out of it, who do you think is best suited to win this match and why?

Seth Rollins and Sami Zayn feel like the most logical winners and would create the most compelling storyline possibilities as Mr. Money in the Bank, but Zayn even more so.

He doesn't necessarily have to cash in the contract successfully, but months and months of him claiming he's protecting The Bloodline only to cash in on Roman Reigns would be an excellent way to cement his inevitable babyface turn.

Theory vs. Lashley

Lay out how this match should be booked to give fans the most satisfying experience.

We're still fairly early on in this feud, so I don't get the feeling the finish to their first match will be decisive. I'm expecting a non-finish of some sort (most likely the titleholder getting disqualified or counted out), but Theory finding a way to win and cheating to do so would not only prolong his title reign but also protect Lashley in defeat and keep him in chase mode. The All Mighty winning the U.S. title at this point in the program might be premature.

Erik Beaston

Men's MITB

In your personal opinion, who should win this match and why?

Zayn, because the storyline potential is gold. Imagine this guy we've all taken for granted as a joke for months now, as he spouted his conspiracy-theory nonsense and was beaten down by Johnny Knoxville, outsmarting The Bloodline and setting himself up to dethrone Roman Reigns. It's a great story that would instantly make a star out of a guy who has proved to be as adaptable a competitor as there is in WWE.

Bianca vs. Carmella

Most people assume Belair will win. Offer an argument for why Carmella should defeat her for the title.

WWE programming is, has and always will be at its best when there is a heel champion for the babyface to chase. Is it a tired formula? Sure, but it works. Add in the fact that Carmella is a much better performer than she probably gets credit for, and you have reason enough to contemplate switching the title, especially if there is no legitimate program on the horizon for Belair. No matter how great the matches have been, Becky Lynch is not that program, either.

Mr. Jeff J

Women's MITB

Is there anyone who is not already booked for the PPV that you would like to see in this match? If so, who would they replace and why?

I would replace Tamina with Io Shirai. It's long been time for her to make the jump from NXT. Her brand of brutality, athleticism, charisma and work rate are desperately needed in the main roster women's division. Let her make her debut in this match and put on a show.

The jolt she'd give the division could light up 100 countries worldwide. Plus, I can imagine another trash can tope suicida off the ladder move that would blow the roof off of Las Vegas.

The Usos vs. Profits

Is this the right time to take the belts off of The Usos?

I think anytime would be a great time to take the belt off The Usos. Jey and Jimmy are one of the best tag teams on the planet, but their undisputed tag champ reign feels a bit underwhelming because of the lack of legitimate contenders. I would love to see a crack in The Bloodline's foundation with a major loss.

It would elevate Reigns' importance to new levels as the last undisputed champ who needs to keep the family on top of the world while staring Brock Lesnar down in a Last Man Standing match. This could have the Usos chasing the Profits all summer or entertaining singles endeavors.

Maybe they go after both singles mid-card titles instead of tag gold? Losing the titles gives them fresh storylines to develop. And the Profits are a five-tool tag team that can carry the division on both shows.

Kevin Berge

Women's MITB

Who would you most like to see win this match and why?

In this field, one woman stands out due to how much Money in the Bank could help her. Morgan has fought hard to get her chance in the spotlight. Everyone she is facing has been given more opportunities, but few have done more work in the last year to improve. She has earned the chance to become a women's champion. That can begin with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Ronda Rousey vs. Natalya

Natalya is unlikely to win here, but if she did, how should WWE book the finish to get the most out of this match?

Natalya has struggled to make an impact in recent years due to the sheer quantity of great characters in the women's division. The BOAT would need to find a way to connect to fans more than she ever has before.

Facing Ronda Rousey, she has a chance to sell herself as truly legitimate. If she could actually make The Baddest Woman on the Planet tap out, it would go a long way in reestablishing her as a top veteran.

Anthony Mango

Women's MITB

Putting personal opinions aside, who should win this match and why?

WWE booked itself into a corner with the briefcases this year, as no one is likely to beat Reigns or Rousey before WrestleMania 39, rendering three out of four normal options for a successful cash-in a no-go. That leaves Belair as the only person who might drop her belt along the way.

Since the men's contract will almost assuredly be null and void, WWE should try to ensure the women's is more fun and give it to Raquel Rodriguez. She's the most realistic to turn heel, beat Belair with a cash-in and go into WrestleMania with the title to possibly face someone like a renewed babyface Charlotte Flair.

The Usos vs. Profits

If you were booking this show, how would this match end?

It would be too anticlimactic for The Usos to drop the titles this early and without more fanfare, so they need to retain. To get to that point, The Street Profits should still put up a great fight and almost win but come up just short.

It isn't the most glamorous finish, but a simple roll-up while holding the tights is efficient and showcases how The Usos had to resort to heel tactics to keep their belts.

Chris Mueller

Men's MITB

Which participants would be the most unexpected winner?

This match contains several possible winners. Riddle, Rollins, Zayn, Sheamus and Drew McIntyre would all be acceptable, but a lot of fans might be mad if Omos gets this one, so I would have to pick him as the most unexpected.

He will have some good spots and somebody will probably try to reach the briefcase from his shoulders, but he will ultimately come up short. Pun fully intended.

Women's MITB

If WWE was going to book a same-night cash-in, who should win and how would they do it?

I would love to see Asuka win the briefcase and cash in on Rousey after her match with Natalya. Not only would this put the SmackDown women's belt back on a full-time performer, but it would also give a reign to a Superstar who has been one of the most consistently entertaining members of the roster for the last few years.

Lynch would also be a good option for the same spot, but Asuka deserves it more right now.
