Fantasy Basketball 2021: Daily Fantasy Advice for Hawks vs. Bucks

The injuries suffered by Giannis Antetokounmpo and Trae Young have affected the daily fantasy basketball strategies of everyone taking part in contests for the Eastern Conference Finals.

The Atlanta Hawks won Game 4 over the Milwaukee Bucks without Young and behind the scoring of Lou Williams and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

Planning out the Atlanta approach to FanDuel's single-game contest for Thursday will be tough since Young's status may go down to the wire, as it did Tuesday.

The Milwaukee DFS strategy should be easier to figure out with Antetokounmpo listed as doubtful. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday are the top plays from the Bucks lineup, but they need to be much better in Game 5 than they were in Game 4.

If both superstars are unable to play in Game 5, you should have plenty of salary space to work with, but you still may need a value play or two to differentiate your lineup.

Bogdanovic produced his first 20-point performance of the series in Game 4.

The Atlanta small forward did so while shooting 7-of-19 from the field and 6-of-14 from three-point range.

Even when Young was in the lineup, Bogdanovic attempted a healthy amount of shots. He is second to Young in three-point shots on the Atlanta roster in the series, and he sits third behind Young and Kevin Huerter in overall field-goal attempts.

The high shooting volume, combined with the confidence gained from Game 4, should give Bogdanovic the green light to shoot, even if Young is out on the floor.

Bogdanovic will not be a cheap selection when it comes to salary at $13,500, but he could be well worth the play if he shoots like he did Tuesday. If Young does not feature, Bogdanovic should be paired with Williams, who is listed at $10,000. They were Atlanta's two best scorers in Game 4.

You could take a risk on Cam Reddish ($9,500) and Danilo Gallinari ($9,000) in an Atlanta lineup stack if Young is unable to go because both bench players would see increased time with Williams bumped up to the starting lineup.

Gallinari might still be a good stacking option alongside Bogdanovic, even if Young plays, since he has a double-digit point total in three consecutive games.

The Bucks can't play as badly as they did in Game 4.

Middleton and Holiday both shot 6-of-17 from the floor, and they had the two of the lowest plus-minus totals on their roster.

Milwaukee appeared to take the Young-less Atlanta too lightly and looked shellshocked by the Hawks' fast start that turned into a victory.

The Bucks will face zero surprises from the Hawks in Game 5, with or without Young, which should lead to better performances from Middleton and Holiday.

The two starters need to provide some stability to the series with Antetokounmpo likely not available. The least Milwaukee can do is hold serve on its home court to put all the pressure on Atlanta in Game 6.

Middleton is listed at $14,500, and Holiday checks in right beneath him at $14,000. They are the only two healthy Bucks with salaries above $11,000.

If Antetokounmpo does not play, Middleton and Holiday should receive the bulk of the scoring opportunities and are well worth a stack at the top of your five-man lineup.

The rest of the Milwaukee lineup may not be trusted enough to place in a DFS lineup, but if you are looking for an edge, Bryn Forbes at $7,000 and Pat Connaughton at $7,500 seem like the best value plays with Antetokounmpo out.

Middleton and Holiday are going to need some support on the outside, and the two reserve guards can provide that in Milwaukee's best-case scenario for Game 5.
