Fantasy Baseball 2021: Best Sleepers to Pick Up for MLB Week 12

All of the prospect buzz in Major League Baseball has surrounded Wander Franco of the Tampa Bay Rays, but he is not the lone rising star to join a Florida team recently.

Jesus Sanchez was called up by the Miami Marlins last week and he has done nothing but get on base in his first few MLB contests. 

The 23-year-old comes with much more waiver-wire availability than Franco, who had been kept on some rosters since the start of the year in anticipation of his MLB debut. 

Sanchez is one of a few hitters with low roster percentages who can help you finish off Week 12 strong. 

Some of the top waiver-wire sleepers may not earn permanent spots on your fantasy baseball roster, but they can at least help while they are hot. 

Sanchez reached base safely through a hit in five of his first six games with the Marlins. 

The outfielder hit his first home run on Saturday at Wrigley Field and followed that up with his second long ball on Tuesday at home versus the Toronto Blue Jays. 

Sanchez has been given a chance to ease his way into the majors and has been hitting sixth behind some of the more experienced hitters in the order. 

The Dominican is rostered in a minimal number of Yahoo fantasy baseball leagues, so he should be free to add as an outfield reinforcement. 

Sanchez has the potential to turn into a consistent fantasy contributor, so he is worth the pickup now before he gains more traction on the waiver wire. 

J.P. Crawford carries a nine-game hitting streak into Wednesday.

The Seattle Mariners shortstop could be a solid backup option in the middle infield if one of your picks at the position are struggling at the dish. 

During his nine-game run, Crawford scored six runs, drove in eight of his teammates and mashed a pair of home runs. 

The 26-year-old's run and RBI totals are not as high as other shortstops because the Seattle order has not been too efficient for most of the season. 

In fact, his support might get worse in the coming weeks if Mitch Haniger and Kyle Seager depart before the trade deadline. If that is the case, now is the time to pick up Crawford while he has some heavy-hitting support behind him. 

Kolten Wong has consistently reached base since his return to the Milwaukee Brewers lineup on Friday. 

The second baseman has a pair of multi-hit performances in that five-game span, including a two-hit outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. 

Wong has been able to turn his hits into runs thanks to Christian Yelich and Avisail Garcia hitting behind him.

The 30-year-old scored four runs in the last three contests and added a home run to his stat line in two of those games. 

Wong's power and the bats behind him make him a bit more intriguing as an addition than Crawford. He could be viewed as an even better pick if he starts to steal bases again. He is 5-for-8 in stolen base attempts and tried to swipe his first bag since his stint on the injured list on Tuesday.
