Fantasy Basketball 2021: Pickups and NBA Waiver-Wire Adds After Feb. 3

The Golden State Warriors do not have a healthy center available at the moment. 

Due to the restrictions in place to bring in new players immediately, the Warriors have to rely on the players on their current roster to bridge the gap between now and James Wiseman's return.

Juan Toscano-Anderson could be the unlikely answer to Golden State's lineup problems after he impressed in Kevon Looney's injury absence on Tuesday. 

The 27-year-old produced a solid audition for more playing time in the next week, as he put up 16 points in a season-high 27 minutes. 

If adding a two-way player seems too risky for your fantasy basketball plans, there is a veteran option from the Eastern Conference who could fill the frontcourt void for a week or two. 

If your frontcourt needs are satisfied, there is a rookie backcourt player on the rise who could be the perfect complement to the big men already on your roster. 

Toscano-Anderson could end up as the ultimate low-risk, high-reward waiver-wire pickup in the next week or two. 

The 27-year-old should earn more playing time with Wiseman and Kevon Looney sidelined, and he is not rostered in a majority of fantasy basketball leagues. 

Toscano-Anderson hit all three of his three-point attempts on Tuesday in a lineup that did not feature much height. 

Golden State head coach Steve Kerr has to come up with some unique lineup configurations for a four-game road trip with two games each against the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs. 

Toscano-Anderson may not line up at center, but based off the praise he garnered from Kerr, he could see an increase in court action. According to The Athletic's Anthony Slater, Kerr said Toscano-Anderson is "heading for a lot of playing time." 

If anything, Toscano-Anderson is a one-or-two-week plug-and-play option with availability at both forward positions in Yahoo leagues. 

With the opportunity in front of him and four games from Thursday to Tuesday, Toscano-Anderson could be in line for a few decent stat lines to end this week and begin next week.

Cody Zeller is a more traditional center with a high rebounding rate who could be a good fill in for Wiseman and Looney.

Zeller has hit the double-digit mark in rebounds in three of his last five games, and he turned in a double-double in an overtime win over the Miami Heat on Monday. 

The 28-year-old's main fantasy value comes on the boards, since he is the top option for the Charlotte Hornets down low. 

Zeller has a few favorable matchups ahead in the next week-and-a-half. After a tough encounter with the Utah Jazz, the Hornets face the Washington Wizards on Sunday. The Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves are also on the docket next week. 

Washington has reserves in place of the injured Thomas Bryant, while Jonas Valanciunas and Karl-Anthony Towns are not available right now for the Grizzlies and Wolves, respectively. 

If Zeller takes advantage of those matchups, there is potential for three double-doubles in that span, or at least a collection of high rebounding games.

Theo Maledon jumped on to fantasy radars with his 24-point performance against the Brooklyn Nets last Saturday. 

The rookie point guard regressed back toward his 7.5 points per game in two meetings with the Houston Rockets in which he chipped in 17 points in total. 

Although he had six points versus the Rockets on Wednesday, Maledon added six steals, four assists and three rebounds. 

If Maledon gets close to 10 points in the coming weeks, he could be a valuable backup guard, especially if he contributes in the other stat categories. 

For now, Maledon seems like a good player to stash on the back end of your roster because he has shown flashes of potential in the Oklahoma City Thunder lineup. 

If he consistently reaches the double-digit mark in points, he could be available in fewer leagues moving forward.
