WWE Superstars in Danger of Being Lost in the Shuffle at WrestleMania 37

Every WWE Superstar wants to have a WrestleMania moment, but not everyone can bask in the spotlight on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Sadly, some won't be on the card at all—not even as supporting characters, ringside help or filler in a multi-wrestler match.

While there are still a few weeks left to finalize this year's lineup, it's becoming less and less likely that certain Superstars will be appearing at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on April 10-11.

Let's examine who has yet to find a role for WrestleMania 37 and may not be taking part in this year's festivities.

The following matches have been announced for WrestleMania 37:

• Roman Reigns vs. Edge for the Universal Championship
• Bobby Lashley (with MVP) vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship
• Sasha Banks vs. Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Championship
• Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women's Championship
• The New Day vs. AJ Styles and Omos for the Raw Tag Team Championship
• Bad Bunny (with Damian Priest) vs. The Miz (with John Morrison)
• Braun Strowman vs. Shane McMahon
• Randy Orton vs. The Fiend (with Alexa Bliss)

There are also several matches that have been hinted at strongly enough that we can assume will eventually be officially confirmed:

• Daniel Bryan could be added to the Universal Championship match.
• Charlotte Flair may be added to the Raw Women's Championship match.
• Elias and Jaxson Ryker could be scheduled to help McMahon against Strowman in a Handicap match.
• Dirty Dawgs will likely defend the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in a Fatal 4-Way against Dominik and Rey Mysterio, The Street Profits and Alpha Academy.
• Big E vs. Apollo Crews for the Intercontinental Championship again seems in the cards.
• Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn is likely.
• Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro is all but confirmed.
• Sheamus appears to be the next teased challenger for Riddle's United States Championship.

Assuming those matches all take place, that still leaves many more Superstars without a spot on the card.

Outside of the Raw and SmackDown title matches and Alexa Bliss accompanying The Fiend for his clash with Randy Orton, no other elements of the women's division have been announced.

Charlotte Flair may return from COVID-19 protocols in time to turn the Raw Women's Championship match into a Triple Threat.

Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler have had prominent spots on television and still hold the WWE women's tag team titles, so they should have a match. But who can step up to challenge them?

The answer to this may be the WrestleMania Women's Battle Royal or a multi-team title match. Dana Brooke and Mandy Rose, Lana and Naomi, Natalya and Tamina, and The Riott Squad could all challenge for the titles in a Fatal 5-Way if WWE wants to put as many people in the match as possible.

However, that still leaves a number of female Superstars without a place at WrestleMania.

Bayley is the biggest omission. She was the SmackDown women's champion for well over a year but now has nothing to do.

Billie Kay, Carmella, Chelsea Green, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Reckoning are all without roles, although Sonya Deville will likely appear as a SmackDown authority figure.

Without a Battle Royal, it's looking as though a good portion of the women's division could be overlooked this year.

The Hurt Business have held both the WWE and Raw Tag Team Championships in recent weeks, but luck hasn't been on the side of Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.

After dropping the tag team titles to The New Day, Alexander and Benjamin were immediately pushed aside in that division. Instead, WWE announced the new titleholders against Omos and AJ Styles for WrestleMania.

It had seemed safe to assume Alexander and Benjamin would accompany Bobby Lashley in his WWE Championship defense, but Drew McIntyre defeated them in a handicap match on Monday with the stipulation that they would be banned from ringside if they lost.

It's hard to picture what else they could do if they aren't in the tag team title hunt or working with the rest of the faction.

A few months ago, Jeff Hardy was one of the most featured stars on SmackDown as he feuded with Sheamus, held the Intercontinental Championship and appeared reinvigorated for a new run in WWE.

After being drafted to Raw in October, though, he's struggled to find any relevancy. His feud with Elias kept being renewed long after it had reached its logical conclusion, his partnership with Riddle went nowhere and ultimately he was just sidelined.

The Charismatic Enigma pops up once in a while to lose to people who are feuding with someone else, like his loss to The Miz on Monday's Raw.

Hardy seems to be without a purpose for WrestleMania, which is strange given how popular he is and his status as a multi-time world champion.

The last time Keith Lee was on television, he was gearing up to face Riddle and Lashley for the United States Championship. He then disappeared, with WWE blaming it on injuries he suffered at the hands of The All Mighty.

No clarification has been offered on these injuries, how long he'll be out or whether this is the actual reason he's gone.

Lee is a big enough name that he could be inserted into a Triple Threat for the United States Championship match if he recovers in time for WrestleMania.

Without any information on The Limitless One's absence, though, the forecast seems bleaker with every passing week.

After constantly berating his stablemates, Mustafa Ali was left alone in the ring at Fastlane when the other members of Retribution turned their backs on him—or, in the case of Mace and T-Bar, emphatically chokeslammed him in defiance.

Supposedly, Ali has been working through a torn PCL injury he suffered in December in a match against Ricochet, which may count him out for WrestleMania. Unfortunately, that means Slapjack, Mace and T-Bar won't appear, either.

There was no follow-up on Monday's Raw to explain what happens to Retribution now. In a perfect world, they would have been a much better faction to begin with.

There could at least have been some finality for the stable at WrestleMania, but the chances of even that happening are looking slim.

King Corbin is a perfect example of a Superstar who WWE has no idea what to do with right now. He's just floating between different feuds and guest-starring in other storylines.

Sometimes, he's still wrestling The Mysterios; other times, he's fighting with or against Sami Zayn.

At this point, the only realistic scenarios for him at The Show of Shows are a Triple Threat with Zayn and Owens, a quick insertion into the Intercontinental Championship scene that would may feel rushed, or a spot in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

Other than that, what else is there for The King of the Ring to do? This is treasonous and a crime against Corbin.

At best, Murphy and Shinsuke Nakamura will be ringside support systems for Seth Rollins and Cesaro, respectively. If they aren't in the corners of their allies, what else would they do?

Murphy's return to being a lackey for The Messiah is a bad sign WWE gave up on him after that horrendous romance angle with Aalyah Mysterio rather than finding a better use for his talents.

Nakamura appears to be a stepping stone for Rollins to beat in order to further his feud with Cesaro. That's his purpose, rather than to build to something for himself at WrestleMania.

A tag team match would be underwhelming. Rollins vs. Cesaro is better as a singles contest while the duos can fight on the editions of SmackDown leading up to WrestleMania.

It's painful to say someone like Ricochet is so often forgotten that he probably never would have had a solo spot on the card and is one of many who will only wrestle if there is an Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

The same applies to the following:

• Akira Tozawa
• Drew Gulak
• Elias and Jaxson Ryker (unless they are factored into Strowman vs. McMahon)
• Erik
• Humberto Carrillo
• Kalisto
• Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik
• Riddick Moss
• Tucker
• Wesley Blake

Outside of that, someone like Dabba-Kato hasn't been seen since Raw Underground was stopped despite still having a profile on the official WWE website, Aleister Black hasn't appeared since being drafted to SmackDown in October and R-Truth will probably only have a backstage segment around the 24/7 title.

Of course, if there is a Battle Royal, all these names and others could be incorporated, which would help solve some of the issues. It wouldn't be much, but it would be better than nothing.
