'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt and the WWE and AEW Stars Who Will Rule 2020

There are many wrestling fans who consider 2019 to be the greatest year in the sport's history, but the stage has been set for an even bigger 2020 headlined by some of the biggest names in the business.
After shining bright last year, fans of both WWE and All Elite Wrestling are looking for the companies to be carried into the new decade by top stars, such as "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt, Britt Baker, Jon Moxley and Lacey Evans.
When trying to predict the future, these are the names people should be talking about in reference to the stars set to rule 2020.
Bray Wyatt
The introduction of The Fiend character was the biggest storyline of 2019, but now that Bray Wyatt is the universal champion and gaining popularity every day, 2020 will also be his year.
One of the keys to success with the character has been the caliber of competition. While a match at Tables, Ladder & Chairs against The Miz wasn't great, Wyatt showed his versatility to portray more than one persona at once.
Other matches included battles against Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor, all of which were elite bouts that garnered largely positive reactions. With the stage set for a main event spot at WrestleMania 36, The Fiend is looking to have an even better 2020.
In addition to being heavily showcased on the Road to WrestleMania, the marketability and popularity of The Fiend indicate he will be prominently featured at SummerSlam, Survivor Series and every other major pay-per-view in 2020.
When we look back on the next 12 months, it will be the year of The Fiend.
Britt Baker
Have you heard Britt Baker is a dentist? While AEW should tone back how many times it shares her occupation, there are few stars on the roster with as much upside as the 28-year-old, which should result in the breakout year of her career.
The AEW women's division has yet to find its identity, but 2020 should see a few of the top athletes positioned as cornerstones and the division built around them. One of those is Baker.
As one of the most popular female wrestlers on the roster, she has the support of the fans to justify a run with the women's title. In addition to her popularity, she is a stellar in-ring worker and has one of the most enjoyable finishing moves in professional wrestling.
With a roster stacked with elite talent, Baker should not only be one of the top female wrestlers in AEW in 2020, but she should also be positioned to transcend the division and become one of the biggest stars in the whole company.
Jon Moxley
Jon Moxley's jump to AEW from WWE was arguably the biggest storyline of 2019, but he has so much left to accomplish with his new company. In 2020, he will become the AEW world champion and make WWE pay for mistreating him.
Moxley has become a counterculture icon in wrestling since he accomplished something many fans thought was impossible: walking out of WWE and into a major competitor's locker room with vengeance in mind.
With a roster full of talented performers and the creative freedom to create a character the modern wrestling fan can truly embrace, he has the chance to turn the business on its ear with more hardcore matches and unforgettable storylines.
In 2020, Moxley will prove wrestlers deserve more creative freedom across the industry by putting on Match of the Year contenders, cutting must-watch promos and being involved in programs that don't insult the intelligence of the audience.
Lacey Evans
As a heel alongside Baron Corbin, Lacey Evans was poorly booked and poorly positioned during her feud with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Just a few months later, though, she has morphed into a popular babyface destined to break out in 2020.
The Sassy Southern Belle has a military background and is a true American hero. With the chance for WWE to embrace her backstory and promote her as a true role model for men, women and children, she will be one of the most promoted performers this year.
While there is no doubt Evans still has work to do from an in-ring perspective, she has proved her worth on the mic and has a built-in history that will garner respect and attention from the WWE Universe.
Watch out for an unforgettable 2020 from the military veteran and mother.
