USC Football Recruiting 2022: Top Remaining 2022 Recruits, Class Predictions

National signing day should be a relatively anticlimactic time for Lincoln Riley and the USC Trojans.
That sentiment figures to change in the next cycle, but USC's 2022 recruiting class is incredibly thin in volume. Between the early-season dismissal of Clay Helton and Riley's focus on adding transfers, the Trojans enter NSD holding only eight commitments.
Even in this unusually small group, though, USC has a handful of blue-chip prospects led by local 5-star cornerback Domani Jackson. Plus, the Trojans are still chasing a few more targets anyway.
As the February signing period begins, we're resetting the outlook for USC and making a few predictions, too.
Current Recruiting Class
The headliner is Domani Jackson, who ranks No. 5 nationally and attends local powerhouse Mater Dei. Although he backed off a pledge to USC in mid-November, he ultimately rejoined the class during the early signing period in December.
USC has a trio of top-100 prospects in the fold. Those players are running back Raleek Brown (No. 41), safety Zion Branch (57) and wide receiver C.J. Williams (72).
Four-star cornerback Fabian Ross rounds out the quintet of blue-chip talents officially locked in with the Trojans.
USC's remaining 3-star commits are edge-rusher Devan Thompkins, linebacker Garrison Madden and punter Atticus Bertrams.
Targets to Know
Honestly, and incredibly, there really isn't a whole lot here.
Given the reality of an eight-man class, that should be absurd. However, the Trojans have landed 13 transfers—including Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams—to reinforce the roster.
Four-star cornerback Jahlil Florence picked Oregon over USC on Monday, and he was basically the last big-name target with an impending decision. USC is pursuing 5-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr., but his recruitment is expected to last until March.
While the Trojans have been connected to 4-star offensive lineman Dave Iuli, Miami and Oregon are the prime contenders. USC recently extended an offer to 3-star lineman Connor Lingren, who's also considering Purdue, TCU and Vanderbilt.
Class Predictions

At this point, it certainly feels like USC has already put together the final pieces of its 2022 recruiting class.
Conerly is the wild card, but his decision is theoretically a month away or more. USC is unlikely to suddenly leap Miami or Oregon for Iuli, considering he recently took an official visit to both of those programs but didn't make another trip to Los Angeles. The last-moment swing at Lingren seems ill-fated, too.
Final prediction: USC doesn't land any more high schoolers for 2022.
Yet thanks to the transfer portal, the Trojans have acquired a ton of talent this offseason. Between the quintet of blue-chip signings and a transfer class featuring Williams, Oregon running back Travis Dye, and Oklahoma wideout Mario Williams, USC will attract no shortage of optimistic previews for Riley's debut season.
