Daily Fantasy Football Week 9: Top Picks, Lineup Advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

The Buffalo Bills have one of the easiest remaining schedules in the NFL.

Over the next two months, Josh Allen and his teammates will be some of the top daily fantasy football roster choices because of their lopsided matchups.

Buffalo takes its 5-2 record on the road Sunday, when they will face one of the league's worst teams, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Buffalo is in the middle of a three-game stretch of facing teams that could finish in the bottom five of the league's overall standings.

The Bills have the easiest matchup on paper, but that will lead to high roster percentages for Allen, Stefon Diggs and a few others. It is perfectly fine to roster them, but you will need to find the right combination of players from other teams to fill out your lineups in DraftKings and FanDuel contests.

It is hard to ignore Buffalo's three-game run of lopsided matchups.

In Week 8, the Bills produced 351 total yards and 26 points in their win over the Miami Dolphins. Coming out of a bye week, they started the first half slow before turning it on in the second half. Buffalo plays Jacksonville on Sunday and then takes on the New York Jets in Week 10.

We should not expect another slow start out of the Bills in Jacksonville in Week 9. Head coach Sean McDermott likely warned against that in the days building up to the game.

The easy start to any Buffalo lineup stack would be to combine Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. The two combined for five catches, 40 yards and a touchdown in Week 8. Cole Beasley must be considered because of his high target rate with Dawson Knox out injured. The slot wide receiver hauled in 10 of his 13 targets for a game-high 110 receiving yards.

Gabriel Davis should be added if you need a low-salary sleeper. He scored a touchdown in Week 8 and caught four of the five balls thrown in his direction.

Zack Moss and Devin Singletary continued their near-even split in the backfield in that win as well. Moss had eight carries for 19 yards. Singletary totaled 27 yards on seven carries. If the Moss-Singletary split concerns you, Allen and three of his wide receivers are the play for the stack.

Jacksonville allowed more than 300 passing yards in four of its seven games this season, and it let up at least 20 points in every one of those contests.

Buffalo's passing attack is poised for a high output, and it is worth dealing with the potential high roster percentages to build your roster around those players.

For the second straight week, the Green Bay Packers face a less-than-ideal situation on offense.

In Week 8, Aaron Rodgers managed without Davante Adams and Allen Lazard by utilizing Aaron Jones and a handful of wide receivers who would typically be further down the depth chart. On Sunday, the Packers will have to take on the Kansas City Chiefs without Rodgers, who is on the COVID-19/reserve list.

The good news for understudy Jordan Love is that he will have Jones at his disposal, Adams back in the lineup and a matchup he can take advantage of against Kansas City's defense.

The Chiefs allow the fourth-most passing yards in the NFL, and they have conceded 12 rushing touchdowns, which is the third-worst total in the NFL.

Jones is expected to carry a heavy workload in support of Love. He had 15 carries and seven receptions last time out against the Arizona Cardinals. Green Bay's top running back has five games with 13 or more carries and six performances with three or more receptions.

Even with Adams back in the fold, Jones should be called on a ton to provide some stability inside an offense that has been ravaged by positive COVID-19 tests recently.

Jones should have the highest roster percentage of any running back, but his projected output is worth the roster spot. If you use him as a foundation for any lineup, you should have a nice points base to work with. Then you need some depth pieces to come alive to support that.

The Philadelphia Eagles' running back situation took an unexpected turn in Week 8, as Boston Scott and Jordan Howard jumped ahead of projected starter Kenneth Gainwell.

Scott and Howard scored two touchdowns each against the Detroit Lions. Some DFS players may see that as a one-week spurt with a ton of regression coming in Week 9.

However, the Philadelphia rushing attack faces a favorable matchup on paper against the Los Angeles Chargers, who allow the second-most rushing yards in the NFL. Los Angeles conceded at least 125 rushing yards to six of its first seven foes this year. The Las Vegas Raiders were the only team it held beneath the century mark on the ground.

Philadelphia is coming off a season high of 236 rushing yards. It earned that total off 46 rush attempts. Quarterback Jalen Hurts only attempted 14 passes.

Scott and Howard are clearly ahead of Gainwell on the depth chart with Miles Sanders out injured. Howard was used mostly in red-zone and goal-line situations in Week 8. If Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni remains committed to the run, Scott or Howard could end up as a terrific value play in your DFS lineups around players like Jones and Allen.
