Projecting the Dream Match Card for AEW Full Gear 2021 PPV
Projecting the Dream Match Card for AEW Full Gear 2021 PPV

AEW All Out was not only a huge night for everyone at All Elite Wrestling, but it was also one of the most entertaining shows of the year.
Matches like The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros, Britt Baker vs. Kris Statlander and CM Punk vs. Darby Allin were hits with the live crowd at the Now Arena in Chicago and those watching at home.
The debuts of Ruby Soho, Minoru Suzuki, Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson made the show even more eventful and showed how far company president Tony Khan will go to build the best roster in pro wrestling.
The next PPV for AEW will be Full Gear on November 6, which gives the company two months to plan things out for each feud that will occupy the card.
Let's look at some of the matches management should consider booking based on current storylines and dream match scenarios.
The Young Bucks vs. Darby Allin and CM Punk
The Young Bucks have had some great matches against the Lucha Bros, but their next PPV bout should be against another duo who just had their own big encounter.
The mutual respect shown at the end of CM Punk vs. Darby Allin is a good sign that these two will not only be friendly going forward, but they may also work together a bit.
Pairing Punk up with one of the hottest young stars in the company for a high-profile tag team match is good for everyone because it allows the two to keep working together while also giving the fans a main event-caliber showdown.
Allin hasn't had many run-ins with The Elite, and Punk is in need of a new feud that includes the classic heel vs. babyface dynamic.
If AEW wanted to make this a trios match, Brandon Cutler and Sting could join the action. Cutler could take the pin, and Allin would stand tall with two legends of the ring.
Bryan Danielson vs. Adam Cole
WWE had Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson on its payroll together for a few years and never even came close to putting them in a feud together. They had some encounters, but it was nothing major. This needs to be rectified in AEW.
Their respective debuts at All Out immediately opened the door for a potential encounter between them, so AEW should capitalize on the built-in storyline.
Danielson and Cole would have a great performance, but this would also allow AEW to give both men a huge bout at the PPV without throwing them right into the hunt for one of the high-profile titles.
One concern some fans have is these new names skipping the line ahead of some who have helped make AEW what it is today. Management can easily avoid that by putting them in other feuds until the time is right for them to chase a belt.
Danielson could have a few random matches against other members of The Elite over the next two months before he and Cole finally face each other. The former leader of The Undisputed Era being angry about The American Dragon upstaging his debut would be a logical reason to start the feud.
Kenny Omega vs. 'Hangman' Adam Page
When "Hangman" Adam Page returns from paternity leave, he is definitely going to get one of the loudest pops heard at an AEW show. When that happens, he needs to pick up where he left off.
Kenny Omega is still the AEW world champion, but his time with the title can't last forever. He has already lost the Impact belt and could lose the AAA Mega Championship the next time he has to defend it. The Belt Collector needs to start losing his trophies.
Hangman is the only person Khan should consider as AEW's next champion. He has been there since the start and has built one of the most passionate followings in pro wrestling. It's time to make him the star he is destined to become.
Omega vs. Page is the money match AEW has had in its back pocket for over a year. When it finally happens, every fan will have their eyes glued to the screen to see who comes out on top.
Ruby Soho vs. Leyla Hirsch
While sticking the new faces into title feuds right away is not the best idea, Ruby Soho should be the exception because part of her journey to AEW has to do with the fact that she has never held a title on television.
For all the time she spent in NXT and on the main roster as Ruby Riott, WWE never booked her to win a championship. It's one of the biggest oversights in the women's division in years.
She will probably get her guaranteed title shot against Baker on a special episode of Dynamite or Rampage. If she wins, her first challenger should be someone the crowd has loved since she first arrived on the scene.
Leyla Hirsch has impressed everyone who has gotten the chance to see her work. She has ridiculous athleticism, strength and speed that make her one of the most legitimate fighters in the company, hence her "Legit" nickname.
This would give Hirsch her first high-profile singles match at a PPV, Soho would get a great challenger, and the fans would get a guaranteed barn burner of a fight. There's no downside here.
Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter vs. Anna Jay and Tay Conti
Anna Jay is back, and Tay Conti couldn't be happier to have her best pal by her side again. AEW should use their friendship and chemistry as a base for a potential women's tag team division.
With Jamie Hayter aligning with Baker upon her return, Khan has what could be the promotion's first official women's tag team feud sitting right in front of him.
The women's division has gotten a lot stronger in 2021 with additions such as Thunder Rosa, Jade Cargill and the return of all the Joshi talent who were under travel restrictions last year due to the pandemic.
The foundation is there to build a women's tag division. AEW just needs to put some teams together and design a set of titles. Hayter and Baker vs. Jay and Conti would be a great first feud if that is something Khan wants to do.
Of course, this also relies on Baker losing the AEW Women's World Championship to Soho before then.
Miro vs. Jungle Boy
Miro has been unstoppable ever since he became the TNT champion. He went through Eddie Kingston at All Out on Sunday and is ready for the next victim to take a shot at winning the belt.
Jungle Boy is still one of AEW's most popular homegrown talents. He has fallen short in his quest to win the world and tag team titles so far, but the TNT Championship might be within his reach.
As AEW has established, Miro has a major weakness with his neck. Kingston and Feugo Del Sol both tried to take advantage of it and exposed his Achilles' heel in the process.
Jungle Boy being so much smaller than Miro would put him at a disadvantage, but having that one thing he can exploit throughout the match would make it seem a lot less one-sided.
Malakai Black vs. Cody Rhodes
After Malakai Black defeated Cody Rhodes with a decisive kick to the face in less than 10 minutes, he didn't stop going after The Nightmare Family.
He has been able to defeat Brock Anderson and Lee Johnson so far. It feels like the story AEW is building will involve the Dutchman running through everyone in The Nightmare Family until its leader returns to get his revenge.
Like Cole and Danielson, AEW should do what it can to keep Black out of the title scene until the perfect time. A feud with Rhodes and his crew would keep him busy for the next couple of months, especially if he takes a week off here and there so he doesn't go through everyone too quickly.
Some kind of stipulation would add a level of excitement to the proceedings. Since AEW just did a steel cage match at All Out, something along the lines of a Falls Count Anywhere or Street Fight might be the best way to go.
First Blood and Last Man Standing would also be good options, especially since Black's finisher is designed to be a knockout blow. The story of the match could be whether he can keep Rhodes down for the full 10-count or if The American Nightmare has anything in his arsenal as dangerous as Black Mass.
Lucha Bros vs. Private Party
The Lucha Bros received one of the biggest pops of the night at All Out when they defeated The Young Bucks for the AEW Tag Team Championships. It was truly a special moment.
They are going to need some challengers who can match their energy in the ring, and the best young team on the roster to fill that role would be Private Party.
Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy were a big part of the early days of the AEW tag team division, but they haven't been in the title scene for quite some time. This is their opportunity to get back into that conversation.
They have the high-flying skills to match Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix, so you know this bout would provide an entire highlight reel's worth of great moments.
As heels, they also make logical opponents for the babyface Lucha Bros. As an added bonus, Kingston could feud with Matt Hardy so all six men can rotate opponents in a series of singles matches before the PPV.
