Ranking the Most Likely Heel and Face Turns at WWE Fastlane 2021

A good heel or babyface turn can accomplish a lot. It can reinvigorate a struggling character, make a mediocre event memorable and turn a storyline from boring to interesting at the drop of a hat.

Apollo Crews is the most recent example of somebody who was treading water before turning heel and giving himself a new lease on life. Now, he looks primed to win the Intercontinental Championship from Big E.

The Fastlane card only has five confirmed matches, so there isn't a lot of room for big turns at Sunday's pay-per-view. WWE is saving all of its big showdowns for WrestleMania 37.

Even with only five bouts, there are still a handful of Superstars who could make a turn this weekend. Let's take a look at the most likely names who could change their ways at Fastlane and rank them based on the probability of their turn. 

Jey Uso has been Roman Reigns' loyal right-hand man ever since he aligned with his cousin and acknowledged him as the head of the family and his Tribal Chief.

However, The Big Dog has not been the most accommodating when it comes to Uso. He has berated him verbally several times and even resorted to attacking him with a chair when things didn't go his way.

If WWE likes the idea of Daniel Bryan vs. Edge at WrestleMania on April 10-11, a good way to get there would be to have Uso turn on Reigns and cost him the Universal Championship.

This would reignite their feud and give The Tribal Chief something to do at The Show of Shows while The Yes Man and The Rated-R Superstar battle for the belt.

While this would all make sense on paper, it is the most unlikely turn on this list. Uso has shown no signs of wanting to betray The Tribal Chief, so it would come out of nowhere.

Edge vs. Reigns has been the perceived matchup for WrestleMania ever since the Royal Rumble. Adding Bryan to make it a Triple Threat is a possibility, but Uso turning on Reigns has about a 10 percent chance of happening. Maybe less. 

Let's say Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair come out on top when they face Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships on Sunday. There is a strong possibility that this would lead to the breakup of the outgoing titleholders.

Jax and Baszler already have problems going all the way back to when they first won the belts at Payback in August 2020, so imagining one of them turning on the other as soon as the titles were out of the picture is easy.

If this happens, the more satisfying option would be for Baszler to turn on Jax. The Queen of Spades is destined for success as a singles star and would benefit more from leaving her teammate laying in the ring after an attack.

Then again, WWE may want to keep them together even if the title do change hands. The women's tag team division is already thin and taking another team away would hurt it even more.

This turn has roughly a 20 percent chance of taking place if they lose the titles; if they retain, a turn involving one of the other competitors is far more likely. 

Reginald is an odd character. He began as Carmella's sommelier, but he has shown more of a liking for Sasha Banks in recent weeks.

When The Boss made it clear she wasn't interested, he found himself in the good graces of Jax and Baszler.

Somebody backstage obviously likes Reginald because he has been getting a lot of screen time, but WWE hasn't booked him in a way that makes sense.

This is why there is a strong chance he costs Jax and Baszler the titles in an effort to get on Banks' good side. And if this is all a ruse and he is still working with Carmella, it would just complicate things further. 

Reginald has switched sides a few times already, so the odds of him doing it again are high. This turn is somewhere in the 30-40 percent range of possibility. 

Sasha Banks is a babyface but she has come across more as a heel in her recent exchanges with Bianca Belair and Reginald. It feels like this is building to something specific.

With Banks and Belair set to fight over the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania, WWE has every reason to book a heel turn for Fastlane on Sunday.

The Boss shouldn't care about the tag titles. Her sole focus should be on keeping the women's title around her waist, and that is why she needs to turn on Belair and leave her high and dry.

This will allow Jax and Baszler to retain while putting more heat on the feud between The Boss and The EST of WWE. Building their rivalry on mutual respect is fine but if Belair is going to win at The Show of Shows, having them working as bitter rivals would be a much better choice.

This is the most likely turn at Fastlane with about a 50 percent chance of it taking place. It will almost be more surprising if it doesn't go down this way.
