Predictions for WWE Raw, SmackDown, and AEW Dynamite for Week of September 28
Predictions for WWE Raw, SmackDown, and AEW Dynamite for Week of September 28

On the heels of Sunday's Clash of Champions pay-per-view, WWE will turn its attention toward building to Hell in a Cell on October 25, beginning with this week's television shows.
We know Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso to retain his WWE Championship via referee stoppage Sunday, but might The Tribal Chief face a united front with the return of Jimmy Uso?
What will Retribution be up to a week after an inauspicious start, complete with laughably bad names?
Those topics and more are at the center of the predictions for this week's Raw, SmackDown, NXT and All Elite Wrestling broadcasts.
Retribution Continues Its Reckoning
Retribution are all about avenging management's wrongdoings—just not on pay-per-view telecasts.
Conspicuous by their absence at Clash of Champions, the masked renegades will make their presence felt on Monday's Raw as WWE Creative continues to push them as the latest and greatest threat to the company.
What will Bane, Casey Jones and the rest of the try-hards have in store for the WWE Universe?
Interaction with The Hurt Business should be expected. There is unsettled business between the two factions, as allued to by MVP on the Clash of Champions Kickoff after T-Bar, Mace and Slapjack dealt his group a beatdown on the most recent edition of Raw.
The mouthpiece of the group, United States champion Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander are highly unlikely to take the ass-whooping they caught from the invaders lying down, so another physical battle between the groups makes sense.
One should look even bigger than that, though, when it comes to Retribution.
Fans will get a preview Monday night of just how prominent the new faction will be on the flagship show by night's end. Might a flirtation with the top of the card present itself? With only two months until a Survivor Series pay-per-view in which Retribution figure to be a part of the centerpiece bout, do not be surprised if they move up the card.
Potentially beginning Monday night.
A New Challenger for Drew McIntyre
While it is possible WWE books one last showdown between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell, it felt like the company wrote The Viper off the show for the foreseeable future based on the booking of the Ambulance match at Clash of Champions.
Orton caught his comeuppance from Big Show, Christian and Shawn Michaels before being sent on his merry way in the back of an ambulance driven by Ric Flair.
If Orton is out of the picture, McIntyre will need a new challenger.
That person should reveal themselves Monday.
Maybe it is Keith Lee, reminding the champion he never beat The Limitless One in their two matches. Perhaps Seth Rollins gets another crack at the title amid his crusade against the Mysterio Family.
Or maybe Retribution begin their ascent up the ranks, with T-Bar staking a claim to the title in the name of revenge for all the wrongs that have been committed against him and his cohorts. You know, because holding the top title in a company you are denouncing, one week after signing contracts while criticizing others for lining their pockets with WWE money, totally makes sense.
Regardless, McIntyre will put the Orton feud behind him and focus on a new threat to his title as the company begins the steady march toward Hell in a Cell on October 25.
Shotzi Blackheart Continues to Impress with Win Over Dakota Kai
Shotzi Blackheart recently came within seconds of defeating NXT women's champion Io Shirai in a non-title match. Seven days ago, she was the final elimination in a Battle Royal to determine the No. 1 contender to Shirai's title at TakeOver 31.
On Wednesday, she battles Dakota Kai in a huge singles match that will likely set the stage for one of them to receive a championship opportunity sometime in the near future.
Blackheart eliminated Kai to set up their match, and given the emphasis that has been put on The Ballsy Badass of late, expect her to dash the New Zealander's hopes of another opportunity at Shirai's gold with an impressive win.
The commentary team put Blackheart over strong following her battle with The Goddess of the Sky, and her showing in the aforementioned Battle Royal is indicative of NXT management's desire to keep her at the forefront, even if a championship match wasn't in the cards for Sunday's show.
It will do that with a win over an established talent like Kai, just days before the title is contested in a match between Shirai and Candice LeRae on WWE Network.
Darby Allin and Ricky Starks Tear the House Down in Anticipated Grudge Match
The grudge match between Darby Allin and Ricky Starks has been weeks in the making, and Wednesday night on Dynamite, the talented young breakout stars of All Elite Wrestling will clash in a match that will tear the house down.
Though AEW world champion Jon Moxley is slated to appear, Dr. Britt Baker makes her return and SCU battles AEW tag team champions FTR, it will be the Allin-Starks match that has fans buzzing.
There is a reason they are the breakout stars of the company and why Allin consistently leaves the audience in awe of his daredevil athleticism. Starks is no slouch in that department, either.
Both have made the most of the opportunities presented to them over the course of their AEW careers and will do so again on Wednesday's show.
That is, as long as it is not some bait-and-switch angle that sees Brian Cage get involved and decimate Allin in the hopes of management holding off the match until Full Gear on November 7.
Roman Reigns Latest Address as Head of the Smackdown Table
WWE champion Roman Reigns decimated his cousin Jey Uso on Sunday to the extent that the challenger's brother, Jimmy, rushed the ring to throw in the towel to end his twin's suffering. It was a dominant, somewhat despicable showing from Reigns, who has quickly established himself among the best heels in professional wrestling.
Friday on SmackDown, he will continue building momentum for himself as he addresses his actions and faces any consequences that may come his way.
Are we primed to see Jimmy Uso give The Tribal Chief a fight for the WWE Championship? Not likely considering he has not returned to the ring as of yet because of the knee injury he suffered at WrestleMania, but that does not mean Reigns' dealings with his cousins are over.
Whether it is Jey, Jimmy or a new challenger, Reigns will continue to express himself in a manner we have not witnessed before: as the heartless, ass-kicking machine whose goal is to punish the opposition, hoist the championship and continue to sit at the head of the SmackDown table.
