Maybe it's too early to say this, but it seems like Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season could be a blast.

Fantasy managers could use some fun, since many will feel the impact of the four teams on bye: the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams. That's a ton of early draft picks and impact players to be missing action.

Luckily, the football gods apparently wanted to balance things out, so they threw out some welcome relief on Thursday night. First, the offenses finally came alive for a Thursday night collision, as the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints combined to score 76 points. Then, the San Francisco 49ers shook up the football world by trading for fantasy juggernaut Christian McCaffrey.

It's been a wild start to the week already, and we're just getting started. Let's dig into what might lie ahead with our latest round of start-or-sit decisions.

Start: Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys (vs. Detroit Lions)

While Prescott hasn't suited up since suffering a thumb injury in Week 1, the schedule should allow for a smooth return here.

In fact, it should be all-systems-go for every fantasy-relevant player in Dallas' offense given the matchup. There are bad defenses who can't believe how generous the Lions have been this season. Detroit ranks dead last in both yards (428.6 per game) and points (34.0) allowed, and neither category is particularly close.

The Lions also allow the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, per Yahoo, and they've been shredded by the likes of Carson Wentz (337 passing yards, three touchdowns) and Geno Smith (320 passing yards, two touchdowns, plus seven carries for 49 yards and another score). Even if Prescott isn't 100 percent, he should be good enough to torch this defense.

Sit: Marcus Mariota, QB, Atlanta Falcons (at Cincinnati Bengals)

Mariota just played perhaps the perfect game for his skill set, as he led Atlanta past the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. He stayed within himself and erased all mistakes, ultimately finishing his day going 13-of-14 for 129 yards and two touchdowns while rushing six times for 50 yards and another score.

As good as those numbers are, they speak to his non-existent margin for error. There aren't many quarterbacks who can find fantasy relevance on just 14 passes and six carries. He needs touchdowns to offer any value, as he's cleared 200 passing yards twice in six contests (and never topped 229) and has the same number of games with more than 50 rushing yards.

In other words, even his good games don't produce big numbers. Maybe that's just as well, since no quarterback puts up big numbers against the Bengals anymore. Cincinnati has allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to the position and even kept Lamar Jackson in check (174 passing yards, 58 rushing yards, one passing touchdown and one interception).

Start: Allen Lazard, WR, Green Bay Packers (at Washington Commanders)

There hasn't been much to like about this Packers' passing attack, but Lazard is the lone exception.

He clearly has the trust of Aaron Rodgers, and that goes a long way toward establishing a lofty fantasy floor. Lazard hasn't seen fewer than six targets in four consecutive games. In three of those contests, he caught a touchdown pass. In the other, he set season-highs for receptions (six) and receiving yards (116).

The schedule sets up for another strong outing, as Washington has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to the position.

Sit: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Denver Broncos (vs. New York Jets)

This is painful to write as someone who championed Jeudy as a breakout candidate this summer, but that was working under the assumption Russell Wilson would liven up this passing game.

The Broncos are barely averaging more passing yards now (219.2) than they did last season (211.4) when Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock were under center. Oh, and Wilson is fighting a hamstring injury, so this aerial attack could be even more limited than it has been.

Fantasy managers can't have Jeudy in their circle of trust right now. He's getting chances—five-plus targets in every game but one—but they just aren't amounting to much. He has two touchdowns in six games and hasn't reached 60 receiving yards since Week 1.
