The Tag Team WWE Has to Break Up, Babyface Shotzi Sizzles and More Friday Takes

Friday's episodes of SmackDown and Rampage didn't have much in the way of newsworthy moments, but we still got to see some fun pro wrestling action.
Maximum Male Models were used in a few different backstage segments this week, but WWE's attempt to use them comedically fell a bit short.
Sheamus had a confrontation with Imperium that ended with the lone Irishman being beaten down due to Butch and Ridge Holland being stuck in Florida, but the segment was just another example of how The Celtic Warrior has become one of the MVPs of WWE in recent years.
We also saw the return of Shotzi's tank after months of absence. Over on Rampage, a couple of appearances from different managers highlighted a small issue AEW needs to work on.
Maximum Male Models Is Dead in the Water
For the past couple of months, Mace and Mansoor have been working together as a tag team with Max and Maxxine Dupri serving as co-managers of sorts.
For a few weeks, Max has been showing more signs of his original LA Knight personality, which has a lot of fans hoping to see him return to his old character and ditch the modeling agency gimmick.
If that happens, there is no reason to keep the Maximum Male Models shtick going. Unlike The Fashion Police, MMM just doesn't have the comedy chops to keep the WWE Universe invested.
If they had leaned harder into the comedic aspect of this from the start, there might be a good reason to keep this team going. After all, the more duos in the tag division, the better.
At this point, Mace and Mansoor could still remain a team, and Maxxine could even remain by their side, but they need to ditch the goofy poses, clothes and mannerisms. Getting back to basics and focusing on in-ring action is the best way to proceed.
Sheamus Deserves Another World Title Run
For the past few years, Sheamus has been making a strong case for a future spot in the Hall of Fame and another chance at a run with the world title.
The self-proclaimed King of the Bangers has continued to get better in every aspect of this business, and if there is any justice in the world, WWE will capitalize on that.
When the Irish Superstar first won the WWE Championship almost 13 years ago, he was not ready yet. He might have had the size and look, but he did not have everything else figured out yet.
Now, as a skilled veteran who has worked with some of the best wrestlers in the world for over a decade, Sheamus is consistently one of the best parts of SmackDown.
Whether he does it as a solo act or with Butch and Ridge Holland by his side doesn't really matter. As long as he gets back to the top of the mountain at some point, a lot of fans will be happy.
Babyface Shotzi Is Money
For fhe first time in many months, Shotzi drove her tank to the ring for a match on this week's SmackDown.
All is right with the world again.
Well, there might still be countless problems in the world, but Shotzi being tankless is no longer one of them. Fans online rejoiced as the green-haired grappler drove her vehicle of destruction to the ring on Friday.
It might seem like a small and insignificant detail to some, but having that one thing sets her apart from the rest of the roster. It adds to her uniqueness and gives WWE some easy merchandising opportunities.
Toy tanks with her action figure would be a popular Christmas gift, especially if it actually fired a little missile like hers. Manufacturers missed the boat on selling Boba Fett with a working rocket back in the day. They shouldn't make the same mistake with Shotzi.
AEW Needs to Use Its Managers Better
Having managers for certain pro wrestlers is a decades-long tradition that has included such names as Jim Cornette, Paul Heyman, Bobby Heenan, Mr Fuji, Sherri Martel and many more.
While WWE has steered away from using them too much over the last 20 years, AEW has featured managers for several Superstars. The problem is they are not being used to their fullest ability.
Vickie Guerrero, Joe the Assistant, Mark Sterling, Alex Abrahantes, Sonjay Dutt, William Regal and Stokely Hathaway carry most of the load, but Jake Roberts and Don Callis still pop up from time to time.
Hathaway has been used well since he arrived on the scene, Regal gets decent time on commentary, and Sterling is a great stooge who makes everyone he works with look great, but many of the others are being used sparingly and ineffectively.
Vickie feels like an afterthought most weeks because her clients do not appear as frequently as they should, and Jose is not used nearly enough to carry the load in promos. Andrade can speak for himself, but Jose is more confident in his delivery when speaking in English.
Having Andrade and Rush give promos in Spanish while Jose translates for them would be a better way to use all of them than having Andrade do all of the talking while Jose chimes in here and there.
Managers are good for more than bumping for their clients and providing distractions. They can add depth to a character and be great personalities in their own right.
