Fantasy Football Week 4: Waiver-Wire Pickups, Rankings and Stat Projections
Fantasy Football Week 4: Waiver-Wire Pickups, Rankings and Stat Projections

An intriguing NFC East matchup will conclude Week 3 of the NFL season on Monday night.
The New York Giants will be looking to improve to 3-0 when they take on the Dallas Cowboys, which will again be starting Cooper Rush at quarterback in place of the injured Dak Prescott.
For some, there will be huge fantasy implications. For others, it's already time to start looking ahead to Week 4, whether it's because they are riding the momentum of a win or they are preparing to bounce back from a loss.
Here are some early positional rankings for Week 4, along with several waiver-wire players to target this week.
Quarterback

1. Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen (at BAL)
2. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (vs. BUF)
3. Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (vs. JAX)
4. Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (at HOU)
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady (vs. KC)
6. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (at TB)
7. Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson (at LV)
8. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (vs. MIA)
9. Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (at CAR)
10. Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers (vs. NE)
Waiver-Wire Target: Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota (vs. CLE)
Marcus Mariota may not be the flashiest fantasy quarterback option, but he could be a solid fill-in if your signal-caller has an upcoming bye, a tough matchup or an injury concern. That's because of how the Atlanta Falcons player is using his legs.
During the Falcons' 1-2 start, the 28-year-old has scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, one of which came in the Week 3 win over the Seahawks. He also passed for 229 yards and a touchdown in that victory.
The Atlanta offense may be a bit better than it showed at the start of the season. And even though Cleveland has a solid pass rush, Mariota should be able to use his legs to avoid pressure and still put up some solid numbers in Week 4.
Projected stats: 242 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown
Running Back

1. Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (vs. TEN)
2. Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (at ATL)
3. New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley (vs. CHI)
4. Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (vs. ARI)
5. Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris (vs. NYJ)
6. Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (at IND)
7. Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (vs. NO)
8. Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (at HOU)
9. Detroit Lions RB D'Andre Swift (vs. SEA)
10. Jacksonville Jaguars RB James Robinson (at PHI)
Waiver-Wire Target: Chicago Bears RB Khalil Herbert (at NYG)
When David Montgomery suffered right knee/ankle injuries in the first quarter of the Bears' win over the Texans on Sunday, Khalil Herbert immediately stepped in and had success against Houston's struggling run defense.
The 24-year-old rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns, helping power Chicago to victory.
It's unclear what Montgomery's status will be for the Bears' Week 4 matchup against the New York Giants. But if he doesn't play, Herbert will be a must-start RB.
Even if Montgomery suits up, though, Herbert still has some flex value. Chicago has passed the ball only 45 times over the first three weeks of the season and has a run-first offense, so the former Kansas and Virginia Tech RB should still get decent work.
Projected stats: 113 yards and a touchdown (if Montgomery is out)
Wide Receiver

1. Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp (at SF)
2. Cincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (vs. MIA)
3. Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs (at BAL)
4. Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (at CIN)
5. San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (vs. LAR)
6. Minnesota Vikings WR Justin Jefferson (vs. NO)
7. Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (vs. DEN)
8. Detroit Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (vs. SEA)
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (vs. KC)
10. Indianapolis Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. (vs. TEN)
Waiver-Wire Target: Las Vegas Raiders WR Mack Hollins (vs. DEN)
Mack Hollins has quickly emerged as a key target for quarterback Derek Carr in the Raiders' offense.
With Hunter Renfrow out in Week 3 due to a concussion, Hollins stepped up and had a big showing in the loss to the Titans, notching eight receptions for 158 yards and a touchdown.
The previous week, the 29-year-old had five catches for 66 yards and was targeted eight times. So it's clear he's going to have a role for Las Vegas moving forward, even if his numbers aren't always quite at the level they were Sunday.
If Renfrow sits again, Hollins could have another big game. But he's still an interesting fantasy player to have on the bench to see how this situation develops moving forward.
Projected stats: Six catches for 72 yards (if Renfrow plays)
Tight End

1. Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (vs. BUF)
2. Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (vs. BUF)
3. Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (vs. CLE)
4. Las Vegas Raiders TE Darren Waller (vs. DEN)
5. Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (vs. JAX)
6. San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (vs. LAR)
7. Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (vs. NYJ)
8. Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (vs. SEA)
9. Arizona Cardinals TE Zach Ertz (at CAR)
10. Los Angeles Chargers TE Gerald Everett (at HOU)
Waiver-Wire Target: New York Jets TE Tyler Conklin (at PIT)
The Jets have been passing the ball a lot with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco leading their offense, so Tyler Conklin has been involved plenty. He's been targeted at least seven times in each of New York's first three games and has 18 catches this season.
On Sunday, the 27-year-old had season highs in receptions (eight) and yards (84) in a loss to the Bengals, although he couldn't get into the end zone for the first time since Week 1. But he could score another touchdown again soon.
It's always tough to find streaming options at tight end, but Conklin's volume is an encouraging sign. He may start to put up even better numbers in the near future.
Projected stats: 62 yards and a touchdown
