Fantasy Football 2022: 2-Round Mock Draft, Top Team Names and League Names

Not every fantasy football draft unfolds the same way. That's even more so the case for mock drafts, as managers tend to practice different strategies to try to figure out which one will best work for them when drafting for real.
At this point, many fantasy managers have likely done a few mocks. Over the next month, every fantasy football league will be holding its real draft, and those people who put in the most work and preparation should fare better.
If you haven't done any mocks yet, it's probably not too late. Many fantasy leagues don't draft until after the three-week NFL preseason slate, so there's still plenty of time with the first week of exhibition games just now taking place.
To help you prepare for the 2022 fantasy football season, here are some league names and team names for you to consider using. Then, we'll break down a two-round mock for a 12-team, half-PPR league that was conducted using the FantasyPros Mock Draft Simulator.

2-round Mock Draft

Round 1
1. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts
2. Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings
3. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers
4. Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
5. Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
6. Cooper Kupp, WR, Los Angeles Rams
7. Austin Ekeler, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
8. Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
9. Joe Mixon, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
10. Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
11. Davante Adams, WR, Las Vegas Raiders
12. D'Andre Swift, RB, Detroit Lions
It's worth noting that the manager with the No. 2 pick in this simulated draft went with Cook over McCaffrey. That's not extremely common this year, as many are expecting McCaffrey to bounce back in a big way from his injury-plagued 2021 season.
However, Cook may be a safer pick. He missed four games last year himself, but if you also draft his backup, Alexander Mattison, in a later round, you should be guaranteed to get strong production out of a Minnesota running back each week.
Jefferson came off the board one pick before Kupp, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year. Both receivers are likely to have big years, and you can't go wrong with either. But some believe Jefferson is poised to put up better numbers than Kupp, even though that wasn't the case in 2021.
The fantasy manager at No. 7 got great value with Ekeler. Many times, he gets selected in the top five, so the fact that he fell to that point is a steal. Ekeler should have a big 2022, especially because he'll be a top target for Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert in the passing game.
Round 2
13. Stefon Diggs, WR, Buffalo Bills
14. Javonte Williams, RB, Denver Broncos
15. Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
16. Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns
17. CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys
18. Saquon Barkley, RB, New York Giants
19. Mark Andrews, TE, Baltimore Ravens
20. Deebo Samuel, WR, San Francisco 49ers
21. Leonard Fournette, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
22. Alvin Kamara, RB, New Orleans Saints
23. Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
24. Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The first two tight ends came off the board in the second round, and rightfully so. Kelce could garner some consideration late in the first round because of how consistently better he's been than the league's other tight ends, but if you can get him in the second, the value is even stronger.
Kelce and Andrews should be the top tight ends in the NFL again this year. Kelce has more of a track record, but Andrews is likely to put up huge numbers as well, considering he'll be the clear top target for Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Williams has a ton of upside out of the Broncos' backfield, but is he worth taking as early as No. 14? Melvin Gordon III is still in Denver and will be splitting carries, so that could cut substantially into Williams' workload depending on the week. But if Williams proves he should be the clear No. 1 RB, then he'll likely play up to his potential.
The manager at No. 21 got great value in Fournette, who is dropping lower in fantasy football drafts than he should be. That's the same manager who took Henry in the first round, so they have quite a duo to build around for the rest of the draft.
